Here are some pointers: - make sure you have safety glasses - make sure you have ear protection - you can rent or buy these items there - they have targets for purchase - you can get a membership there for $30/month and gain access to their lounge and utilize other weapons to practice with (plus eye and ear protection is included when you go) - they sell ammo The lanes were super clean and a space underneath the shooting area to store your bag. They have multiple indoor ranges, which I LOVED. This way if only 2-3 people are in there, you don't have to be in the same range. The two guys running it all up front were super cool. Easy small talk. I'll be back again, and possibly with my girlfriend and her damn pink 9mm gun (ok, she doesn't have one yet but that's what we plan to get her for protection). Women and accessorizing . Would recommend. Clean place!

I bought a 12ga shotgun from this business about 2 months ago, Luther showed me how to change out…read morethe stock because it wasn't what I really wanted. After doing so a couple days later, I realized the gun had some cycling issues, so I brought it back to Luther, who said he'd send it to his gunsmith. I called/ stopped by trying to get an update on the progress of my gun at least twice a week for well over a month and a half. Always getting the same answer, "I'm waiting on Randy to call me back". So finally, I asked for Randy's info to see if I'd have better luck. When i contacted Randy, he knew nothing about my gun, but Said "Luther would give me Call". I waited for that call for the rest of the day. The very next day, I decided to stop by since I still hadn't recieved a call from Luther. At the store the next day, there was one customer being helped when I walked in. So I patiently waited for a good amount of time. While waiting, several other customers came in and were shown guns and given convo; meanwhile he's still too busy to talk to me. Only after interrupting him from doing the paperwork, (even though he didn't mind stopping that to show guns to the other customers) did he go to the back, bring my gun out, telling me that Randy had over looked it this entire time! And he just so happened to go by and pick it up yesterday, and instead of having Randy fix it. He just brought it back to the shop not repaired. Im nowhere near slow, he just never sent my gun off to be fixed, he just lied to me for 6/7 weeks about doing so.

I recently took the all female basic pistol course with AFT. There were 6 of us in the class, and…read morethe maximum class size is 12 so that everyone gets the necessary attention. I very much appreciated the small class size because it gave us more time to answer questions and for hands-on practice. Susan was our instructor, and she was great. She was both patient and eager with our questions, and quick to give a real life examples of the technical information provided. The two day course is perfect. The classroom day is heavy on safety and pistol knowledge. I thought that I wouldn't want all that information, but all of it was worthwhile. I ended that day comfortable with how a pistol works, how to handle misfires and hangfires, and how to safely grip and handle a pistol. I was initially nervous on the gun range day, but Tom, Susan and Michelle were so great - patient and encouraging. We were able to handle a variety of pistols and shot seated, standing with both hands and standing using one hand at a time. If found shooting oddly relaxing, and I zoned out a few times when shooting multiple shots at a time. I wanted to shoot more and if I'd had a gun, I could have. So if you have a gun, bring it with you (unloaded of course) and they'll work with you on your grip and shooting methods with it. It was hard to use so much of a weekend for this course (9:00-4:00 on Saturday and 8:30-2:00 on Sunday), but it was so, so worth it. Yelp 100 #60

These guys are top notch, and their instruction is suited to those who are beginners all the way to very experienced. Their understanding of ballistics proved particularly insightful for this course, and while I have a long way to go, this was a great introduction to this category, and I am very appreciative to Brian and John.

I cannot recommend these guys with any higher praise. In one session, "Advanced Session Two," I went from knowing the basics of firearms to now having the tactical knowledge and high confidence in how to best handle and employ my firearms. Scott, my instructor -and also the Valken Group founder and CEO- walked me through every room of my house, instructed me on how best to take tactical positions, how to retreat, where to take cover, how, when, and where I would have to switch to my weak-side shooting hand to best keep the bad guys at bay. After completing the "Advanced Session Two" course, I went from a guy with a gun to a guy who pities the fool who tries to break into his house. It won't be a fair fight. Not even close. This is not overconfidence. Let me explain more about what I learned. First. Let me back up a minute. The Valken Group comes to your house anywhere in Georgia! They set up these backstops, target posts, and shell-catching side panels. No one else in the United States provides this kind of in-home instruction. This is where it gets super cool. Scott opened up this beautiful case loaded with modified Glock 17s. Check out the photo, especially the mags. The rounds are not packed with gun powder. They are called "Simunition," a non-lethal training ammo that allows you to shoot anywhere without the constraints and dangers of using live ammo (imagine shooting 150 rounds of 9mm inside your house). The military uses Simunition to go "Force-on-Force," allowing it to get as realistic as possible to real-life fire fights. The Simunition itself, as I understand it, are rounds packed with nothing more than air pressure, and the bullet is this little putty-like stuff that won't even penetrate a thick sheet of plastic. You learn to shoot in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Everything is tailored to your goals. From first-time gun owners to advanced folks looking for professionalization skills, the Valken Group will develop a program within their course offerings to ensure you achieve your specific goals. I signed up for the "Advanced Session Two" and let the guys know that I also had specific interests in close protection. Scott led me through multiple drills. By the end of the day, I knew how to hit multiple small areas on a target, I knew how to shoot controlled pairs, I knew how to count my shots, I knew how to do tactical and essential mag changes, I knew how to release the slide rack while staying on target, I knew how to move from different ready positions to firing accurately and rapidly. My knowledge, ability, and confidence have increased in ways I did not think were possible with a single day of drills. Scott also left me with drills to practice on my own. I wish there were a way to heap even more praise on the Valken Group. I signed my girlfriend and her dad up for training in March. I am going to take the next level course in January.
