Smoked Chicken Empanada
Alicia J.

What a fantastic food truck!! I was able to try Maya Rosa's at a weekend event and so happy they were there! Their menu featured a mac and cheese bowl, sandwiches, tacos, empanadas, tacos, and pinchos. I ordered their Mac and Cheese Bowl with chimichuri glazed brisket, jalapeño cornbread crumble, bread crumbs, and pico de gallo; and also their BBQ Chicken Empanadas -- fried fresh upon ordering and were so crispy and delicious! Both dishes were outstanding and full of flavor -- highly recommend this food truck!

West Coast BBQ Burger and fries

Burger Week strikes again! (I'm really going to have to do a burger detox after this.) Maya Rosa stood out from the list, so figured we'd give it a try. The West Coast BBQ Burger was up next for tasting. A 7 oz beef patty topped with burnt ends, lettuce, tomato, green chili cheese aioli, and guava serrano bbq sauce. Unfortunately, the burger wasn't as good as I anticipated, but good enough. The bbq sauce overpowered the aioli, so I didn't get to taste it much. And I'm sure some cheese would have topped it off. I must say, the brisket was a nice bonus. If anything, the fries were pretty awesome. Bbq fries, YUM! I'd be happy to give Maya Rosa another visit and try some other items on the menu.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Sándwich

The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is what I would describe as my taste buds , mind heart and soul traveling at warp speed with the destination being delicious town in a galaxy far far away. The spice was incredibly subtle for a spicy lightweight for me and the balance of the pickles plus coleslaw was like a beautiful crafted symphonic harmony. The service was solid and incredibly friendly.

Mac and cheese was really good

I picked up some dinner and I really enjoyed the food. I'm picky about how my bbq is cooked but they nailed from that perspective. They also have great sauces which I loved. Personally, I love a good carry out where you grab and go but if you're looking to sit in, you may need to go elsewhere.

One of my favorite food trucks in Orlando where you pay for quality and flavor. Everything g is top notch!!. The Blue corn tortillas are homemade by the chef and are really unique. A most!

I went for burger week, and I love these food trucks turned store fronts. It is definitely take out but good. My burger was ok but I will definitely be back for taco Tuesday. My taco was flavorful and three would be great next time.

Beef empanada, pulled pork, ribs, & Cuban tacos (shameless plug-- find more on @happytoeathere on Insta!)

Nothing but good things to say here! Maya Rosa is a great addition to the food truck scene in Orlando. I was able to get a sampler of their ribs, pulled pork sandwich, Cuban tacos, & empanadas. SO good! True to the way the chef described it to us, it's a beautiful marriage of barbecue & Latin flair. The ribs were tender & fell right off the bone. It came with maduros that had a citrusy component to it. The pulled pork sandwich was paired with a pickled slaw & jalapeños that gave it a nice kick. The Cuban tacos were a fun take on a Cuban, with an ample amount of mojo pork, plus ham & swiss. The empanadas were simple but delicious, & I loved how the romesco sauce complimented it. Overall, a great experience! Those who worked there were kind & seemed to follow covid regulations (masks & provided hand sanitizer). Hoping Maya Rosa makes it to an area even closer to me soon!

West coast bbq burger

Exceptional and Delicious!!! I went there with my bf and got the west coast bbq burger as part of the Orlando burger week and it was amazing! It had brisket! And it was cooked to perfection!! I love the sauces that go with it too! The service was exceptional and the staff was really friendly! I am not kidding this is the best burger I ever had! I saw many people waiting outside to get their food and now I know why! This place is a hidden gem! I'm definitely coming back! I want to try their Mac and cheese and the rest of their tasty items on the menu!

Amazing burger from Orlando Weekly Burger week and Chimichurri Glazed Brisket with Mac N Cheese.

