We had originally intended to go to the wood shack down the street unfortunately it was closed so we had to default to McAllister's. We ordered three sandwiches with soup and salad. My sandwich did not look very appetizing. as you could see in the photo, but it tasted good. The service was clumsy, but effective the ambience was your typical McAllister's deli. Nothing particularly bad to speak of although I would have appreciated more conveniently located trash cans around the dining room. read more

What an excellent meal. We're driving through Big Spring, Texas, and it's lunch time. I of course picked a local restaurant cause they are always the best food! Closed on Saturday. What? My second choice was so busy there was no parking places. Strike two! We ended up at McAlister's Deli. My go to is the choose 2, sandwich and salad. My club sandwich was excellent, and the salad was huge and delicious! Plenty of leftovers. I wish you could count on chain restaurants being this consistently good. Nice Turkey sandwich selection. My sandwich was hot and delicious. With a 1/4 slice pickle and cheetos, it was yummy. Along with a berry lemonade to wash it down. This entire place SCREAMS 1/5 stars. First of all, it wasn't even that busy yet they were out of everything!!! Why even make a menu if you don't even serve the food!! So instead I begrudgingly consumed some chicken tortilla soup that was too spicy and probably damaged my liver in some way, shape, or form. Anyway guys, if you're reading this, don't feel bad. Just be better about stocking your food and cleaning up the place. Also, please look like you're happy when you're working, and if you can't maintain a smile, then you a. probably shouldn't be working here or b. you should just wear a mask to hide your sadness and disgusting facial hair. I tried to place an order for a traveling team; needless to say, we did not end up eating at McAlister's Deli in Big Spring. In short, the management simply refused to even get on the phone to discuss the logistics of 1) accommodating an entire team, and 2) feeding us in a timely manner. I called twice, mind you. The staff member on the phone couldn't answer questions and tried to defer to management, who could be heard saying, "we don't cater here!" Their website says otherwise, but I digress. One thing is for sure: if you have a sports team and are thinking of bringing them to this location, DON'T! I wonder if the franchisee who owns and operates this location is aware of how management is running this establishment. read more

We again drove 15 miles round-trip to get sandwiches from McAllister's, again the sandwiches were not made right. We didn't ask for anything extra just a regular menu item. This is the second time this is happened, and they always want to remake it for you, no, I'm not driving another 15 miles. This place literally smells like a vets office. You walk in and are immediately overwhelmed by the aroma of wet dog fur and dog droppings. I thought I walked into the wrong business. This was then followed up by very slow service. It took the guy at the counter 10 minutes to take our order, and then got the order wrong twice. I cant honestly feel good on giving this McAlisters even 1 star but it forced me to. Upon walking up to the counter to order, there was a spilled drink all over it. Filthy! Bathrooms were atrocious. Toilets yuck! Hair in sink. Huge new paper towel roll was sitting on shelf instead of in dispenser, so it was unuseable. Had to search for a clean booth table. Floors needed a sweep and serious mopping. It looked like they hadn't been touched all day. An employee was on her hands and knees picking up trash and 15 seconds later delivering meals to tables without handwashing. Her 'smokes' were sticking out of her back pocket. I had the McAlister Club. I had 1 tomato slice on the whole sandwich that was no bigger than a silver dollar. I think they were rationing bacon because I got 1/2 of a slice total. There was no mayo but tons of yellow mustard. It was NOT the standard McAlister Club I've had at various locations nationwide. A 3 year old could have done a better sandwich building. The Potato salad was NOT the standard McAlisters. What I received was the junk you buy in a tub at a cheap supermarket. It was disgusting that I couldn't finish it. I had to hurry and eat it because I was in competition with the flies that were on the floor then onto our table. This McAlisters FAILED in every facet of professional restaurant operation. If it wasn't for it being a Sunday with limited options for dining, we would have left. This place needs a health Dept inspection before someone gets sick. I expect BETTER at McAlisters. read more

A successful franchise in some places, in Big Spring, not so much. The staff are "manufactured" friendly (company expectation friendly) and not truly serving with that touch of "love and concern" found in local, family owned places. The sandwich, soup, or potato you order in Big Spring matches what you can get at nearly any other McAlister's, except you will have some mistake at this location. I actually love McAlister's. This was my first time at this location and I saw they had a drive thru so I went through the drive thru so I wouldn't have to leave my daughter in the car. That was obviously a mistake... the MANAGER said "can you do me a favor? Get out of the drive thru. It's not for ordering" then continues to belittle his employee to me. I was caught completely off guard by the rudeness. To the younger girl that helped me in the drive thru, no amount of money is worth a toxic work environment. You're too sweet to be putting up with that. To the manager I talked to, can you do me a favor? Stop projecting your personal issues onto your staff and customers. Food was ok and service was friendly. The restaurant was dirty though. The tables needed to be bused and the order counter was sticky from spilled drinks. Also the white plates the food is served on are stained. While I know they've been washed, the stains are definitely unappealing. The food here is McAllister's, which is consistently decent. The real heroes here are the staff! The employees are always really pleasant, and the management recently resolved an issue quickly and to my and my wife's complete satisfaction - above and beyond their obligation, in my opinion. It's a bit pricy, but they're one of the best sandwiches you can get in town. read more

