I visited with Kismet for an evaluation based on my Dentists plan of care that we discussed in his office. She didn't agree with his plan of care, which I defended and was confident in. I've been wearing partials on an off for the past 10 years and use to wearing only lowers or only uppers depending on what in my mouth was bothering me. I figured this was an intermediary lower denture and in 6 months to a year after being evaluated post extractions we would see where we would be at. I understand she was not confident in our plan and didn't not want to help. But I think if you had told me this instead of starting to mold my mouth for dentures and rambling on about how wrong this all was: was not necessary. Plus, your mentioning of yours and your husbands nursing back round. Which I am also an x-nurse. But I actually worked in the field for close to 3 decades. It seemed we ended up getting both very worked up. You are really no longer a practicing licensed nurse, are you? I don't think that works for your advantage. I think if you cared about the people who enter your business, access the written order first, make your mind up and then act. Don't start an impression on the person before your mind is made up. You were asking me questions putting me on the defensive and expecting me to respond while I had an impression in my mouth. I don't believe that was fair treatment. I came home and Blood pressure was thorough the roof. Realized my Ativan prescription was really outdated and now I have an appointment with my primary physician. When I initially called your office, I explained to Chris over the phone what the referral was about. You've been in the business for 4 decades you haven't run across this type of request before? I would think with your years of experience you would have handled the situation better. But that's up to you. It's your business. Like I said, you didn't have to take impressions of my mouth. Your feelings should have been discussed prior to impression taking. How exactly you ended the meeting with me, I do not recall. But you and I disagreed and I belief that's how it ended and you could not help me and my check was returned. No worries we won't be seeing each other again. Best Wishes. read more

Having your teeth removed is such a tremendous blessing and a curse. The process takes, what feels like forever. A lot of changes and healing and getting used to your new teeth. Kismet is the best. Strange place, not at all welcoming. And they are so defensive and unhelpful and find a way to wrong you should you be concerned about the denture fit , function or look. As if they couldn't care a hoot and they don't. I found multiple other denture professionals who actually listened to me, validated my concerns, agreed their denture was improper and made new dentures, Dentures can be daunting and the process unknown. , it is ok to be kind, to educate and help someone through. I have to say I was impressed with the appearance of the clinic, and I was glad that I made the appointment. I am really sensitive about wearing dentures, but knew it was about time that I had it replaced, I had the upper for over 17 years and the lower denture implant (which I have no complaints for less than 3 years). I told her the issues I was having with my upper plate and said that relining them was out of the question and replacing them was the only way to go. I agree. This was $800 No problem. But then she saw I had the lower implant and the story changes. It is her ethical duty to replace both dentures (even if I was not having issues with the other) Cost $2900 I was told all the reasons, which may be true. Also I was made aware of all her training, education etc etc etc. What I needed and what I wanted or what I could afford doesnt make any difference. Alterative options would not even be discussed..It was this or the highway. I am not an uneducated person and am aware and appreciate what she was saying, BUT I feel there are ways to make your mouth a little more comfortable with out a lecture or perhaps of helping a client compromise on dental issues. Be very wary I really wanted to be able to give a goid review and also know they coerce good reviews and bribe others to change them for they did that to me and another I know of And without addressing the thoughtful concerns or appreciating feedback Something very off Very strange people Of course carrying a heavy, tragic load and heartbreak that we all feel a piece of for them, Amid our own sorrows But still need to provide the service they get paid to do And respond to real concerns And listen Please listen more before you think you know or have heard me I've been given incorrect information many times, and doubt their knowledge and ability to resolve problems and try to help,. Or care From day one their denture has not fit and I've told them many many times I cannot wear them and cannot understand why they seem to not hear me or try to remedy. I'm out over 3000.00 and still cannot wear them over one hour without pain, sores, taking them out, losing my working ability and so much . And I so wanted them to fit and trusted them and have taken responsibility but they have not. My experience has been excruciating and painful and they have blamed me ,(besides little fixes that did not last, or defected and whenever I attempted to present a theory she quickly shut me down with some lame excuse. ) they never addressed the core problem and misfit of the denture and will not and have not been willing to help me. Or even really hear me and the info I have gained from other professionals of ways to remedy Some of there work was laughable, rushed or intentionally malformed. I was embarrassed for them and was stunned they would present such work with malformed bizarre gum line and very painful ., unable to wear and again no hint of owning up. Also a surface so rough my gums bled and are chaffed. This is not standard and not like previous dentures surface. They do not encourage you to come back, do not probe or query if they fit better. I'm reluctant to ask for adjustment even on a recent denture fix, No my mouth has not changed much in 5 months as she tried to say The repair was bizarre They are just not interested nor able to remedy ill fitting denture work they made Go elsewhere if you can. And they don't seem to communicate with each other and I've traveled multiple times in vain after they did nit show up for scheduled appt or told me incorrectly when to drop off/pick up and never never have owned up to such rude behavior . Not real bright but can talk it up I would be embarrassed to put my name on such careless work and could never be so aloof to a customers anguish and pain caused by their dentures while trying to deflect any responsibility There is more but they have been so inconsistent and extremely rude to me and the woman cannot listen to any feedback or concerns and assumes before she even grasps and then shifts the blame. The couple that own and run this business are horrible! They sale you on themselves. The husband us downright mean and rude and They make You pay upfront. Then good luck getting what You need. When You ask for dentures to be fixed, the lady makes a point of telling you that "she has her own life so don't expect her to drop everything for you" the patient. My Mother is in Her 70's and on a fixed income. It's been over 6 months and the dentures they fitted her for,are horrible. They are to wide for her mouth and they are causing pain on the roof of her mouth. We have called and they still have not fixed these issues. The woman has become rude and ignorant toward my mother now. They keep giving her a temporary realignment. Its a foul tasting putty that stays soft in the dentures for a week while you can not remove them from your mouth. It's impossible to eat for the week it is hardening and she is still in pain because the woman refuses to sand down the piece on the top denture plate. These people take advantage of this mostly Senior community. They leave them in pain, unable to comfortably eat, smile with confidence and worst of all, the empty their customers wallets! read more

I am about to be 75 yrs old. Recently I had an abutment failure losing a bicuspid which anchored a 3 unit gold bridge with porcelain facings. That cost me about $6500.00 after the root canals, prep for the two abutment teeth and the bridge. I had to make a decision between having costly implants, or a removeable partial denture. I am quite familiar with the process as I was a dental tech, casting ticonium metal frameworks and gold crowns, also a maxillofacial surgical assistant, and Fleet Marine Force medic during the Viet Nam war. I had seen many a patient with similar issues as mine. I also was involved with 100s of full mouth extraction patients who were having immediate full denture insertions. Those were always troublesome because so many ignored the instructions given for post-op and post-insertion care. It is essential that every prosthodontic patient follow instructions. I was referred to the MAYO DENTURE CENTER by my general dentist, and my endodontist. I was extremely impressed with the facility, and the extremely knowledgeable staff at MAYO. Kismet and Chris were nothing but totally professional in the approach to correcting my dental dilemma. And... their flat rate of $1450.00 for the entire procedure of a cast metal framework, and acrylic denture was more than fair. If one were to go to a prosthodondist DDS who specialized in crown and bridge and dentures it would have be much more expensive. We are fortunate in Brookings, OR to have such a fine facility offering great services. I just received the removeable partial denture. After a few minor adjustments, and getting used to wearing it, I'm confident chewing will be a lot better, and... I can smile again! - thanks to the MAYO DENTURE CENTER.
