Never looked up at you or interacted as it was ALL ABOUT A SALE NOT A FRIENDLY PLACE TO GO.. We work hard for our $$ and I refuse to go to local places when I am just another face.. Since the new owner bought this place we go there all the time.. Why?? because they talk to us like we MATTER.. If I could rate this place it would be a 10 ***.GreatThe place is clean, organized and most of all FRIENDLY AND REAL PEOPLE..There are alot of people that are mean and have no clue about diversity,, LET ME TELL YOU I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT DIFFERENT CULTURES over the years.. WHY???? because I am always open and remain teachable in all areas of my life.. I enjoy talking to the owner and his wife!!! props to you both.. My husband BRIAN and I will always shop there because you are very nice and spiritual people and I feel so good when we come, not only for a purchase but to visit and say hello to such GREAT people that take time to stop and talk.. While visiting the store take a $16 gamble and buy one of the 5L "Jugs" of Udaca red wine from Portugal. You will be hooked on a very inexpensive table wine that is actually quite good if you like dry Spanish/Portuguese style red wines. My first experience with the wine came after the owner discussed the wine, its history in his family, and that it is actually quite good. After such a presentation I had to try at least one bottle, right? And now so do you! I drive for hours to stock up on the Jug Wine from the Jug Shop a few times a year. They have a decent selection of wine, beer, and liquors for a small shop. The personality, history in Wareham, and the Jug wine make it worth the stop. Having worked at a liquor store for many years in my youth, the only customer more dreaded than the "one bringing back returns" is the more dreaded "lottery addict loser". I actually have only been here 3 times this year and it was buying a bunch of stuff for parties. They guys were very nice, gave me a discount, a free canvass wine bag and helped me load my truck. This long time business in the area is under new ownership, so if you travel from other areas on…read morethe Cape to shop in a "warehouse" setting, or you visit for the summer.....just realize that the helpful long time staff that used to be there are gone, the selection of wines is really confusing now (because they aren't "grouped" the way they used to be), and beer selection is reduced. Dont bother asking for help looking for a particular item. I did and got a blank stare. I tried to find it myself but gave up. The woman at the register was slow and seemed to have trouble counting change (she miscounted twice (the bills)). I asked her also about the wine I was looking for and she shook her head, not speaking either. FYI, this was a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, not some speciality French or Italian wine! First negative encounter I've had with a business in this area. Will never shop here again…read more I thought I had found my go-to wine store when I moved to this area a few weeks ago. The layout and selection reminded me of my favorite liquor store, Total Wine and More. I noticed the prices here were higher, but I was still willing to support this local store. Never again since today's purchase and experience with customer service. I purchased 4 bottles of wine for close to $60. I questioned the cashier when she packed them all into one paper bag asking if the bag would hold. She said it would be fine and proceeded to slip scraps of cardboard between my bottles. I carried the bag out to my car holding the bottom of the bag with my free hand. When I unloaded my car in my garage, I pulled the bag out of the car holding the top of the bag and the bottles fell through the bottom and broke and emptied all over my garage floor. After cleaning up the glass and spilled wine I called the store to tell them what had happened as was told there was nothing they could do since it did not happen on their premises. No apology was offered for the money I wasted, the mess I incurred and the time I spent cleaning it up.
