One of the wagons that take you to and from the corn maze
Ebenezer's Anni L.

I always wanted to do a corn maze. So when a widow Meetup group posted one, I had to try. Since I grew up in farm land, seeing animals isn't something I really want to spend my time, but urban and suburban kids will love it. You go into all activities through their store which is full of food, books, toys, and clothing with a farm theme. You can also get drinks and snacks there also. You ride out to the maze. The kids maze is something you can do in 20 minutes. The adult maze is much longer and you need to look for stations for clues. A few people even have had to be rescued. It was cold and wet, so I did the kids maze just to say I have done a corn maze. The others disappeared into longer maze. This would be a great family outing if your kids are younger than teens.

Took our son for the first time, he loved it. Perfect size for a quick outing, not overwhelming. It was really hot out when we went but still saw lots of animals up close. Cute little shop with snacks and drinks. Staff was very friendly too.

We went there for the corn maze, it was not open. The facilities were nice, but not much to do except for the weekends. Headed out to their competitor.

Have been here a handful of times since the Summer of 2020 and have always had a good experience,…read moreso I decided to have my son's first birthday party here September 2021. The staff member with us (Sophia) was helpful and was frequently asking what I needed help with. She helped us set up and take down as well. The decorations were all set up upon our arrival. They had balloons and tablecloths set up for us. The only thing I brought related to decor was a backdrop and "happy birthday" sign for the dessert table. Also brought our desserts and food. The party room was clean and all of our guests complimented how well kept the farm was. There was a high chair for the birthday boy and 6 larger tables for the guests (there were a bunch more outdoors as well but all of our guests ate in the party room). I appreciated having the entire farm and party room to ourselves. All of the kids enjoyed their play time in the yard (a bunch of toys, some ride on car/roller coasters, sand area, and more out there to keep them busy) in addition to the petting farm itself. They also enjoyed riding the horse. I would recommend some rain boots if you're coming after heavy rain. It gets muddy on the farm. The only downside was that I had to bring literally everything needed along with us such as plates, silverware, napkins, a knife and spatula and lighter for the cake (just some examples).... It would be awesome if some of those things were provided by Carousel Acres but it was no big deal since I knew in advance. This still didn't take away from the experience. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it for others! I would definitely have another party here again.

The granddaughter of the owner, Kenzie, was super nice and good with the kids. She should manage all the guest relations as she is welcoming and friendly. But that was the middle part of the visit. The beginning and the end were BAD; and it was all because of one woman and her rude attitude. Her name is Lorraine. When we arrived, we were not aware we were supposed to "check in" at the porch as there was no sign saying to do so. Another worker ran after us saying we had to check in at the porch. So we did. Then we learned we needed to pay $12 each, which caught us by surprise because the Facebook event did not say there was an entry fee. Lorraine said rudely "there's ALWAYS a $12 entry fee to get in!" We said we'd never been there so we didn't know that and that events on Facebook usually say if there is a fee. We found a way for the 7 of us to pay because only one of us had cash. (She should not be in a greeter position or any position facing off with the public. She does not know how to talk nicely to people). And then after we'd enjoyed time with the animals and had forgot about the rough start, we encountered her again and she was she was rude to our family again; twice before we left. Once when we decided to go into the gift shop and Lorraine said, "What are you doing? You can't go in there!" when we tried to open the door. She then said it was closed for a private event. I said, "the sign on the door says OPEN and come in." She didn't say anything, but stood up and slid it over so it said it was Closed. (She could've said...oh sorry for the confusion; we should have changed that). She made us feel like we did something wrong when they should've changed the sign. (Her approach and tone was very unwelcoming every time we interacted with her). Then when I was over talking to Kenzie about the cute swinging ghosts hanging over the entryway Lorraine took it upon herself to walk over and yell at my son-in-law who was playing on a teeter totter with his daughter, acting like he was riding it up and down with her, but using his legs to stand and go up and down. She rudely told him he wasn't allowed to be on the equipment. He didn't appreciate her tone and how she spoke to him in front of his daughter. That was totally unnecessary! This place has so much potential, but having someone like that as your first (and last) impression will not help you. I told Lorraine before we left that we had really enjoyed the Farm, but that she had been rude to our family several times during our visit and it had really ruined the visit for us ...and she said nothing back. Wow.

