It's also a great stop for that last minute lottery ticket. The convenient thing about the lottery tickets here, if your looking for a scratch off ticket they are conveniently located where you can easily see them and have numbers too so a scratch off can be ordered according to a number. I walked in for a winning lottery ticket but in hindsight I wasn't provided a winning ticket. The name sums us this mart perfectly, maybe next time I'll be provided a winning lottery ticket, worth millions.

These are big time $$$ differences and they add up. Watch out! As a consumer they should honor their mistakes. They said I should read. Today, I didn't bring my readers, sorry. But when you see 10 items on the shelf above the $9.99 sign, you would automatically think okay, it's $9.99, but at the register it's $12.99. I snapped a picture to prove that there were more than one box above the price. (I could have clapped back and said then your workers should read and be able to put things on the right shelf). Produce that's rotten is sold so make sure you are opening up boxes and packages. Wish I took pictures of the rotting produce. At least I didn't buy those. Saw my receipt that they charged $1.29/lb for my Korean radish which should have been 79 cents. UGH! Guys, pay attention to how they are ringing you up. Two transactions in a row with multiple mistakes. I asked to talk with the manager. The female worker said she is not here and will come at 12noon. Then said actually will come tomorrow. Went to the Customer Service desk and the guy there said the manager is in the bathroom. Both workers started to talk to each other in Spanish. The female worker telling him, tell her the manager is not coming back until tomorrow. I told them I can speak Spanish and I understood everything they said. They got quiet very quickly. Don't cry for me, Argentina. This is basically my dream evening. Alone doesn't mean lonely for this little lady. I've got my opinions to keep me warm. Hashtag Favorite Valentines. After sitting in mind-numbing traffic for a 3-hour drive from the north shore, I started to get the 4th meal hunger pangs, but was dreading the thought of going out to eat on Valentine's Day and having to look at people who weren't stars of the show 'Oz', my current obsession, if yo haven't figured that out already. I decided to utilize the #3 speed dial on my phone and put in a take-out order at Downers Grove's Thai Cafe... only everyone else in the area had those same plans so instead of my order taking the typical 15 minutes, it was going to take 35. My plan was to wait it out in the strip mall parking lot and go in when could see my order come up through the window so I would have to talk to as few people as possible, but then I saw Downtown Food Mart just a storefront away in the same strip, and decided I'd spend my time in the rather dicey looking convenience mart in hopes of them having Takis, my favorite snack/breakfast, lunch, dinner food. I go in, and think, 'erm, this place is kinda set up like a crap hole.' Empty displays, weird non-stacking of 89 cent cat food cans that for whatever reason made my blood boil, and no Takis in the snack and chip aisle. What the hell? This place is NOT for anyone with a hint of OCD. I still had a good 15 minutes before my bulk Thai food order would be ready, so I decided to continue to peruse every aisle, and the more I looked, the more I liked. They had a pretty good selection of wine. It's over-priced, obvi, but pretty much all the wines are discount wines anyone so still nothing that'll break your bank. I was super pissed about the non-presence of Takis until I got to the marquee, front and center stand by the register that was chock full of Takis. Like, 4 different kinds, and all were super cheap at $1.39, compared to the $2.49 I'd pay at other grocery stores. Bada bing! I'm checking out and the guy behind the counter doesn't mention anything about the stupid non-holiday that's occurring, which I greatly appreciate, and instead asks if I like spicy stuff. Well, heck yes! I live for spicy! And then he proceeds to give me his spicy food recommendations and we swap ghost pepper stories for the next 5 minutes and part by exchanging names. His name is Raj. Raj is awesome. I will be back to purchase more Takis (possibly also overpriced wine and cat food if the hour is right) from Raj.

She went in to grab some detergent on sale, and as soon as we got to the register, the cashier--Mahendra, an older Indian man--called his manager over, claiming he needed approval for the purchase. He then said, "you people come in and buy all the detergent on sale to resell it." My sister immediately confronted him, asking, "Who is 'you people'?" He then claimed she wasn't buying the detergent for her home. How does he think he knows what someone's purchasing it for? She had 4 Tide, 4 Gain, and 4 fabric softeners because they were 4/$10--perfectly within the sale limits. When the manager arrived, even she seemed taken aback by his comments. She ended up ringing us up herself because she clearly didn't agree with what he said. I initially pulled up to the drive through and sat for approximately 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging I was there. I also pushed the call button 3-4 times to no avail. At one point Shumita walked over to the register at the drive-through, and walked away without acknowledging me. I eventually went inside to get my Rx and complain about the lack of courteousness/service. Instead of attempting any level of service recovery, Shumita continued to repeat that they were understaffed and mentioned that I could complain to CVS about it. She also stated that they'd been working all day without a break as if this made the poor service acceptable. Bottomline is that she missed the point. My frustration was about the lack of courteousness. Simply acknowledging that I was waiting and letting me know they would be with me as soon as possible would have sufficed. Shumita didn't seem to understand this, nor did she express any sentiment of accountability, offered no apology, and ended my transaction with "here ya go". This is a ripe opportunity for employee coaching.

Gates were closed, yet some lady was behind the counter. I gave the benefit of the doubt when i politely asked if and what time they would reopen, or if they were closed. the red signs on the wall in front of where i was standing (from the angle I was at) shows open from 8am-8pm most days. It was 12:40. I did NOT see the monitor to the left that shows they are closed from 12:30-1pm. honest mistake on my part, but to completely ignore someone genuinely asking a question... looking in my direction at me, and NOT respond at all, is beyond rude. some folks would slap this little girl for that, but Im not on that type of time. My point is, What if i someone was illiterate, and could not read? What if someone genuinely does not see a monitor that's positioned off from the direction of the pharmacy gate, such as myself? So i went to the front and politely asked the clerk if the pharmacist was deaf (to give zara some grace) The clerk at the front responds, "no", as i follow up with why I asked that to begin with. To my surprise, as I walk back towards the pharmacy to ask again, she's mouthing off about me asking if she was deaf to some counter part she's on the phone with... how are you so confident to be yapping like that behind a closed gate, like you wont open back up in 15 minutes? You dont know what kind of mood people may be in, or what they are willing to do because of your lack of acknowledgement and respect. I stepped out of my character...being self effacing, I did call her out her name for not being able to easily respond or even point in the direction of the sign (which again, i did not see until going back to the gate after asking the register lady if this zara chick is deaf. I can admit where Im wrong. I can own where I messed up, but this is the person thats in charge of dispensing medication to people?! ‍ who raised you?! yapping behind a closed gate like you're in high school. Parents definitely should've Beat you more as a child because your Bedside manner is beyond horrible. you should not be working with people and definitely should not be in charge of dispensing medications at that station on your own.
