While the building was going up, and unknown what establishment it was going to open as, I was really hoping it was going to be a Taco John's or even a Bojangles. Then when McAlister's announced they were opening. I never heard of them before. My friend has, and said they were good. Yesterday, October 20, 2019 we went to this location for the first time. Normally, I do not like trying brand new restaurants until the staff becomes more knowledgeable. I wish I'd had listened to my gut feeling, however the $5.00 off birthday coupon they sent me persuaded me to give them a try! What a mistake that was...Over priced, small portions, out of several items. I ordered the Big & Bold Ruben Sandwich, let me tell you, for a $9.29 sandwich, there was nothing big or bold about it! Way too skimpy on the sauce, I think maybe a tablespoon worth! It was to come with a pickle, but did not, when I enquired about the missing pickle, I was told they were out of them...then why ask me at the time of ordering if I wanted something you couldn't provide?!? They were also out of lemonade! It took a total of 4 people and 15 minutes to use the $5.00 coupon. My friend ordered two "Just A Spud" with bacon and cheese. One skinny, undercooked slice of bacon on each Spud! Minimal cheese! Their sweet tea is yet to be desired, it was neither tea or sweet, just some brown water with sweetener! After the $5.00 coupon was correctly applied, our total came to $22.97. Maybe a year from now, if this location is still open, I might consider giving them another chance, but doubtful! If you know what to order off the menu then you know that this place has some very good selections. Can't go wrong with a McAlister's club sandwich with some world renown iced tea! All I got was 2 Sweet Teas...only 2...waited 30 minutes because they didn't realize they needed to make more sweet tea for three other people in the restaurant until I asked for some. They also have only like three drinks to serve and they were out of everything other people asked for, and it was only 3:00. I have never eaten at McAlister's Deli before, until the other day. I walked in and was greeted immediately by their friendly staff. I ordered a choose 2 BLTA and spud max. The BLT was the most amazing thing I've ever had. And the spud max was to die for. It costs me about $10 with taxes, and my food came out in about 8 minutes or so. Every time my water was low a friendly staff member would make sure I had my refills. They also took my plates for me and got it out of my way as well. The store was also very clean and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my day. Overall, they have excellent service there, and it is the best place I have been to in a while. read more
