The food was great. The employees seemed to be waiting for the rush. The biggest problem I had at this location was tripping on a piece of concrete embedded wood in the parking lot. I asked for a manager to inform them so that someone doesn't actually get hurt, but the employees stated they would let the manager know and they are not allowed to give out the manager's phone number. They did not seem to be in a hurry to call their manager, but after insisting, they came and looked at the hazard and agreed it was an issue. I've attached photos of the hazard. I fell down around 10:35 AM and caught myself, but at 7:15 PM am still experiencing hand, shoulder, back, and toe pain. Whoever is the owner of this parking lot needs to be informed and aware that this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you trip on this hazard, please be aware that the restaurant IS AWARE of the danger as of 10:45 AM, refused to let me speak with someone in charge, and that it has already caused minor injuries to myself, a pregnant woman. read more

Firehouse Subs North Alexandria 700 MacArthur Dr Suite A Alexandria, LA 71303 Today, Tuesday 5/28/24, on my way back to Lake Charles returning from a work trip in Alexandra, my coworker suggested that we stop for lunch at Firehouse Subs. He stated how GOOD the subs were, so I agreed to give this place a try. Since this was my first-time dining at this franchise restaurant, I didn't know what to expect and kept an open mind as I am always willing to try something different and give a business a shot at earning my future business. As I walked into the restaurant, I was quite impressed with the cleanliness and the décor of the dining room. The walls are decorated with items that firemen wears or things that you would find in a firehouse. There's also two TV hanging on the walls for your enjoyment while you wait on your order to be prepared. There's also a lot of covered outdoor seating for the guests who enjoy the fresh outdoors. As we approached, the counter to place our order, we were immediately greeted by a young man who patiently answered all of questions about the menu since this was my first time here and I wasn't quite sure what type of sub I wanted. The wait time after ordering was about 7 minutes which is awesome considering it was lunch time. I ordered the medium (7" - 8") Club on a Sub sandwich on white bread with smoked turkey breast, honey ham, crispy bacon, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, served with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced spicy pickles, onions, mayo, and deli mustard with a dill pickle spear served on the side. This was one of the best sub sandwiches I have ever eaten. The bread was fresh and soft. The sub sandwich was made to order, served hot, had a lot mean (ham and turkey breast), perfectly topped with fresh vegetables, finished with just the right amount of mayo and mustard, and evenly cut into two pieces for the ease of handing and enjoying. I will dine at this location again if I'm ever in the Alexandra area again and I will give other Firehouse Subs a try, thanks to the positive dining experience I had at this location. read more

TERRIBLE. I ordered my food at 1:28, and didn't get it until 1:52... WRONG. I ordered an easy turkey bacon ranch on wheat with no tomatoes add jalapeños. I got it almost 30 minutes later AFTER people got theirs who ordered after me. No one once apologized. They were back there talking and socializing besides making sandwiches. I have loved all other Firehouses, but this one was a true disappointment. Will never go back. Only reason I gave one star was because it was still edible (and I had to). read more

if I had to compare the $15 dollar sandwich to give my honest opinion, which it won't make anything better. I'd compare it to one of those premade subs thats been sitting in the deli at Walmart with dried out bread, lettuce is turning colors. Besides the fact that we placed an order they said they could make, when we got there they told us we had to go to the other store all the back across town. Their Hook and Ladder sandwich is delicious. The bread is soft and the lettuce tomato and onions had the perfect knife work.

Ordered pickup today of 2 subs and their menu isn't extensive so it was a fairly basic order. Using their platform I indicated condiments on side for one and no onions on the other --there were extra onions and peppers and tons of Mayo ON the subs. Got nothing on the side except exasperation been on holiday and I can't think of one order takeout I have received that was correct anywhere. Disappointed because I've heard great things about this chain. Ordered online and the app, and half the orders were correct. The order was placed for a later pickup time, but it was clear the sandwiches were made right away...and sat there for over an hour. All the Hot sandwich orders were completely cold and soggy. Unlike the other sub shops, this place gives you a choice of small/med/large for sandwich sizes. On the negative, the ordering and prices associated are for sandwiches only, to make any medium a combo, it will be just over $10.00. Now this medium was right at the same 12" size at other locations. The Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket was above all the best I have ever had for flavor when ordering from a sub shop. Firehouse Subs was a place I never noticed before I arrived. I was going to Marble Slab, but then realized I hadn't eaten that day. I got an Italian sub, and it is amazing. That is to die for. The Service is also friendly and the food preparation process is fast. The Mac n Cheese tastes weird, but that isn't to remove a star for. Firehouse subs beats Subway across the street (sometimes) and has many sizes of subs as well to choose from, so it is also a good place to bring kids. I didn't mention it yet, but they have one of those Coca-Cola drink machines. When you walk into a restaurant and see one of those you stare in awe, happily. It has so many drink selections, and just feels different from normal machine soda and juices. Firehouse Subs as a whole is just a great establishment as well considering the funds go to firemen who help save countless lives daily. Combining food, the movement/cause they are trying to achieve, and the soda machine, I think Firehouse Subs could be one of the best places in Alexandria that is a chain across some parts of the United States. read more

I make it a priority to seek out firehouse subs whenever I am visiting a new area. While going to a doctors appointment in Alexandria on the 1st, I did a quick search for what was available. Luckily, there was a firehouse about a mile away. Read a few reviews that weren't favorable but decided to try it anyway. Thankfully I did. When I got there it was maybe 10 minutes after opening so not busy yet. I placed my order to a very friendly young man that didn't interrupt me and actually listened to my order. Completed the order and went to fix my must have sweet tea and sat down. It started getting a little busier inside but it didn't take long to get my sandwich. I am a huge fan of the firehouse sauce for my sandwich and could drink it by the gallon. Sadly since the pandemic, they don't have the self serve bottles anymore but will fill small cups to give out. Finally, got my sandwich, chips, sauce, and tea. I'm ready to pig out. Looking at my sandwich I'm surprised that everything is on it and evenly spread out like I would do myself. It was lunch time and very crowded. We hemmed in. Poor design. Patio too large and not enough dining area. Salad had brown lettuce. I don't eat cucumbers but there was no sign that I saw that came with them. Sandwich was ok. I was really disappointed and will not spend another $20 for two people to eat lunch. The drink machine was backed up due to the line. Not the smartest invention for a restaurant. The salad dressing was pretty much in a thimble. Fortunately, I could not eat the salad so it was ok. Went here with a family party of 10. This place is not set up for large groups. This is a new place in town which probably accounts for the chinese firedrill operation. Half our group were about finished with their sandwiches before the other half got theirs. Also, they made the wrong sandwich for my wife. One server argued with the other about the sandwich type believing if you say it is so, it is so. Never offered to make the correct sandwich. Since it took so long to make, we did not want to wait again. That is not the worst of it. Because of the long wait my needed to top her drink off at the refrigerator like drink despencer which was out of ice. So while my wife was filling up her cup while a worker pops the top off the big machine. Climbs a step stool with a huge bucket of ice and hoists it over his head. Then he loses balance about dropping bucket on my wife. Then knocking the step stool from under him and thus crashing to the floor. He was really hurt and did not get up. A large group of work rushed pass my wife to help him. No one asked my wife about her injured foot and she limped back to our table wanting to get away from this trainwreck of a place.
