I came to this salon because I heard rave reviews and I was completely unhappy with the service I received !! While I was waiting to be seen another customer walked in and completely skipped me. The owner then after starter her eyebrows then asked if its ok to do her first .... That was strike one !! Secondly she didn't clean or wipe my brows she just started threading not which I found to be weird ... As a result of that the finished product was 2 completely different eye brows. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I'm extremely OCD about my eyebrows and I'm always paranoid about trying new places but Maya's was incredible. I recently had a traumatic threading experience at my regular (no longer) salon. The woman made my brows WAY too thin and I had to grow them out for over a month just so I could reshape them. So I yelped a few threading salons that were near where I work... Found this one and walked in on a Friday night (around 6:30/7pm). I was seated immediately and I explained my situation. An older woman told me she completely understood and that she would leave my brows thick. After threading one, she showed me it to get my approval! I've never had that happen before...usually you're always rushed out. The first brow came out great and she matched the other one perfectly. She explained that the salon also offers facials and other threading/waxing options. At check out, she gave me a frequent customer card and told me the salon's hours. When I was about to leave, she noticed a few stray hairs on one brow that were slightly uneven compared to the other...so she asked me to quick sit back down so she could fix it! How awesome is that? After paying, the woman was actually concerned about my happiness with the result that she offered to perfect them. I let the lady know that I would like my face threaded without my eyebrows since I just recently got them threaded. She proceeded to thread my eyebrows and nicked me about 7 different times on each side (pictures provided). It was horrible! In addition, she leans back to take a break and states to the other ladies waiting "sorry, she has a lot of hair"- well of course, that's why I came to you to thread it! I won't be returning here. I came here on a weekday around 4 o'clock and it was empty. I figured that meant she would have time to really focus on my brows. I ended up leaving with 2 different cuts around my eyebrows. They were also two different shapes. One was noticeably thicker and hadn't been shaped as nicely. I also had a whole line of hair underneath one brow so now it looked like I had a mini brow under my normal brow. Once I realize the person who is doing my brows doesn't know what they're doing, I don't bother to ask them to fix it. I don't want to chance it being even more messed up. I just found this place on Yelp at 4pm. Hopped in my car, went, and I'm home already reviewing! It's only 4:43pm! So I'm sure they're busier at different times & when it's not an arctic freeze out there. Suzanne did my brows. She asked me what I wanted. I explained my brows were a mess but I didn't want anything too thin. She cleaned them up. They haven't been this even in years- and I used to have a regular girl before I moved! $6 for brows AND you get one of those punchcards. I will certainly be back! The salon is small and nothing fancy but it's clean and efficient. Really happy to have found the place! Suzanne was pleasant and when she found out it was my first time, she was even more kind. Love this place too.. so today I decided to go out on a limb and find new places to get my lashes and eyebrows done. I'm so impressed with this place. The ladies were so nice and welcoming. Before doing my brows she noticed that they were uneven so she asked me which one of my brows I liked best and she made the other brow identical to it. By far the best technician I've gone too. I also asked for my lip to be waxed and she noticed that I had a burn from a previous wax and she gave me a cream to lighten the scar, for free! Not to mention it was only $9 for the services altogether. I would recommend this salon to everyone. I love when businesses are handled professionally and are catered to the customers specific needs. It pains me to see a place that hires unlicensed personnel. It's service is good. Maya and soni have been amazing over this past year. I don't want to undermine anyone's work as I've been in the beauty industry for a long time. The sad part is that this industry should be based off skill rather than a certifying document. But that is the reality of it... we do need licensure in order to prevent errors and also in order to safe guard ourselves and others at the same time. The beauty salon not only seems to be hiring unlicensed "technicians" but they don't even speak English other than the yes and no. Friday's and Saturday's are the only busy days that kick off our weekends right ... but when someone screws up your eyebrows (because your regular trusted people aren't there) and would prefer to shape them in the only way they know best is not wise to do so. Sometimes the employee doesn't even know that they are doing this. It's sad. I'm sorry but I must give a thumbs wayyy down for not being able to communicate and on the other hand being completely unlicensed. Not all of the techs are but the ones that aren't really do make those of us that worked hard for our certifications feel horrible for the time and efforts we placed on obtaining our documents to be placed on a wall. I read a similar post but I don't believe in naming names unless you have something nice to say. But I'm sorry but Mayas will be reported to the better business bureau. That's my own efforts to prevent practices from hiring "professionals" that have no document to back themselves up. What about us other hair dressers and beauticians and techs that have what it legally takes to actually touch another person, Was that a waste of time ? We didn't go to school for no reason. Especially not so people who can't even speak English can come and start screwing up peoples eyebrows and or redden their upper lip with a tiny peel. Not only that but double dipped ! You must be kidding me. I'm sorry. Thumbs down. Not only that but how the hell do u do eyebrows and then say let me wax ur chin or upper lip ??? Not a speck of hair is on it ! What the hell are you even trying to wax off? On top of that your rushing as if you gotta run off somewhere making the client feel like they've taken up too much time. Spent three years in school in Russia and another two perfecting my skills and learning English only to find out that America hires "professionals" but they can't communicate and they don't have anything that declares them able to even perform a service. I will never name names. But if you go here and Maya or Soni aren't there pls just keep walking because you will walk out dissatisfied and then wondering what has become of the beauty industry. The number one thing anyone would hate is if the "technician" blurts out oh ok sorry sorry you have too much hair " .... to other people. Also I went to get my brows done after growing them for two months only to find out that they ended up misshapen and definitely not cleaned properly. But since they weren't cleaned off properly gives me some hair to work with when I go later to thier neighboring competitors. I don't know why I even went in knowing that Sonny and Maya were not there. Totally pissed. It's my own fault for going in when my gut told me don't. If you want perfect brows look no further! This place is exactly what I was looking for and I'm so happy I found it. From day one I've always received excellent service. The women who work there are very nice and do excellent work. You can tell they take great pride in their services. They remember who you are and are very personable. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded by Priya and tinted by Susan. The threading here is amazing. Priya really takes her time, doesn't rush, and makes sure that your eyebrows come out perfect every time. The tinting was just as great. I've gotten my eyebrows tinted somewhere else and didn't have such a great experience. They told me they were having a special on tinting and I decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did. My eyebrows looked so perfect. It looked better than it does when I fill it in with my eye brow pencil. It also didn't fade after one day. It's been a week since I got the tinting done and my eyebrows still look nice and the tinting is still evident! I really liked going here in the beginning because I liked how the lady did my eyebrows. After a couple months I realized that she no longer did them how she used to. Instead she would try to get me to go to someone to give them "practice" and didn't listen when I simply asked for a clean up. On the first occasion I walked out with two different shaped eyebrows and giving her the benefit of the doubt I went back. Big mistake, because once again I walked out with an eyebrow way thinner than the other and scarring underneath the eyebrow. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

I called to make my appointment for today, this morning, and was greeted in such a sweet way, my questions were answered thoroughly, and that alone was nice to hear! Walking into my appointment this afternoon, I had an idea of what shape I wanted for my eyebrows, and Maya did an amazing job, and made it happen! Usually, I never have luck with getting my eyebrows done how I want. She listened to me, and had me look at her work before proceeding to do my eyebrows. I don't usually do threading, but I decided to this time, and I am glad I did! I also got my lip waxed. I called at the last minute for an eyebrow wax for my daughter. Maya said to come in now. It was six pm. She took her immediately. She was very gentle, very nice, friendly, and only charged five instead of the inexpensive regular price of six dollars because it was her first time there. To top it off she gave us a punch card.
