My 24 yr old daughter wanted to stop and pick up some hard seltzer. She comes out of the store and tells my husband and myself she was denied purchasing the hard seltzer. We live out of state but she has used her Real ID multiple times in Massachusetts so there was no reason for them to deny her service. I go inside to purchase. The two men behind the counter were very rude, and condescending. When I told them my daughter was 24 they started yelling at me. At that point I should have left the store and taken my business elsewhere. I showed them my ID ( 55yrs) and paid for overpriced hard seltzer. Rude, inconsiderate people. Stay away. read more

Terrible, worker and manager were incredibly rude. Denied service to a real id, then denied service to 55 year old saying we were rude. Anyone who's real I'd they say is fake would be annoyed. Manager was rude and mouthed something before denying us service for second time. read more

This is my go-to packie when in on the Cape. It's closer to me than any other, but I also like that it's small and locally owned. They have a great selection of wine, beer and spirits. There is plenty of parking and the staff is always willing to offer suggestions and help. Prices tend to be a little higher than I'm used to, but I'd rather give them my money than the bigger places on Cape. They also have a great variety of seltzers which I love in particular. During Corona they are doing curb side pick up as well which is nice if you are being extra careful. Don't forget your mask! read more

Long time Cape Cod resident and I have frequented this store in an attempt to keep business local, even though the prices are routinely higher. That won't be the case any longer after a stop today. Two staff one younger female and one older. The younger staff was coughing and hacking like a TB patient with no attempt to cover her face. She also spent a considerable amount of time complaining in a loud voice that no one had stocked the coolers. Apparently there is someone living above the package store who she also stated loudly should come down to assist. The older female couldn't be bothered to answer a question I had as she was too engrossed in wrapping gift packages and complaining about lack of staffing. Adios forever. They racially profiled the customers in front of me, as the manger and worker denied a person who was clearly at least 50 years old. They also mocked him after he left. Prices are way overpriced. Take business elsewhere. read more

Excellent stock at this store. The wine run the gamut - Italian, Aussie French and US. The staff is well informed and will alert you to sales on booze etc. They have tastings on site I recommend signing up for their e-newsletter. They have stayed in business ( since 1939) for a reason good service, and hard work . whoever does the hiring is a smart cookie. Amazing local sore - nothing like your typical package store. They carry lots of amazing products, like local craft brews, meads, and even a wine called "The Oyster" that rebuilds Massachusetts' oyster reefs! (which is also delicious). Definitely worth stopping at to pick up drinks for the weekend. read more

They were super nice on the phone, but most importantly...they had Red Stripe Light! You have no idea how hard it is to find the Light! What a great store. Went in for a good bottle of wine and some beer while on vacation. They have a great selection of ownes and not only that, but they have about 10 bottles of wine on a decanter for tasting. The woman working was so helpful and attentive to what I was looking for in a bottle of wine. The beer pricing is reasonable with great selection. Real nice store! read more

This place was packed tonight. Many people loading up for the weekend. Long lines usually are a good sign. The parking lot was crazy as well. The store looks like it has a lot of wine, but I was there for beer. They have a good selection, although Luke's is infinitely larger in size and selection. Here's what I like though. You don't have to buy a six pack or a four pack. They sell beer by the bottle which I love. Too many good beers to try. They stock Berkshire Brewery beer, but only four styles today. I'm looking to return when it's quieter. Prices are okay. Conveniently located. read more

We were fortunate to hit a wine tasting that Diane Slater presented at the Barnstable Restaurant while we were on vacation. She was very knowledgeable without being pretentious. Humorous and relatable, with a good selection of moderately priced wines. I never went to the package store but stand by my 5 stars because of the level of expertise that Diane brought to the tasting. read more

We worked with the Cape Cod Package Store last September for our wedding and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. We met with Andrea and emailed her repeatedly, she always answered promptly and was more than willing to work with us to stay within our price range and still have the variety of drinks that we wanted. She is very knowledgeable and suggested several of the types of wine that we wound up choosing and they're now our favorite bottles! They were on time the day of the wedding with the delivery (without them calling him our bartender actually would have forgotten to show up) and helped make our wedding day go more smoothly. Very rude staff. I complained about the five dollar card limit to one of the staff and in return they refused to serve me and when I asked him why he threatened to call the cops. I live right across the street and ive never had a problem before and the staff has always been nice. not sure if the guy was just having a bad night or something but anyways cape cod package just lost a regular customer. read more

This is a different type of package store offering a wide selection of wines, local and imported, as well as a nice selection of spirits and craft beers. What makes this different is the expertise of the wine manager, Diane Slater. She takes the time to get to know the customer's palate and preferences, then offers suggestions if asked, within their price point. Her uncanny sense of humor combined with her knowledge makes for an interesting shopping experience. There is a display area for a small amount of cheeses and other edibles as well. The wine seminars are an immensely popular offering monthly during the fall through spring time. The entire staff are courteous and helpful, but do take a moment to meet Diane and tap into her knowledge [and humor] of wine. The Tasting carousel [not sure what it is officially called] is a great way to savor different wines, both red and white, to try something different. Pricing is competitive.
