MALA beauty bar is finally here!!…read more Im so excited, because Ive been going to my aesthetician Yogitha for many years...and now she has her own private spa suite!! Located within Sola Salon Studios, MALA beauty bar offers different kinds of facials, waxing services, and eyelash extensions. And Yogitha is a master in skin care..just look at her skin if you need convincing! She's also very knowledgeable in working with different skin types and tones....real talk!!!! During the COVID quarantine, I went to another aesthetician for a brazilian wax because I wasn't able to see Yogitha..and I ended up having horrible ingrown hair breakouts...yikes!! I Instantly regretted cheating on Yogitha ;) Well, thankfully Yogitha became available, and she helped clear up my unsightly breakout with her skin care regimen....and all is well again! Parking is plentiful, and the suite is conveniently located on the 2nd floor, and offers tons of privacy with double layered curtains covering the sliding door of the suite. I appreciate that Yogitha is so through in sanitizing between customers, checking temperatures, offering hand sanitizer, and requiring everyone (herself included) to wear a mask at all times. Yelp peeps...you will not be disappointed in getting your services at MALA beauty bar!! Highly recommend!

Esthertiques is a one room wellness studio run by Maria. I left smarter than I walked in and have a…read moresense for how to treat my skin for my desired results. I love anything spa and wellness and I've had plenty of facials, but this one was different. Maria starts with the consultation where she ensures she agrees with your consensus of what type of skin you have and why you're there to see her. She shares facts and data points that I found super useful when evaluating what I needed to change to take care of my face. You'll get some steam to open pores, extraction, mask, massage, moisture, etc. I opted for the biogenic facial. It's ideal for those of you that want to start with a fresh palette. She'll also tell you what to do when you leave her office and how to see continued results. Yes, I left with some products, but they're all natural, organic, and I purchased the core products I don't already have in my (overindulgent) product world. The coolest thing Maria introduced me to and recommended - this electromagnetic something or other that she'd run over some type of bee pollen powder to almost create a barrier between your face, the cleansing it just got, and helping with healing and closing everything back up. It's apparently very common in the Ukraine and Russia. It doesn't hurt, just feels like an electric current is going across your face. I can't describe that eloquently, but it's cool and I bought into it. Maria will fix you up. Come here for some improvements. She offers a variety of services. I'll be back.

Even before going in, I had a gripe with the website lacking in information and prices - why not just make it easy on your customer and just include that info online?? For those wondering, we paid: - $85 for a facial with enzyme peel and extractions (Twinkle Twinkle) - $85 for European facial (Above the Stars). Was supposed to come with massaging for $110 but she forgot so we got a discount. When we got there, we were invited to a very warm and cozy space, but there was a misunderstanding on the services. I had asked for back to back or simultaneous facials (if possible) for myself and my husband. Sarah said that she could do simultaneous facials, so I took that to mean that there would be two rooms and estheticians on site and we would each have our separate treatments at the same time. But no... instead, it was just her when we got there and she led us both to the same room and said that one could sit in a chair while the other was getting their facial done. This was a bit odd to me, but I went with it... she performed an enzyme peel on my face and then put a mask on, and then my husband and I switched spots. While my husband was getting his first 20-30 minutes of treatment, I sat on a chair uncomfortably scrolling through my phone... not exactly a spa experience. And then we switched back and we each got another 10-15 minutes. It felt very unprofessional, especially at the price you are paying. In total, we were there for 1.5 hours. How exactly does that timing add up when we are paying full price for two services, I don't know. Another gripe - there was a lot of time during the facial spent on preparing and opening things while things "sat" on our faces. That is a huge pet peeve for me when getting facials because I am paying for a full hour of service, so that's what I should get. If there is a mask on my face, you can still be massaging my scalp/neck/hands at the same time. If I wanted to lay down with a mask on, I could have done that at home. Now down to the actual quality of facial treatments - meh. A week later, my face is STILL peeling like a lizard from the enzyme peel. That would be ok except that she had not mentioned the possibility of that happening at all. A few days after, my husband's face looked pretty splotchy, and he is blessed with pretty normal and clear skin to begin with. Luckily, we didn't get these facials before a big event like a wedding or something. And also - none of the products she used even smelled good and the towels were pretty rough. The towels smelled faintly like cigarette smoke to me... ick. Little things, but again, I'm paying for an experience when I get a facial and this wasn't it. Maybe she was having an off day, i don't know. But for us, we won't be coming back and will instead be driving the 1+ hour to Maryland to go the esthetician I know and love.

I was so embarrassed when I looked down at my phone and realized I showed up on the wrong day! I had the right date in my phone, but the wrong date in my head:) Still, G was so kind to go above and beyond to manually schedule me for another appointment that would work best for my schedule going forward. At no point did she make me feel uncomfortable to speak to me in a demeaning tone. Instead, she laughed it off and said, "no problem! Let's see when I get you in!" Here is the real humbling part.... G scheduled me for a 8 am appointment on Saturday because that is what worked best for ME. This is OUTSIDE of regular business hours. Who does that?! A true professional, one who is passionate about her business and client's needs. I even received a courtesy reminder the day before. Feedback specific to G, the owner: G is a thorough professional with a passion for skin care. She is kind, honest, and laid back. She took the time to understand my skin and explain what she was doing. Additionally, she is a great conversationalist, one who goes above and beyond to make sure her client (GROUPON CLIENT) is comfortable. Feedback on skin/service: My skin feels amazing and I can already see the difference. It feels smoother and softer to the touch. It is important to point out that I actually purchased my groupon because of my friend's glowing face. More specifically, I noticed that my friend's skin was brighter, more youthful, and literally glowing... She referred me to G's skincare center and assured me that I would not be dissapointed. I decided to go the Groupon route since I wanted to "try it out" before really becoming a vested client. After just this one visit, I have no doubt that I will be returning for monthly visits. I would highly recommend G's Ageless Skin Center to anyone looking for a truly remarkable experience. That's really what it is! Not just a facial...but an experience that leaves you feeling relaxed, pampered, and of course- glowing:) I can't wait to go back!
