I called them on 10/18/2018 because I have a broken slider lite and need to replace the whole slider, fixed panel and jamb. I had an unpleasant conversation with the person I spoke to on the phone and felt like was an annoyance, and ended the call. I came here, left a review about how badly the call went. Steve, the owner took the time to call me back later in the week, and offered to come out to the house and measure the door and discuss options. He said he'd call back after he got more info, but never did. I called back a couple of weeks later, left a message with the person who answered the phone, and still haven't heard back after a week. Not reviewing the actual sales or installation process, as we never got that far, but had a strange encounter here that's worth mentioning. Looking for a replacement front entry door--new door, sidelights, frame--the works. Can range widely in price depending on materials, design and brand. Had driven by and seen the ads for Maynard Door and Window a few times and wanted to see what they had and give them a shot. Naturally, I had careful measurements of everything. So, we walk in and are politely greeted. "We'd like to replace our entry door and would like to see our options in terms of styles, brands and price" "OK, we can show you some catalogues, but pricing depends on size, brand and options" "Yes, I know, but we'd like to get a general sense of the price range. I know that final pricing will depend on all of that." "We can't discuss pricing until we measure" "No problem, I have all the measurements" "No, we need to measure ourselves" "OK, sure, but I just want to get a general sense of price" "Sorry, we don't do that" "OK, we'll buy somewhere else" And, so, we are buying somewhere else (Concord Lumber, just up the road) where they were happy to go through the different models and give baseline pricing--and, of course, final pricing was dependent on the options we chose. So, maybe Maynard Door and Window has great prices and does great work, but, after this experience, we weren't willing to give them a try. In my experience, a place that can't discuss ballpark pricing based on a few questions and assumptions is suspect. Too bad, as we'll need new windows next. read more

This company is Pathetic!! Apparently they are too busy and important that they don't need anyone's business Read some of the other reviews.. They are absolutely correct. My experience with them doesn't involve and actual transaction because they are rude and not customer friendly. They do not return phone calls. They put you on hold and they act like they are better then the customers. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone but my worst enemies. That 5 star review is obviously bogus. read more

I actually used this company. The process was difficult. Started in spring of 2016 and received a proposal in Sept when we were leaving for the winter. Returned in the spring and was told the price had gone up about 25%. They sent me a new proposal in May or June and then I had to keep calling them about coming.Rarely they called me back. This year when I returned I noticed a problem with what they did. I called them and did not get a call back. I finally reached the person who answered the phone. I talked about the problem and was trying to find out when the work was done to see if it was still under warantee. She told me she would get back to me. She has not and I believe I will never hear from this company read more

Thought I would go with a local company as opposed to Home Depot or Lowes. I called and they came and measured, the person was very nice and seemed professional. A week later I called them to get the estimate, they said they were waiting for the manufacturer. A week later another email asking for the estimate no response. About a month passed, I actually forgot about it, sent an email no response. After 4 emails with no response I got the hint they didn't want my business. Price was never discussed, they just didn't want the work. What a waste of time 6 weeks go by and they could care less I guess. I wanted all new windows and all new doors for my house with a name like Maynard windows and doors you would think they could handle it but i guess they could care less. We had an excellent experience with Maynard Door and Window. We put in 10 new windows with a Mass Saves loan, and they helped me through the considerable paperwork process from start to finish. Installation was clean, fast, and exceeded my expectations. Every time I went into the showroom looking for help someone was there to talk me through the process. BUYER BEWARE*** First when scheduling an appointment the rude secretary said :We are so busy and the guys are out on a very big/important job." Right then and there I should have known. Their quote was for FOUR TIMES of what the door costs compared to Lowes and Home Depot. Thought I'd give the business to a local shop!!! DO NOT CONSIDER! Here's the kicker... They came to measure my door and apparently it's an unusual size...The quote was on the door I picked.... however the door didn't come in that size.. They were going to make my doorway smaller to accomodate the new door. NEVER was this expalined to me I realized it after getting other quotes and reading the "fine print." Maynard Door and Window has replaced my doors windows and roof! I would definitely use them again! The office and sales staff were amazing, quick to call back, simple to understand estimates and quotes and honest! and they have their own staff for installation! I have to agree with negative reviews. I went to the showroom in May and asked for an estimate. The estimator did not come over (to the other side of town) until the end of July. As of the end of September, I still did not have a complete estimate or install date. Finally got my deposit back in mid-October with a rude note criticizing my "tight timeline". Huh?? Called Pella and their service was extremely good and prices the same. Think twice before using Maynard Door and Window. read more

Just thought I would share my experience with this company. Its been a long time since this occurred, but I called them for an estimate of new interior doors throughout the house. They were booked or something, because they couldn't come out for a month and I live only a 10 minute walk away. Anyway, they did eventually come out, it was around November. I told them that I was looking for replacement of the doors and depending on price, I might be also looking to replace four basement hopper windows as well. They understood and offer to break up the estimate to show both pricing options. And that was it. Didn't hear anything back from them until the following April. I received a letter with the estimate for the doors and windows. The work had already been done by another party. I usually don't wait around for 6 month estimate calculations. But their prices were also insane. We had a great laugh for a week or so. And I always love telling this story to friends and people in town that are looking to replace windows and doors. I'm not really sure how they stay in business, I just guess they do work in towns like Stow, Acton and Sudbury where they can inflate the prices to no end and still get paid. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the laughs they gave us. read more

My original contractor botched the installation of my Anderson Sliders - I called Maynard Door after dealing with drafts for the past 3 years. They found several items including doors out of alignment, improper installation of latches and missing screws that keep the immovable door secure.. etc. When he was done, he tested the "fit" by slipping a piece of paper between the doors and locking them. When he first arrived, I could slide the paper back and forth - now, the paper wouldn't budge. Fixed in about an hour - Steve Hebert couldn't have been nicer - Thanks much! read more

I called Maynard Door and Window to get pricing on having a front storm door installed, and having some privacy glass installed in my sidelight panels. They asked me if I lived locally, and then told me they could have someone go out to my house that day, and take measurements from the outside so they could mail me accurate pricing. They were very nice, and answered all of my questions. I have heard great things about them from my neighbors (we are new the to the area), and I have to say, after this experience, I believe them. We haven't received their estimate yet, but I have a feeling they will be installing the door for us. read more

I agree with all the reviewers, they obviously are too busy and don't care. I happened to meet the owner in Bretton Woods and he gave me his card, I called the next day (early August ) and was told that the earliest they can come is Oct. They showed up in October we were looking at a new front door and additionally a picture window and a couple of sliders for the Front Porch. He went through all the details. After atleast 7 voice mails a month later we received the estimate and there was no Front door only the sliders and picture window. we have now decided to move on. Very Disappointed! read more
