I had to call Maynard Hadley for help getting out of a ditch in Forest Park, Jacksonville. I ended up calling back several times to cancel and rebook the tow, and the ladies who I spoke to (Kathy and Nadine) were very sweet and helpful each time, despite my indecisiveness about booking the tow. Once I did decide to, they dispatched the driver within 2 hours, and I met him at my vehicle. Cole was not only professional and knowledgeable, but he was also kind and had a great attitude--considering it was snowy, wet, and 40 degrees out. He didn't complain once, and even tried to make me feel better about the situation I got myself in. He worked quickly and assessed the situation. Once he decided what to do, he explained it to me and asked if I wanted to hang out in his rig and watch. He ended up pulling my vehicle out without causing any damage, and then followed me down the hill to make sure I was able to get out. I was really impressed by him and I really loved his attitude. I would highly recommend their service. The fee was extremely reasonable given how difficult and miserable the conditions were. They are partners with AAA. I called them directly after the AAA tow request to make sure they received the request and to get an eta. Their customer service was immediate, pleasant and professional. Dale (the tow truck driver) was pleasant and professional. He called me when he was close to confirm the location. "Dale" was meticulous in hooking up my car (which is quite low to the ground) and he is obviously a seasoned professional. My daughter was in a car accident and Dicks Towing was called to get the car. I asked the man to tow it to my house. He said that wasn't a good idea because if the insurance adjuster wanted to see the car there would be more availability at the tow yard. I still wanted it towed to my house but now I see they wanted the car. My daughter needed to go to the emergency room and I was panicked. So I made the bad decision to have it towed to their yard. He then asked me if I wanted it to go to Ashland or Medford? I said Ashland and it went to Medford. When I called to ask about the car the man on the phone was very abrupt, rude and inconsiderate. I know now that this place wants your car. They are of no help what so ever! I am a single mom and this was my daughters first car, a gift from her Aunt. Now the price to get it out is so high we cannot afford it. So guess what? They get to keep the car! These people are crooks in my eyes. No sympathy for anyone. Their tow truck driver was stone faced and rude as well. He was just hooking up to the car as fast as he could and not answering my questions. Here my daughter is sitting there with a huge contusion on her head and this man could care less! I didn't know people like this existed. No compassion for others. This is a huge loss for us. For my friend and me, our vision of a superhero was a tow truck driver named Frank. We were stuck in the snow. And not just stuck, but SERIOUSLY in need of someone to pull us out. Called roadside assistance, and they sent Mister Frank in his awesome chariot of towing. Frank worked tirelessly for over an hour, first pulling out a guy in a truck who had gotten himself stuck literally 20 minutes before the tow truck arrived, and then helping us get out. If it weren't for Frank, my friend and I would still be stuck up there in the cold snow! If I ever need a tow in the future, I WILL use this company again!!! read more

The dispatcher called me twice to keep me informed. My driver Richard Fisk was friendly, professional and fantastic at his job. He knew the repair shop in my town and after dropping off my car around 2:30am, he drove me to my home and carried my luggage to my door. wow............simple tow.... truck broke down at our home. All seemed okay. When the driver insisted upon a signature on a blank paper. Said he'll fill it out later. What?? Nothing showing what he's picking up or our name address, etc. I said it should be filled out. He told me that he's been doing this for over 20 years and just needs my signature. I said I need it filled out...he reluctantly filled out about our truck, but not our name, address or where it will be towed. I filled that out along with my signature and he had a fit!!!! I managed to high center my car on a retaining wall. It was quite a predicament I got self into. I called AAA and Pat from the towing company came straight away. After some head scratching and chin rubbing, he managed to get my car off the wall and back to safe, flat ground without any damage what so ever. We needed a tow, after my car died while driving, in 100 degree weather. died in an area where there is really no shoulder. I called our insurance who called Maynard's and Maynard's said it would be a 90 minute wait. At 7:00pm. I called two more times to see if they were coming and kept being told we're the next call. It's now almost 10pm, my car is in a bad area and we're afraid of car break ins or a wreck. Last thing Maynard's told me, was that they had a shift change and "sorry", "I'll make some calls"...never heard back. Worst tow company experience I've ever had. I would never recommend this company who is fine conducting business this way and leaving people screwed at night on a weekday. They didn't even care. read more

We got a super friendly tow truck driver out to us within an hour of calling AAA for a tow. Our driver worked really fast, gave us a ride back into town, and let us wait inside the office at the yard so we could stay warm waiting for our ride to pick us up. He also helped us out by knocking down the cost of the tow. We had skidded off the icy road into a muddy ditch on our way back from Crater Lake and called AAA for roadside assistance. They directed us to Dick's towing aka Maynard's. A police officer waited with us for the 45 minutes it took Dale and his truck to reach us from Medford. It was obvious that the police knew the towing company and workers and even called ahead for ETA. Dale and Mike were both very professional, cheerful and efficient. They knew what they were doing and quickly popped my kids and I into the warm tow truck while they worked to tow the minivan out of the ditch. They even went above and beyond to help call motel 6 for accommodation info on the way to Medford, since it was dark. They also dropped us off at the hotel, gave us a roll of duct tape and some bungee cords for my husband to hopefully pop our bumper back in for our 7 hour drive back to the Bay Area. Luckily, damage was mainly to the front bumper, the engine worked and no air bags went off. Call your own tow company and save 75%. I called a competing company the next day and they said it would have cost about $100 for the same tow if I called them myself. OH MY GOD, Dick from Dick's towing saved us! We blew a flat, had horrific service from Walt's towing putting our spare on (their negligence almost killed us) and Dick saved the day when we broke down a second time. He got us safely into Medford, got us to Firestone (who were also great) and even went so far as to help us find the best hotel in the most convenient and safest area. Oh yeah, and considering it was sweltering and in the 90s, he even gave us bottled water. We talked about the service we received for days after and were truly grateful for all their help. Well, there aren't MANY ways to screw up roadside assistance. I called AAA to help with a flat, and they connected me w/ Maynard. 