The owner was communicative and helpful with how he would recommend an engraving of a watch I wanted to have done.

Great job while I popped into giant eagle for a little shopping. The owner had to come out as the shop is not wheelchair accessible

I've taken family jewelry and coins to a few local jewellers to cash in on their value, because I…read moreneeded the cash more than the jewelry. If I was rating Treasure Hunt on its own, I'd probably give it 2.5 stars. However, I give it an extra star in comparison to the other places I've gone - technically, I give it 3.5 stars, but that's not possible here, so they get an extra half a star from the website. I'm not sure if their prices are better or worse than anywhere else, because I never took anything to multiple jewelers to compare, and the prices of precious metals change every day. However, the jeweler closest to my home, to where I took the majority of my pieces, didn't tell me until my 3rd visit that the gems in my jewelry were worthless to them. If they had told me that from the time I first called them to inquire about selling my jewelry, I would have saved my gemstones, because I bought most of my jewelry for the gems and overall look, not the metal. Instead, I lost all those precious gems! Treasure Hunt is very up front about what they will be doing with your jewelry once you sell it to them, and that open dialogue made it easier to ask questions. They aren't secretive about their prices - other jewelers say their prices are posted for all to see, but I can never find them! I know what a spot price is, and how to adjust it for 14K, 10K, etc., gold, and I understand these businesses need to make profits, but what they give me needs to make sense. I'm on a fixed income, otherwise I would have saved my family jewelry. Treasure Hunt didn't make me feel like someone took advantage of me. But they did make me feel like my business wasn't terribly important, which is why I can't give them 5 stars. And they are out of my way to get to - their locations aren't convenient for me. Btw, people who publicly imply that a respected business is participating in illegal activity with zero proof are committing libel, *not* exercising free speech. If you have proof that a business is participating in illegal activity, you need to report it to the proper authorities, not post nasty comments on Yelp.

What i'm purchasing then? The sales person. Why do you have to message somebody for the price of which you're selling. And she always charges me $15.75 over spot price. Generic. silver. But the young male sales clerk is awesome.

Great experience. Brought in years of jewelry sitting in the darkness of jewelry boxes -- multiple…read moreengagement rings, gold and silver earrings. Carrie helped me, taking time with many pieces and asking questions. I felt as if care was being taken of my life laid out in front of her.i had not done this before but knew to let go of any appraised values and sentimental values. I placed a number in my head as to have something to accept the letting go, making it worthwhile to do so. Funny, she said a number so close to that (over actually) that I felt relief. I let go. I didn't know how I would feel parting with jewelry given me eons ago or bought for special occasions, or milestone markers of life lived. But once the dollars were handed to me I shopped just to find out a couple prices of rings in their cases for sale and, to my surprise, yet again, 2 rings were very affordable and fit my finger. Sooo, I bought both for $40 and I am so happy. I had been putting my life on hold for several years now. Today I moved forward. Carrie was terrific to work with.

Not only did the lady buy some of our gold jewelry, she gave us great advice on the pieces she was not interested in. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I also appreciate the fact that everything is weighed in front of us and Carrie told us what she was looking at and how she came up with her decisions. We will definitely be going back in the future.
