    Shower in the bedroom

I know this is a 2 star hotel but Jesus Christ. We stayed here because our friend stayed here for a wedding but their 1 bed is like 2 stars because they had an actual bathroom. It was the 3 of us. I think a shady motel would be better Con: -230$ for 1 night -bathroom is basically in the bedroom for a 2 bed. It feels like a prison honestly -they're so hyper vigilant about guests going upstairs -it's so old and Victorian like -no parking on site -flies everywhere -smells like paint upstairs -giant spider behind the bed

    View from our bed

Quaint and charming, No air conditioning and no elevator but very friendly staff we had a really nice stay. You can't beat the location it's basically on the water (close enough for me) I did request a room on the second floor and was told they could accommodate that but then I got there and my room was on the top floor! Overall really nice though.

Left to right: bed, shower, bathroom

The people here are very nice and the rooms are nice and quaint. However, as a disclaimer- and I believe this is only some rooms- our shower was connected to the main room, as pictured, and the bathroom was a tiny 28 inch wide box with a toilet and the sink on the outside as well. Which isn't bad it's just... strange. Something I've never seen before. It was not a bad place at all to stay, but I don't think I would stay there again.

The hamburger joint across the street from the Mayfair Hotel is Super Frigging AWESOME!!! I highly recommend going. It's worth the trip!!! What I would like to tell you is a horrific tale. I dislike going negative, but I recently took a week off of work. I decided to treat myself to an ocean front view, where I do nothing but eat, sleep, and enjoy the beach of beautiful Belmar NJ. 1000 Ocean Ave. Belmar Hotel... The room was particularly disturbing. No cable, a television next to a shower? Really? A bed with a mirror as the headboard? What? Unclean toilet. Never scrubbed ever? No!!! A bubbling ceiling cracking out... BLACK MOLD!!! Unfinished walls... No outlet for my clippers at the sink.... On Monday, I took a nap at 12pm... Bad idea... Really really bad idea... I figured I was leaving in a few days... So no need to clean. I clean on my own. I'm extremely responsible. The maid bashed at the door waking me... No... Scaring me half to death... She screamed at me saying I HAD TO OPEN UP AND GET OUT OF MY ROOM!!! I was half asleep still when the actual owner came and unlocked the door with his key. I hadn't noticed, but I had the chain latch in place. I apologized and was getting up to unlatch the door when the manager, a very large imposing man, peppered me with insults cursive language, threats to injure, maim, and/or murder myself, and my family. One after another racial insult was hurled against me... Then he kicked with brute force, at my latched door. One after another kick at my door scared me to death... I told him to stop kicking. 'Please, please, stop sir...' I unlatched the door. I explained I would not leave my room, as some of my goods had mysteriously disappeared. He then told me he felt threatened.. That I should vacate asap. He said he was calling the police. I waited in vain. The police never arrived. Of course. You make your own decision. Know I only tell this tale because I do not want anyone to have a similar experience.

This the only hotel on the ocean ave and very convenintly located right in the middle of everything. Super need and cozy. Beautiful rooms, nice colors. Friendly staff. They also have a big pool and patio area. If you get the ocean room, you can see the waves and acatually hear them with an open window. There is a free parking in the streets. We had no issues. highly recommend the place. The price is reasonable for a ocean front room.

The view that we had from the window was lovely and we often took a long stroll on the boardwalk to clear our minds.

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). Can't wait to find a reason to return.

I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

We stayed in Vermont Room (3rd floor), Savannah Room (3rd floor), Southern Exposure (4th Floor), and Summer Cottage A (side building). All rooms were excellent! Joe and Kelsey are amazing hosts and very responsive to texts/questions. All the staff is great. There is a beautiful rooftop deck that we enjoyed at night after dinner. Great for socializing. There is also a room with a couch on the 4th floor for gatherings/gaming systems for young kids. Breakfast every morning was delicious!!! Each morning there was a specialty option, as well as eggs and bacon plus homemade breads and muffins. My mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious egg sandwich Joe made. You can get a beach pass through them ($8 daily), which is $2 cheaper than purchasing at the beach entrance. The inn is a quick walk to the beach, it's in a perfect location. The inn is also not a far walk to Asbury Park (leisurely walk took us about 20 minutes). With traveling with a young baby and all the beach stuff they need, having a room on the 4th floor could have been a little complicated, but luckily, we had a parking spot right out in front to pack away our stuff each day. Make sure when selecting your room you are paying attention to which floor it is on. Overall we had a great time and cannot wait to come back! The Inn was perfect for a vacation with family! Thank you Joe, Kelsey and staff.

After staying at The Inn @Ocean Grove for half a year, I considered it home and forged a few…read morefriendships. Because I stayed here for that long, I was able to make a few observations, which frame my opinions. As with anything, there are both good and bad. But these are just my POV. Management: The place was basically run by two women, with one being the "chief cook and bottle washer," stepping in to do repairs and treating the guests to her amazing baked goods. The other woman served more on, in her own words, an "organizational" level, collecting the "rent" every Monday, and "keeping things in line." If you stay during the Winter season as I did, don't expect breakfast, but summer guests will have that amenity. Not to worry. There are quite a few options in town. There is a Keurig coffee machine, however, which you can help yourself to any time of the day. It's easy to use. For those of you who don't know, just put the K-cup in, making sure there is water in the side container, press the top down and push the button to the desired strength of coffee. But I digress. It's just that people kept asking me how to use it. One of the downsides at the Inn were the numerous power outages, and guests were sometimes suspected to be the culprits, even though the building is more than 100 years old and the infrastructure probably needs an upgrade. Also, at least in the winter season, you must supply your own bedding: sheets, blankets, pillow cases. And don't expect to bring Fido or Felix. Pets are not allowed, except maybe in the back cottages. All in all, enjoy the stay, don't get too inebriated (it's a dry town, and you'll have to sneak off to Bond Street Bar in the next town) because there are three floors, and you have to climb stairs. Parking is free, outside the building, but that could be problematic in the Summer. During my stay, I was sometimes playing musical cars to keep my auto on the "correct" side of the one-way Webb Avenue . Take care, and Godspeed. Hope this offered some insight into staying at the Inn @Ocean Grove.

Upon checking in, they informed me my room was not ready yet and offered to take my luggage and bring it to my room. I was with a colleague and I tagged along as the front desk agent guided us to their room. The hotel had such a modern and simple aesthetic with plenty of space to work and lounge around in. The room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and outdoor seating area. The front desk agent mentioned the ducks that live in the back and could visit our out door areas and yes I was able to get a glimpse of the ducks! It wasn't long until my room was ready and the front desk agent was able to find me, provided me my key, and walked me to my room. I loved that customer service they provided. They gave me a brief tour of my room which was similar to my colleagues. The bed was cozy! The bathroom and shower was a dream and that bathrobe was as super comfy! I had a restful sleep that evening! My company had rented a meeting room which was catered by the hotel. The food was good and the staff was super helpful and attentive while we were there. We also had hung out in the outdoor bar area and the wait staff there was great as well! The view from the outdoor bar/pool area was beautiful and overlooking the beach.