20 minute wait, not bad. But 25 minutes go by and I call Maynard. The lady politely told me she sent the truck designated to come to me out to someone else. No explanation given, except that it would be another 30 minutes. Alright... 40 minutes go by, so I call back. She apologetically explains there was a communication breakdown with her truck driver, and that he was in another area, so she'd have to send out another truck. It'd be another 10 minutes. I'm not an AAA customer, however I am not from the area so I want to use a AAA tow when I broke down just outside of Crater Lake. It obviously took a while for them to get to me, but they were very professional. My wife gets car sick pretty easily so I was worried about the ride back to Medford, but the driver didn't affect her at all without even having to mention it. Call for a tow lady says, it won't be more than 200 and a truck will be there in under and hour. 2.5 hours later the truck arrives. Driver proceeds to curse aloud and chain-smoke whilst putting on chains with no bungees(takes almost an hour) get up the to the car he pulls it out of the snow in 15min. Doesn't tow me out but just gets me unstuck then charges me for 4.5 hours, 4x4 fee, and a chain fee when it took 3hours and a good chunk of that was him putting on chains that were ill equipped. There are few "oh, CRAP" moments as universal as having your car break down. We all wince and feel a little bit guilty when we drive past someone with their hood propped up, especially when we're in remote or harsh conditions. And we all hope there's a decent tow truck driver nearby. Enter Maynard Hadley. So there I was on I-5, halfway through a long drive from Olympia, WA, heading back to Central California. We were in Grant's Pass at 3500 feet, 7 miles from the California border, and my transmission was failing. It was 99 degrees outside. The smoke from nearby forest fires had blocked out most of the sun. And I had my injured sister who could barely walk, my 63-year-old mother (sorry, Mom), and my 5-month-old baby in the car. Lucky for me, Robert was headed our way. He was friendly, capable, and not in the least fazed by cramming the 4 of us into his truck and driving us all the way down to Redding. He had an infant son of his own, and was able to transfer our car seat and install it perfectly in seconds! Being in the backseat of a stranger's quad cab for 2 hours down a winding mountain road is pretty much my worst nightmare - I had no control, on any level, and I get carsick easily. But the ride couldn't have gone more smoothly. We chatted as a group the whole way, sharing snippets of our lives, and it never felt awkward. I know my family can TALK, and Robert never acted even a little annoyed by the force of our personalities. He stopped off to let us use the restroom at the first opportunity, and even offered to stop later so we could pick up dinner if we wanted. When my mother tripped and fell at the rest stop, he was the first person to reach her side and help her up, making sure she was okay. When my over-tired infant started to drift off, he turned down his radio to be sure that nothing would disturb him. He even dropped my family at our motel and helped us unload, before taking me to the car dealership and dropping off my car. Then he brought me back to the motel. When you're in dire straits, even the most basic assistance will do. I would've been thrilled to see ANY tow truck driver who could fit us all and schlep us to our next destination, even if that person smelled bad and communicated primarily in grunts. Instead, we got an articulate, considerate, and genuinely helpful person who helped us out of a really bad situation and made us feel a whole lot cheerier while he was at it. I did not have a good experience with this tow company today. I had a dead battery today in the parking lot of REI. I called AAA for a jump at 2:06 pm. I finally got a call from the towing company at 2:30. I expressed that I only left my key/ignition on and my battery had died. I do not need a new battery or an evaluation of my battery. I only need a jump. The person on the phone assured me that they would send someone right over, since it was a simple jump. It was 93 degrees today and it was quite hot. My son and I did go have some yogurt and then went back to our car because I was told someone was coming right over. I called back the tow company at 3:00 because still no one has showed up. Again, I was told someone would come in the next 10-15 minutes... The tow truck finally pulled up at 3:23. I am leaving this review because I felt like I got the run around. If they only would of been upfront and honest and told me they were super busy and a truck was not available I could of taken up the offers from many that could of jumped us...but I felt like the tow truck was on its way and didn't want them to have to make a dry run. My van was broken down up in the mountains yesterday. I called Dicks Towing to get it towed to Medford they said they would have a truck there in an hour. 2 hours later they called and said that the driver was leaving from Medford a little later. It was 3 hours until they showed up.They completely lied about their availability and I had canceled another tow company that would have come sooner. They said they got busy and forgot to contact me. I had scheduled an appointment with a mechanic that I missed because of this be The driver that picked me up was wonderful but their dispatchers were terrible. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! These guys went way above and beyond any thing I was expecting. I had a blow out on the 5 one evening. I called AAA and they came and retrieved me from a dangerous spot on the road and dropped my loaded truck at the tire place in Ashland. Here is where iit gets good the driver got his own truck and loaded my critical items I needed in the morning and took me to my house about 30mi away. He saved my day and made a bad situation work out! I would have not have had a good next day if it was not for the great service from Maynard handily towing.
