I was immediately attracted by the signage stating that there would be no in-house sales pitch. I spoke with Matt and learned that all that was needed in order to receive a bid was to send my rough measurements and photos of the current windows. That sounded easy enough! A tape measure and a cell phone were all I needed. Soon my information was off in an email. I also contacted other installers for bids and began researching the various window manufacturers to compare the window quality. Zen installs the 3 cost levels of Soft Lite windows, and the online reviews of the materials were positive. We decided to use Zen. Soon Dan came out to make accurate measurements. I spoke with Matt and decided to go with the middle level window and placed the order. We are extremely pleased with our choice. The window quality is excellent. The double-hung windows open and close smoothly and fold in for easy cleaning. We also selected a bay window with casement windows on each side to replace a picture window. Operation of the side windows is smooth. Further we are really happy that we went with the added expense of the bay window--we love it. Installation was fine, and there was a clear commitment to ensuring we were completely satisfied with the installation and finish work. So, all that is expected of any company. With Zen I received exactly what I was expecting! However, one element far exceeded my expectations: customer communication and service. This places Alix and Matt, owners of Zen, at the top with the very best. No question was a burden. Contacting with "Oh, I have another question..." always got a quick response. And no matter when I sent a message or question, be it Monday morning, Friday evening or even on a Sunday, I got a response usually within 15-30 minutes. If customer service and communication are important in a purchase decision, Zen Windows should absolutely be considered. Add in the other factors and Alix and Matt at Zen Windows get my highest recommendation. Look to Zen for quality materials, fine installation, amazing customer service and an outstanding warrantee for materials AND labor. (Matt can give you all the details.)

Our neighbors (we live in the country, so its relative) had major home renovations and we watched the progress of their home every time we drove by. When we decided the time was right for our renovations, we talked to our neighbors. They were so very excited to share and recommend the Haggerty Team. They gushed about how the guys working on their home, had become part of the family. They gave us a Haggerty magnet and told us we would not be disappointed. Wow, were they right. We are over the moon about our "new" home. New siding and windows have made us proud of our home once again. The installers were so professional and personable. It was snowing many days during the install, yet they were still there working away in their Carharts. They always made a point to watch out for my old dog and see that she was taken care of. Our house has totally transformed and Haggerty did it. The guys went above and beyond and made sure to repair any damage to the house before siding over it. Clean-up happened daily, and I never had to ask them organize their things or address any issues. There were no issues. I just can't tell you how happy we were with the results and with the Haggerty Team. They literally helped with everything from picking out design and colors. On balance, not a good experience with Haggerty. Will try and be factual and objective, but realize…read morethe later may be hard to do. I was referred to them by a trusted co-worker after hail damage to my roof. The company quickly sent out an inspector, they proved a quote and the work was approved by our insurance company. We selected the materials and colors and delivery of the materials was timely. The work was started in November of 2019 - note I said started but not finished. The roof went on quickly and though there were a few corrections needed, it went as well as could be expected. Four downspouts that were to be replaced weren't, and remain that way to this day - over 9 months later. Additionally, they didn't replace the leaf guards in all areas of the gutters and several gutters were clogged with roofing debris, which continues to cause overflow issues and is damaging the landscape below. Finally, they left the yard in a troubling state of cleanliness due to the amount of debris, tacks and roofing nails left behind. To this day, I continue to pick nails out of the yard and only hope my dog doesn't get one. This spring, we contacted them about finishing and they were most apologetic. Yet, nothing happened despite multiple exchanges of emails. We had been holding back $5,000 until the work was completed but in a gesture of good faith, I paid them $4,000 (wish I hadn't now). They finally sent a guy out to measure the downspouts and look at the missing gutter guards. And despite his good attitude and promises, we still don't have the work completed. We were told that since ours was such a small job, it was hard to get attention to it (of course, when the project was initiated it wasn't a small job). I've informed Haggerty management that regardless of whether they finalize the work or not, I would not be releasing the final $1,000 due to the extreme delay, though I hoped as a Des Moines based company that emphasized "do it right" and Iowa values, they would act responsibly and complete the work. That has not happened and I will now need to hire another company to complete the work (and then it's likely a small claims suit to recover the difference in costs). In good conscience I can't recommend this company, and that is unfortunate as they nearly got it right. But they really got it wrong in the end.

I have never been treated this horribly before by customer service. I worked with Caillum (or…read moreKaylum) to order new parts for my old Pella windows. When the technician came out on 6/20, he said they ordered the wrong parts, and said someone from Pella would reach out to me. On 6/26, I hadn't heard anything from Pella so I called. I was told that I would be refunded the cost of the parts soon. I was also told that I would not be refunded the $250 labor fee because they were ordering new parts and the technician would need to come back out to install them. I received a notice of refund via email on 7/9. I have sent Pella several emails requesting an update but did not receive a reply to any of them. Today, 7/14, I called to request an update on my new parts and a refund on the labor fee. Caillum was so rude to me and acted like he was angry that I even called. He told me my case was closed, which was news to me. He didn't offer me any solutions or next steps to fix my broken windows. When I asked about refunding the parts labor fee, he got frustrated with me and said that the $250 was the cost to have the technician come to my home to tell me the parts were incorrect. I tried to tell him that my invoice designated the $250 for labor to install parts not to diagnose a problem. He kept repeating himself and taking over me. I asked to speak with his manager. He still kept repeating himself about why I was "wrong." When I asked him to please stop, he hung up on me. I then called the general number and spoke with Kylie. She apologized and said she would contact Caillum's manager Adam, and he should get back to me In 1-2 business days. I'm just so disappointed in how I've been treated by an Iowa based company. My neighbor is telling me to go to Window World and get all new windows because she has never had a bad experience with them.
