Even though our wedding is almost a year away, we already placed an order for customized purple yarmulkes for our male guests with www.kippah.com (also known as Mazel Skull Caps). (That is so me, by the way, to take care of such a little detail before so many big picture things are done.) Anyway, we ordered free fabric swatches in various shades of purple from a number of different companies, and kippah.com offered a reasonable price and our favorite of the shades of purple. They were also the only company that sent us a whole yarmulke instead of a small fabric square, so that helped us get a better idea of what it would look like, so we decided to go with them. I placed the order on July 20th. They did say delivery would take 2-4 weeks. I really needed the order delivered to Maine (the location of the wedding) by August 11th (the end of my trip there). Even though this was more than 3 weeks away at the time of order I paid extra for rush shipping. On August 9th, I still had not received any shipment notification so I tried to call the company to change the shipping address to my parents house in Iowa, figuring they could just bring the yarmulkes with them to Maine when they came for the wedding next summer. I could not reach the company by phone, so I sent them an email asking them to change the address and they confirmed that they did. A few days later we got word from my aunt, who was at my family's house in Maine, that the yarmulkes had arrived. Needless to say, I was extremely NOT thrilled with Mazel Skull Cap that they arrived in Maine after they had confirmed they were shipping them to Iowa, and with absolutely no notice to us. However, we then we found out that they also sent what appears to be a complete shipment to Iowa! So I guess they just got some wires crossed, but they ended up getting the shipment to the place we requested. The yarmulkes are beautiful and the got the inside inscription right. They could really work on their customer communication, though. & I don't recommend paying for rush shipping, as it seems to be a waste. read more

Wow. What a shame this company has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever encountered. The woman I spoke to not only put me on hold without notice, but I was on hold for 3 minutes, she came back with "yeah, whats up? What were you calling about again...oh, dont worry, yeah, it will go out in time for your wedding", without even getting my wedding date. How the hell would she know without getting the information?! Mind you, I placed the order September 3, its October 1, and I have no information from them. They are happy to take your money and give you absolutely nothing in return. I get that there are a lot of high holidays this time of year, but they need to let their clients know---I think 6 weeks is more then enough to get this stuff done. All I have to say is wow. As a Jewish person, I am saddened that I will never give my business to this company again. Very sad. I would not recommend them if they were the last company providing this service. Go to your local judaica shop, spend the extra money, and get far better service from a company that appreciates your business. This place certainly DOES not. read more

I'm disappointed in myself because I should've checked Yelp before using this company. Probably would've saved me time, effort, stress, and money. My fiancè and I order about 85 personalized kippahs from this website in mid August (our wedding is in November, but I wanted to check things off our to do list). We chose the font based on the preview shown on the website, which I've attached to this review. We liked it, and placed the order. I think it was around $150-$180. But we were excited. Some time goes by, I did feel it took awhile for the kippahs to ship, but we had time so I wasn't worried. Big mistake. Kippahs finally come early/mid September and the font is so screwed up! Our wedding date is 11/3/18, and it literally is an 8 instead of a 3. I panicked initially because I thought I put the wrong date in the order! I did not, this was 100% their mistake. When we asked what they could do, they said we could order new ones for half price. I'm sorry, you made a complete mistake that is 1000% your fault, and you want us to spend more money? I couldn't believe it. After a ton of back and forth, we finally ordered new kippahs with new font for $60. We asked for a picture before they went to print as to avoid any further issues, we never got one. The new kippahs are fine, but I'm disgusted with the complete lack of customer service. I'm also disappointed because I loved the initial font we picked. This website really sucks, and does not deserve your business. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

Couldn't be more disappointed in my order. My fiancee' and I ordered 60 silver suede kippot for our wedding. About 20 of the 60 kippot have messy strings hanging on them and large, random orange markings. We were extremely disappointed, as we paid for 60 and only 40 of them are presentable for a wedding. We are hoping that the customer service can right this wrong in time for our wedding. I do not recommend Mazel Skull Caps. read more