Sharing my experience with Duke Petting Farm to save you from having to go through the same thing…read more I was having a big cowboy themed party for my boys joint birthday party. So I thought how fun would it be to have a cowboy horse & a petting farm. I Talked with Deb before even booking the party to make sure all the kids would be able to ride the pony. At first I asked for a horse because most of the kids would be around 10-11 years old. I was told a horse would be too hard for the little kids but she would send me a large pony that would be perfect for my age range. I told her no one would be over 120 pounds. She even asked me to put it in an email and I did. I am sharing that email in the photo section. I confirmed this with the owner several times before the party. Fast forward to party day when the problems all began. She sent 2 girls to work my one hour party. The one girl that ran the petting bunny area was EXTREMELY rude to all the little kids. Even rolling her eyes at them when they asked what kind of balloons she could make. She yelled at them multiple times when kids 3 years old were petting the baby bunnies. To a point of me and several parents going in the bunny pen to help. It was so embarrassing that people at my party were being treated this way. Several of the bunnies kept escaping. She yelled at the 3 year old birthday boy when he went to get a second handful of food from the food bucket they bring. She said "you already fed the animals." We tried to talk to her to help change her bad mood but it was the entire time and super disappointing as this was a kids party. The other thing I would like to warn you about is that TONS of the kids were turned away from riding the pony. The girl working said they were too tall. One of the girls was a tiny 10 year old weighing no more that 65 pounds. If height was a requirement I should have been told that before the party. Like I said I discussed this with her multiple times. So only a few little kids got to ride over and over. When you pay over $500 for someone to bring animals to your party you expect at least kind service. I contacted the owner before coming to social media. She said the girl working the party was only 14 years old. While she did say she would talk to her she made all kinds of excuses. I think it would be better to have an adult working something like this. She told me the bigger pony they had used at a different party that day and had problems with so they switched to this one. I understand things happen in life but those are not a customers problem. While I couldn't come to an agreement with the owner I thought I could at least warn all my friends or anyone thinking to book for a party! Stay far away. I wished I would have booked somewhere else. After having the party I had several people recommend Tyler's exotic animals. They said he is much more kid friendly. Just super disappointed that so few kids got to ride the pony & that the other worker that ran the balloons/petting area treated everyone so rotten. It was an awful experience and I have booked lots of big things for events. Never have I had to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism. Truly disappointed.

I took my 10 year old out here for some riding for her birthday, the offer lessons for a fair price and they also do this thing called "Mini-Mondays" where younger kids get to do fun activities and dive into the agricultural world. They get up close and personal with the animals while learning valuable life lessons such as showing respect to all creatures, kindness, forgiveness and other things we all want instilled in our kids! My girls just wrapped up softball and we're so excited to sign up for volunteering at the farm!!

My boyfriend and I sold our football tickets this past weekend and decided to go on a tour of all…read morethings fall in Michigan this weekend! We wanted to do a hayride, pumpkin patch, and corn maze (peak fall activities!) and this place had all 3 things! I was very impressed with the prices- $16 per adult. That included the corn maize, hay ride, and small farm. I will say, make sure to have cash because this place (along with the Dexter Cider Mill which is just down the road from here) is cash only. They do have an ATM machine on the property, but you do have to pay a convenience fee. The corn maze is a lot of fun and there are options to exit in 3 different places if you don't want to go through the whole thing. I wasn't sure how hard it would be, but it proved to be pretty challenging! We got stuck in a loop for probably 10 minutes lol and the whole thing took a little over an hour. There are 8 number signs that you follow throughout the maze which are clearly posted and even have the QR code to a map if you get lost. Me and my boyfriend kept commenting how fun (but scary) a haunted corn maze here would be! We asked the staff if they ever hosted any haunted events and they told us not right now, but maybe in the future. I think that would be awesome and for what it's worth, I would be the FIRST one to come if they made a haunted hayride or corn maze! The hayride was ~20 minutes and took us on the side of the corn maze and pumpkin patch and through a small loop in the woods. It was a great ride to relax after going through the maze for over an hour. Lastly, the pre-picked pumpkin patch towards the entrance of the space was so cute! The prices were amazing- $1 for 2 small pumpkins/gourds and $3-$5 for pumpkins depending on their size. We paid $4 for 5 pumpkins (3 small pumpkins, 1 small gourd, and a larger one to paint). These days, pumpkins at the grocery store are SO expensive so this was so nice, especially for small families and kids who want their own pumpkin. As I had mentioned above, it is also a 4 minute drive from the Dexter Cider Mill as well so make a stop there on your way home! They do sell concessions- donuts, cider, and lots of food here at Blast, but I'd recommend taking the short drive to a classic cider mill well-known in Michigan for their cider and donuts! I appreciated that this place wasn't as commercialized as other places in Michgan (Wiards, etc.). It was fun to be surrounded by a variety of people- young families, kids, other couples, and even other college students. There was something for everyone to do and all the staff were so friendly and helpful! Easily lots to do here and can be a whole day activity! We were here for ~2 hours but could've spent longer if we had walked around more. We will be coming back and think this place would be a fun tradition to come to each fall, especially since they change their maze every year so it will always be a challenge!
