While I was watching to house for my parents who went out of town one of the springs on their garage door broke. Before I go any further I should note that Hicklin came to our house back in 2013 and did a spring repair and service on our door then as well (Im not an expert by and means but over 10 years on a base model spring sounds pretty good to me). So following my father's advice I contacted Hicklin Garage Doors to get an estimate. They did me one better, within 2 hours a service Tech, Collin, was at the door ready to take a look. After his initial assessment he advised me that it was in fact a broken spring and after a short but detailed breakdown of the different packages they offered Collin was hard at work. From the time I called to completion were talking about a span of no more than 4 hours. The work done by Collin itself only taking about an hour and that was with me standing there asking him all kinds of questions. Despite my quest for garage door knowledge Collin answered every question I had making sure I knew exactly what he was telling me. Very knowledgeable and very polite. Having Collin in our home was a pleasure. Hands down I will continue to use Hicklin Garage Doors for all of our service or repair needs and I will recommend them to anyone who asks. The manager said they would "try to come up with something", and was pretty unpleasant about my having mentioned their lack of quotes and receipts in the survey that they had emailed me. Really? You are supposed to provide detailed quotes and receipts. The company used to do that right. The changes that someone has instituted are not making for happy customers. Has it occurred to you that some customers may need those receipts for tax purposes? What you sent me via email within the body of your request for survey was a joke. I will update the rating when I receive the official receipt on the company's letterhead with a description of the work done and breakdown of charges. UPDATE: they finally got the Invoice right. To their credit, their response to survey and review was as quick as could be.
