Happy to see a Puerto Rican cafe in the area. This cute new bakery in Passaic makes me feel like I am on the island. They serve fresh coffee and freshly baked bread. The bread choices are the two famous loaves of bread made on the island which are Pan de Agua (water bread) and Pan Sobao (sweet bread). They offer a variety of pastries, Puerto Rican Food, sandwiches, and empanadas. My husband loved his chicken empanada and glazed doughnut. I enjoyed my bizchoco de novia (vanilla cake topped with white frosting/sprinkles) and freshly made guava pastry puff. The customer service was top notch on their opening day and I did not expect anything less. The cafe has Puerto Rican flags all around and as a Puerto Rican myself I loved it. They sell treats and cookies that are native to the island and hard to find. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I did not try the food YET and because my Pan Sobao was a little hard and too brown as if overbaked. I hope can update my review soon and change it to 5 stars. I will definitely be visiting them again. read more
