Coincidentally, this particular day was the death anniversary of my late Aunt Arabella "Bella" Sprang. I had a KALI session with Maricel and absolutely loved it! I had never experienced this kind of energy work so I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It was somehow relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. The music really complemented the experience and I feel like it helped the emotions work through my body. I had the most amazing virtual KALI (Kundalini Activation Light Integration) session with Maricel. She made me feel safe all throughout the session, which was incredibly comforting as I was experiencing an intense emotional release. I have met Maricel back in possibly 2013-2014ish when I was seeing a chiropractor for my car accident I had gotten into. I had two massages from her before she left the office to pursue her own business. But ever since she left, I could not find anyone that had that amazing and magical touch that she had. Mind you, my family and friends say I have a back of steel; I love super deep tissue massages and never found anyone who could get deep into the knots. Reconnected with her after searching all over the web and social media 7-8 years later and man I am so glad I did!!! I have chronic deep tissue pain in my neck, shoulders and back area constantly. I finally got an appointment booked and found out not only does she do massages but she does reiki as well. Maricel is extremely communicative and knowledgeable. She asked what I would like done before getting onto the table. I let her know my concerns, muscle tensions and what I would like the massage to be focused on with the most pressure she can give me (I can handle a lot of pressure). She asked if I was interested in Reiki and because I have never experienced it, I was definitely open to try it. I do believe and love reading about the cleansing of the energy, soul, etc. so I was excited. After experiencing it during my massage, it is an UNDERSTATEMENT! The music was relaxing, space is super inviting with a giant window and a really cool looking tree outside. Added plus the studio smells amazing. I started seeing Maricel last year because she specializes in Lomi Lomi and Reiki techniques. I have been looking for more than the traditional sports message and have loved that she plays traditional Hawaiian music. I will never forget the beautiful way she described Lomi Lomi.. This review is loooooong overdue, and I feel a little guilty about it because Maricel deserves all the praise I can possibly give for being such an amazing massage therapist. I have had a ton of massages in my lifetime (well over 50). As an avid spa goer and someone who feels that massages are necessary for your health and not just for relaxation, I can confidently say that she is one of the best. When I was still living in San Diego and working a demanding and stressful desk job, she was one of the very few therapists who was able to get those pesky knots in my trap muscles out without hurting me. Such skill is not easy to come by and is a testament on how well she knows the human body. My husband is super picky when it comes to finding the right therapist and also hates it when therapists use their elbows too hard to get out his knots. I recommended he try out Maricel, and he had nothing but praise to say after his session. Aside from giving the best massages, coming to see Maricel is like visiting an old friend.
