Events and drinks are the highlight. Food was okay, not many options for kids or people who do not eat seafood. Prices are a bit high for quality/smaller portions. The first impression is that it is very cold in the restaurant so bring a jacket if you are sensitive to the cold temperature. My friend had the Gold level party package booked here but the official photographer was not there that day to give us our official group picture that is part of the package so the server give us more of the round of shots for the party. The food was good here very fresh oysters and the hot sauce they had was delicious. The birthday girl had a good time and some of her friends was able to try new food for the first time and enjoy it. This place was a$$. I've never had to talk about the lamest experience on this app in a long while. The waitresses were complaining about why they had to wait on us amongst each other in ear shot distance as if they didn't want to work or something. We placed a drink order and the bartender didn't even bother making it and at this point we were waiting 10-15 minutes and this heaux still never made a drink or checked on us. I'm irritated at this point. None of the women were that attractive to act that stuck up that place isn't Ojos Locos or Chula's and I'm not sorry I didn't walk into the establishment with 5 extra men straight out of working construction or working as mechanics and welders to warrant the greatest welcoming experience, because it looked and felt like since I walked into it with my wife and friends (married couple) that we're inconveniencing them for not being part of that demographic. My first time here with my husband today because I've been wanting to try this spot out for the longest. They do have awkward days they're closed I think Monday & Tuesdays which is when we are usually off. So, with today being Thursday we came in at 3:30/4pm at first we got scared and thought it was closed but it was open. We were greeted and sat right away which was nice. Our server she was super nice and quick with taking our order and bringing everything to the table, so service wasn't the issue, it was the food. We ordered a Coctel de camaron that was actually really good. We ordered 1b of crawfish ( super plain no seasoning we asked for hot and it was not hot nor spicy ) same thing with the coctel it was good but literally not hot at all until I poured the salsa picante Valentina. Mambos crawfish is wayyyy better and seasoned. I ordered the combo jugoso and the shrimp was not seasoned enough, the rice was either old or over cooked and they barely gave any lol for an 11 dollar plate wasn't great. My husband ordered the marisco soup and he also said it was a 7/10. He ordered two micheladas which weren't badly priced but he said they tasted like cucumber. So overall everything was super mid, the only thing I will give them is we actually had good service but there wasn't many people in until the end of us being done which was almost 5pm. I gave them two stars just because of the service being good. Everything else was mid and not seasoned well. Save your money and go to mambos! I love this place!!!! I went on a Thursday night. The wings were delicious, the micheladas were also really good. Everything we ordered came out super fast and no errors in our orders. We had a table of 12. The waitress was very friendly and patient with us. Our drinks and food all came out super fast. We stayed for the banda, we had such a great time! We danced, we ate and we drank. A few fights broke out and I was amazed on how fast security worked to move the conflict outside. I felt very safe. The place is huge. If you're looking for oysters just know they don't have cocktail sauce, after fussing for a while she eventually brought me some sauce that resembles what they use in their shrimp cocktail. Like watered down ketchup. She didn't know what horseradish was even when I described it. I asked for soy sauce for a fix like Vida . I don't know their secret recipe but it can fix bad oysters. 2.) The drinks- ugh. whiskey sour and Paloma for my dad both tasted like teenagers mixing drinks for the first time in their life. They both tasted like margarita mix with a splash of liquor. We switched to beer. 3.) They seriously cut the shrimp shells open but don't clean them. What's the point? 4.) Price. The crappy drinks were about $13 each. Pics will show. 5.) The waitress was missing half the time. It was a slow night Tuesday. 6.) They don't have a drink menu so you don't know your drinks cost a stupid amount until they bring the tab, and either does the waitress. She knows nothing. But she actually was the one that made the drinks i was facing the bar and watched her. 7.) The shrimp are overdone and stuck to the shell. I gave up on peeling and just decided to drink instead of eating. The only good thing we had was the little sauce that came with the boiled shrimp. Overall they have a long way to go. Come here for a hang out to drink beer, not for quality of food or drinks. I regret this dinner. We should have gone to Vida Mariscos or Culichi Town. Golden seafood or Mambos for food. The only reason it has 2 stars and not 3 is because all hostess along with our on-duty waitress EAT ON THE JOB. AT THE DOOR sucking on their fingers as people walk in.I find it super disgusting and unsanitary especially when the hostess are back and forth picking up menus as they seat customers down. And on the other hand, my waitress is serving me with my plates and my check at the end of the service. And come dressed as you are. All the employees dress in crocs, shorts. This place is a Mercenary Restaurant that only wants to take advantage of your MONEY and only CARES ABOUT MONEY. One of the worse experiences. We arrived at 8:40 pm, they told us there's a waiting time of 40 min. So far ok most restaurants have a waiting time. Then a guy comes to the door basically SELLING THE TABLE. He said there's a table available only for whoever purchase a bottle of liquor can get the table. Really??? Then he comes out again, there's another table available only if buy a bottle of liquor. I couldn't believe this, so what's the purpose of having a waiting list??? Why keep people waiting if they only care about money and NOT customer service. After they make us wait 1 hr we left. We asked several times if the table was available. They keep saying this over n over "we got 3 lists of waiting" All is a lie they kept letting people in "only" if they are willing to pay for a liquor bottle. We never said we left and they never send the text if the table was available. Just a terrible experience with this Mercenary restaurant.
