Southwest Chicken & Avocado Salad, Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich. Huge portions. So good
Nhu H.

I love the salads at McAllisters. My go to is the southwest salad and it is always so filling. The salad is huge and they do not skimp on the chicken. My fiancé always gets the southwest chicken sandwich. The sweet tea is very addicting. This location in particular was very clean. Highly recommend.

Ham & Cheese Melt with so much mustard on it even though my wife asked for no tomato or mayo

The food is OK. The service is a lousy. My wife went in there to get a 2 for 1 deal and asked for an extra bowl of chili. The person who took her order never gave her the price of the food. She said she would pay for it after her food came up so my wife asked for two bowls of chili and she told her it would be five dollars. My wife said OK and she asked if she wanted it. My wife did reply. Yes but she never did it. I think the food is good. I just think that the employees have selective hearing and that's bad for business. I told her next time I send her for McAllister's hopefully will be out of town because these restaurants around here really don't understand anything. They just don't like to do their job. Food is not half bad service sucks very bad. My wife told her no mayo on her sandwich because she can't have mayo. They put more mayo on the sandwich than ham and cheese. This is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. I guess they don't look at things like if people have allergic reaction to things and they can get away with it will not over here.

Savannah chopped salad was big enough for two and offered flavorful grilled chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes and sherry vinaigrette dressing. The iced teas are huge here! And I think they put a half lemon in everyone- huge lemon wedges! Service was helpful and friendly. Though they are a bit slow on bussing tables at lunch time which may contribute to an untidy dining room at times. Good spot for a quick lunch.

One part of the lunch crew.

Terrible service nearly 30 minutes for a sandwich. Severely understaffed. A/C not working very hot in restaurant.

Schlotzsky's has good bread. I think the sourdough original bread is best, and, I like the original…read moremuffaletta sandwich most. I tried the deluxe version on this visit, but find the proportions in the original much better. My wife had a bacon grilled cheese sandwich which comes on a pretzel roll with four kinds of cheese, and avocado, accompanied by a tomato-basil dipping sauce. This is a really excellent sandwich. My wife enjoyed this one so much she attempted to duplicate it the next day for her lunch. Yeah, Schlotzsky's has some good specialty sandwiches. Chips are a bad value, i.e., too few and too expensive. I do not think you can find a smaller bag. I believe the bags are less than an ounce. I vote with my feet on this one and never get chips. Come on Schlotzsky's, triple the size or include it gratis with the sandwich. This is a gyp.

This is really disappointing because we love the food at Schlotzky's & this is the only location left in Louisiana. We just stopped here during July 4, 2026 weekend. The entire glass front door was cracked & looked like it would shatter if you touched it, but it was not covered for safety. They didn't have ANY tea made & the water out of the coke machine tasted horrible (in Shreveport, we have F grade water, but this was somehow infinitely worse), so I didn't even get a drink that we paid for. Both bathrooms are extremely dirty. My husband said there are never any paper towels in the men's room & the air dryer is rusted & too gross to use. And the water sprays out like crazy when you barely turn it on. He said it also stinks. The ladies room is also gross & the sink looks like it hasn't been cleaned in many years. The toilet seat doesn't fit on the toilet & slides around everywhere when you're not moving. The water barely comes out of the faucet, making it hard to wash your hands. (For at least a few years, the bathroom door locks didn't even work, but I guess they finally fixed that, at least.) We sat at the one table we could find that wasn't dirty. My husband also noticed some of the floor tiles are coming loose. My husband said his Original sandwich wasn't hot all the way through & his chips were stale. And they gave me the wrong dipping sauce with my calzone. We were weirded out by how dirty the restrooms & restaurant were, making us really concerned about how clean the kitchen & food could be when everything else is so dirty. So due to all of this, we will not be returning.

Whether it's an occasional treat, a special occasion, or simply lunch, Atwood's is always a great option. Locals are here for all sorts of reasons: morning coffee, freshly baked pastries (croissants are on point), sandwich for lunch, dessert anytime, and cake. The latter is a big one, especially during this time of year, i.e. Mardi Gras. Their regular king cake with cream cheese is most definitely a hit. I wouldn't hesitate to get a custom cake ordered here and I think their prices are still reasonable. They also have a number of small, personalized desserts, and also have a solid variety of gelato and cookies as well. I appreciate their attention to seasonal items. It's super cute on the outside, and despite not being overly spacious, has enough tables for small groups to enjoy a drink and a small dessert treat. Parking is plentiful, they accept credit cards, and they're a women-owned establishment. The times can get tricky since they close on Sundays and Mondays and are only open till 2pm for midweek. From Thursday-Saturday, they're open till 9:00pm. __________ (#1) A lot like Ambrosia (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-ambrosia-bakery-baton-rouge-2) in Baton Rouge or Amore (https://www.yelp.com/biz/amore-bakery-and-cafe-gretna) in NOLA.
