This is a community store, and the owner and her kids are very friendly to everyone who enters the store. She talked with me, my wife, and she went out of the store to play with our dog Bendji. We enjoy going to the store and seeing her and her kids. She is part of the Sheperd Park community; I see her as a sister, and her kids are my own. I was racially profile while in the store parking lot. I came here with my boyfriend on March 3,2023. Upon arrival we noticed a lady taking a picture of us,we asked what the issue was and she proceeded to tell us her store had cameras on us. Shocked we proceeded to let her know that we were consumers of the liquor store. She said and I quote "If you are not buying anything you should get going". We both told her what we coming to spend money here and she started playing victim "why are you guys yelling at me " ma'am what. The service here is great. My fiancé comes here whenever we want to indulge. You can tell that they are passionate about their business. When we walked in, she was helping another patron, suggesting bottles based on their preferences. Literally, pulling things off the shelves. I asked about a wine and , as it turns out, they do not carry it. However, the lovely lady behind the counter kindly and passionately explained how I could create my own Pineau. Highly not recommend. Why? 0/10 customer service hopefully not only for us me and my friend. We went there the clerk just looked somewhere like we're not even there. Second of all we ask a price of a certain bottle. The "nasty" clerk went u have id? What for what u're asking id just to tell the price? If that is the case why we're seeing a lot of prices on the shelf. Which makes the matter doesn't even give any sense. How rude and dumb u've to be to ask a silly question. Poor clerk. if i could give 0 stars i would, the owner was very rude when all i was trying to do was comply w her demands. she said i wasn't able to purchase the liquor since i was using my fathers card. she requested that i used her atm to pay cash. so i went to her atm at first it didn't have enough money in the machine but she insisted that i didn't have sufficient funds. i did so she went to put money in it. when i used it again it took out $62 from my acct but didn't give me any money. she told me that it didn't but it showed in my acct that it did. when my father came in to ask questions she said that he was yelling at her when in reality she was the louder one plus she was not wearing a mask whatsoever . she then said that we have no hospitality when she was the one being outrageously rude to us even when we still decided to buy the liquor. worst experience i've ever had. just go somewhere else. she even said you new yorkers always act like this. she is racist asf. never talk to the indian clerk. read more

This customer service was very terrible, nasty and disrespectful. I used to live here in the city and came back visiting my sick mother who wanted to buy my sisters and I a bottle of wine just because. I'm convinced people participate in fraud a lot because she treated me as if I was a criminal with a criminals card and identity. She made sure I would use the pin which is her job but as I go to do this she laughs to a colleague and says with your moms money as if I am a liar or participating in fraud. This was a hot mess. Others in the area said not to worry bc the place was ghetto run down and they don't go there because the woman is racist. I was very disappointed because I had used this same card once before here and received a different experience so whatever changed should have not been directly taken out on me as a customer. Stay away from this liquor store! I never usually write reviews for anything but in this case, the way I was treated in the store, I had to share my experience. My wife was getting her hair done in an establishment right across the street from this store and asked me to get some drinks for the house. Now I've shopped in there one time before and didn't have any issues so going into the store this time around I didn't think any issues would arise. Walking into the store, one of the store clerks behind the bullet proof glass asked me if I needed any help. I declined and proceeded to look around the store. I called my wife, who was right across the street, and asked her was there anything specific she wanted. She asked me to see what type of deals they're offering. So on the phone I started telling her what specials they had in the store and asked her what she wants me to get. While in the store another store personal, a woman of Indian, Or West Indian descent, asked me if I needed any help. I simply raised my hand in a motion of telling her to hold on because I was on the phone with my wife. After another minute or two of talking to my wife in the store the Indian or West Indian lady, who I assumed was the owner of the store starts raising her voice to me saying " Sir you can't be in my store reading off prices! Who are u talking to??" I told her In a calm low respectful tone "excuse me? What's the problem? I'm talking to my wife asking her what she wants." The lady behind the lady tells me that I'm disrespectful in my tone and since I declined her help in the store that I can't continue to be in there and read off prices. I asked her "really? This is how you treat your customers? " she continued in her disrespectful tone then told me in a aggressive voice to get out of her store. I believe I was racially profiled. The lady talked to me in a tone that was meant for me to feel I wasn't wanted in the trashy store. I was already leaving, feeling very angry of the treatment and vowed if I could warn others of this trashy store then it will be worth it. The store is in terrible shape. Any liquor store that has the liquor behind a bulletproof glass is all crap. The deals are all B.S. Those people get away with thinking they can talk and treat people any old way because they are under the assumption that the people in the neighborhood are all poverty level and all act a certain way.