First of all, if I could give no stars I would, but unfortunately Yelps makes you give at least one. DO NOT BUY from here!!! WORST customer service. I ordered kippahs for my wedding and ordered the logo, "wedding of," instead I received "wedding reception of." I asked them to fix them and send me what I ordered. The best they came back with was for me to ship them back and pay 50 cents per kippah. On my order confirmation it says "logo three," which on their websites "wedding of" is the third logo down. They don't even send you a confirmation with a picture incase they made a mistake on their end, which they did. Do yourself a favor and buy from somewhere else! Super disappointing! read more

I have dealt with and ordered from many companies in my life but I have never encountered a company that has such little regard for their customers. I placed an order with them for kippahs for my wedding on October 11th. Their website indicated that orders take 2-4 weeks for delivery. It has been more than 6 weeks and I have not yet received my order. I have emailed several times without receiving any response. I have left voice-mail messages and not received any calls back, either. I am only able to speak with someone when I persistently call multiple times a day. Something this small and uncomplicated should be not the most stressful part of my wedding planning! I would highly recommend ordering from another website! read more

I needed to order Kippot for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah and after having a lousy experience in person with my local Judaica store I chose to look online. My daughter wanted purple and green to match her theme colors. We ordered samples to see the embossed heart kippot and the green samples they sent me were great to choose from. I placed an order for 42 eggplant and 42 emerald embossed kippot with silver imprinting on March 4 and was worried with their 2-4 week window. I spoke to someone on the webchat on their website and was told I had enough time for delivery. I was also happy that I met the minimum to ship and that I could split the colors we chose. They arrived in three weeks and my daughter was so excited when she opened the box! So after they arrived, and I was four days away from my simcha I panicked that I would be short. In a panic I called and spoke with Isaac who was more than happy to help me out. I ordered two dozen more eggplant ones, imprinted and they arrived on Thursday, just in time to go to the temple and have them for her Friday night Bat Mitzvah. I have never written a review before but I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I placed an order in January 2014 and was supposed to receive my order a month later. After emailing them twice when I hadn't received my order, they finally responded that it was to be shipped that day and I would receive a tracking number. Of course, 2 days later no tracking number. Finally, the order was sent (2 months after I placed the order) and they printed my name incorrectly (note: I had spelled my name correctly when I placed the order, they just decided to give it new spelling). I called them and sent it back to get fixed. They told me it would take two weeks to get it back to me. Of course, it didn't come back until a month later and I was charged $95 by the courier (note: I was NOT charged the first time). Now I call and they put me on hold for 10 minutes. Now, they say they will refund the $95 - but we will see if that actually happens. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they will ADD to your party planning stresses. read more

My Temple has been using Mazel Skull Caps as a fundraiser for years. I, myself, have been doing the ordering for the last 4 years. They have always been accommodating with special requests. Today for the first time a congregant wasn't happy with her order. I called the office and explained the situation. They are rerunning the order and sending overnight mail for a Bar Mitzvah this Saturday no cost to us. I would say that is excellent customer service. I hate to give bad reviews to anyone, but I feel compelled to make sure nobody uses this incompetent company. I ordered kippahs for my son's bar mitzvah over a month ago that were themed with the whole bar mitzvah. It took a month for the order and then arrived a week prior to the bar-mitzvah with the wrong name inscribed on the 150 kippahs! When I contacted them they could not fulfill the same order in time for the Bar-Mitzvah. Hindy gave me the excuse that this was a "busy time for them". If it is too busy of a time, then they should hire more staff or limit the orders they can take. Instead, we will have no kippahs for my son's special day. I regret ever trying to use them and hope nobody tries using them either. Reading other reviews, it looks like similar things have happened to other people. This company does not deserve your time or money....please go elsewhere to ensure they don't ruin your special occasion. read more