Solid choice when stopping thru Big Spring. We enjoyed the Cobb Salad with chicken, French Dip and a BLT in a recent stop here. I was pleasanly suprised with availability of Green Tea and the size of the to go drink containers were substantial. I loved that I could download the McAlister app and have my order placed in minutes. But the moment I walked in, I almost wanted to cancel. There was a dirty feel, from the floor, with half eaten cookies to several tables needing to be cleared. Every other McAlister store I've been to has been spotless, clearing tables before the customer is even out the door. I made my way to the counter, where the only employee in sight glanced my way but did not acknowledge me. Four more employees emerged from different places, passing me by but never saying a word to me. Their banter with each other made me happy that at least they seemed to like working there. Finally, a woman holding an empty cash tray came out from the back and said she'd be with me soon. By this time, I'd stood there almost 5 minutes. My order wasn't yet ready, so I returned to my car to wait. When I came back in, another employee I hadn't yet seen was waiting at the cash register and promptly offered to help, so maybe I just caught them at a bad time. The salads were wonderful, and customizations were right on, so I'm adding a star, but a little customer service training and some attention to cleaning would go a long way. And to the corporate office, would be nice to have some salad dressing options not full of sugar. read more

I arrived at my time, parked in the only spot that made sense with a big A. Waited and no one came. Finally I called and the person who answered didn't have a clue to online ordered. Finally, I got someone who said, We don't do curb side. You have to get in line for the window or come inside and wait in line. There were 10 cars in line so I went inside. The cashier,Briana, was rude and very unhelpful. She lied and over charged me. I asked her three times if that was the right price and she said yes and then continued to over charge me. I called and placed the exact same order over the phone and I was correct. She over Charged me. She is a thief and her manager backed her up. They both should be ashamed. This happened today May 23. Well, I will preface my review by saying my sandwich was delicious. However, all the previous reviews were dead on. The place smells like their grease trap needs to be serviced. The employees were all standing around doing very little while there were several tables that needed cleaning. The floors and all the surfaces needed a good cleaning - as did most of the employees I saw. Very unprofessional. While I enjoyed my sandwich I couldn't help wondering what the kitchen looked like and how sanitary things were based on what I saw in the dining room. This is clearly a management situation. Okay, last review I was mad. And since have boycotted going to McAlister's at all. Last season they decided it was a smart thing not to bring back the strawberry Pecan Chicken summer salad. Which is my favorite thing on the menu. They only have it in Spring and it stops being available about midsummer. This year, it's back! I had one tonight it was so yummy. I am not one to publicly post about a restaurant, but I was so disgusted by this location that I felt I had to share. I wish I had my phone with me so I could have taken pictures of all the areas of disgust. When we sat down at our booth I noticed how dirty the back of the seats were. It is obvious that they are not cleaned at all. Then I noticed that the railing by our booth had not been cleaned either. There was food smeared and dust/dirt covering it. I needed to use the restroom and there was a sign saying that the women's restroom was out of order. I was desperate, so my husband made sure no men were in the men's restroom and stood watch so I could use it. I went to wash my hands and there was no soap. Fortunately I had hand sanitizer in my bag. Oh, and the hot water didn't work when I rinsed my hands. Walking out I noticed that the bench at the ToGo counter was covered with dirt, had some trash on it and a cigarette butt next to it. The trash can lid was filthy and did not look like it had ever been wiped down. The food was okay. My husbands sandwich was cold. I probably would have enjoyed it more if the restaurant had been cleaner. All I could think of was that if the restaurant looks like this for the public, what in the world does the kitchen look like. It is obvious that the franchise owner at this location isn't worried about details, cleanliness, or impressions. All I can say is that I'm so happy my home town McAllisters is nothing like this one. read more

Normally, when a place is new and only been open a short time, everyone is going through a learning process. My first experience with McAlister's here in Big Spring, more than met my expectations. Store was busy, but they moved customers with a minimal wait time. Iced tea is as good as any other McAlister's I have been to. Can't get any better. Got a French dip sandwich to eat in (all good + hot au jus) and also got baked potato with chile to go. From the guy that took my order, the girl that brought my order, to getting my tea refilled as I was leaving.......I'm gonna be back for sure. read more
