Originally, our…read morefirst experience with Yuriy's was when we purchased my engagement ring in the downtown shop, but everything else we purchased or had repaired/restored has been in the South Hills shop, and the work has been above any expectations we could have hoped for. Yuriy's recently repurposed my mother's 1951 class ring from 5th Avenue HS (a historic landmark in Pittsburgh), into a pendent (just beautiful), and is in the process of redesigning the band to preserve the date. Just recently, Yuriys repaired and restored my mother's bracelet from childhood, which is almost 100 years old, she's 93 (absolutely incredible)! To have these memories preserved is such a treasure. In addition to the restorations, we have purchased some pretty amazing watches, rings and (necklaces, btw, that was a big surprise you found for my husband), I LOVE it, thank you Misha!!! We're plenty familiar with the pricing of many jewelry shops, and by far Yuriy's has the best service, best selection, best quality and the best prices! I would rate this company a 0 if there's an option. I purchased a 7 stone diamond ring in December…read more2023. A stone has fallen out of this ring 4 times in 9 months. Customer service did fix it twice daily easily. Clearly the jewelers are not qualified because stones continued to fall out despite them adjusting and checking all of the settings. After the second time, customer service was impossible to get a hold of. They would tell us they'd call or email back and wouldn't. A supervisor would never return a call and they have yet to fix my ring after the 4th time the stone has fallen out. We have called and emailed over 20 times and still have yet to be helped. Most responses go unanswered. I would never purchase anything from this jewelry store again because not only is the quality of the item unacceptable, customer service is worse than that.

Helzberg diamonds is another in mall jewelry store that is located in South Hills Village directly…read moreacross from Kay jewelry. The set up is very similar. They carry anything from lab created gemstones to genuine diamonds. They also have their own line of Pandora like charms and bracelets if you want to invest in those. They have their own credit card and occasionally you will get a mailer offering you a discount if you spend a certain amount . On this particular visit I had seen in their catalog purple sapphires and wanted to find out more about them. The saleslady was very nice. She told me that they had very few but they were rings. She also told me that they were genuine as opposed to lab created. I thought the color was beautiful but with the diamond enhancement on all the rings made it appear too dressy. She said I could wear it for everyday. I normally prefer to showcase my gemstone when I buy a ring. I also saw they carried blue diamonds. She told me the blue diamonds they have in stock are heat treated in order to bring out the color. They only get natural ones in from time to time. I have done some research on blue diamonds and I know that they are very rare and extremely expensive. If I were in the least bit interested in them then I would seek out a higher end jewelry store. Helzberg does offer a warranty program for an additional fee depending upon the cost and make of your purchase. Again you need to have it cleaned and inspected there. She did tell me that if I were interested in a stand alone piece it could be custom made once they get the gemstone in. There are only two Helzburg diamonds in the Pittsburgh area with the other located at the mall of Robinson. They do carry a nice selection of jewelry but since they really didn't have what I was looking for I thanked her and left.