This is a fun food truck pod! We attended for the first time last night, the evening started out…read morerainy, but as us Floridians know...rain usually moves through the area quickly and it did last night. As the event is located on the back of Oviedo Marketplace, by Chamberlains and the Regal theaters, there was plenty of parking near the trucks. Bring your own tables, chairs, tailgating canopies or umbrellas to shade from the sun- as there is no shade. People had their areas set up near their cars, much like tailgating at a football game. The event was well attended, very crowded after the rain stopped. Saw singles, families, large groups and people of all ages. While most trucks still are cash only, I'm seeing more of the iPad credit card readers with the trucks. Still always best to show up with cash. Gastro Truck, Big Wheel, Yum Yum, Melissa's chicken and waffles, The Batter Bowl, Treehouse truck, Crooked spoon, Korean Taco Truck, Crepe lady, C&S Brisket, Firehouse BBQ, Gator BBQ, Traveling Gourmet, Mama's soul food, CK Jerk Shack Gourmet Island BBQ,Tastebuds-Catering and more were there. Notable missing: Winter Park Fish Co., Monsta Lobsta There were about 15-20 food trucks in attendance, all of the most popular trucks were out in force and a few that were new to me were out. Mama's soul food truck would be one of those trucks. Great menu, we swung by for the dessert of 3 tier red velvet cake, but there was everything from Fried chicken, ribs, fried catfish, you name it. (Menu pic posted). The service was super friendly and the food portions coming out were HUGE and a great deal for the prices charged. My red velvet cake was a nice slice, cake was moist and cooked well. The Cream cheese frosting was a sweeter cream cheese, a bit sweet for my taste, but the white chocolate chips studded on the frosting was a yummy touch. The Batter Bowl- We tried the goat cheese Triple Chocolate Ghirardelli brownie. The brownie was nice and moist, more cake-like and much less chocolatey than I was expecting. The goat cheese based mixture was swirled on top like a cheesecake layer and tasted like cream cheese- it was missing a goaty tang but was tasty. For those that aren't fans of goat cheese, don't be afraid to try this. Good price for $2.50. Big Wheel was offering fried artichokes, which were good and not at all greasy. However, they would be much tastier if the whole artichoke hearts were sliced in half so the inside benefited from the Parmesan cheese, truffle oil and chili flakes they were tossed in. When you bit into the whole fried artichoke heart, the primary taste was steamed canned artichoke hearts. Hubby enjoyed the chicken skewer, which was hoisin flavored last night. Very tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. C&S brisket truck- Hubby went for the Brisket sandwich and said the Brisket was very tender but lacked flavor, this was the general consensus from the group that tried the large sandwich. Nice deal, $8 for a whole sandwich served on Texas toast or $6 for a half. The Rachel and Reubens coming out where huge and getting raves from those around. Hubby was bummed he didn't go that direction and will check them out next time. I didn't get the name of the Latin food truck we stopped at, friends ordered fried plantains (tostones) topped with Ropa Vieja (Braised shredded beef) and raved about the flavors.....so much so that they went back for a second order. They also ordered the shrimp quesadilla that they said was good and some Venezuelan cheese sticks, which I tried. The cheese sticks started with a mild, white cheese similar to provolone and had whole wheat dough wrapped around the cheese. It was fried and served with a creamy cilantro sauce on the side. The cheese sticks were not at all greasy, quite yummy and I would order again. Longest lines: Yum Yum cupcake truck, Melissa's chicken and waffles, Crooked Spoon, Treehouse truck and Crepe Lady. Longest wait would probably go to Melissa's Chicken and waffles- my friends stood in the Melissa's chicken and waffle truck for 45+ minutes and the end of the line was still 3 trucks down when we left. They were cranking, but should look into getting another double sided waffle maker going for large events. Yum Yum opened a second window and started cranking people through quickly, so fear not if you see a long line. :) Our group had hoped Monsta Lobsta would be there, when I posted a question on their FB page, they were out of town for the weekend. Hopefully, they will be at the next Oviedo Bazaar. This was a fun event that we'll be back for!

Set in a back parking lot of the Oviedo Market Place, this event garnered some attention…read more Although, the crowd was not as huge as the Orlando Food Truck Bazaar at Fashion Square mall neither was it small like the Food Truck Pod Cafe at Lake Lilly. There were two trucks that always has a line anywhere else but had the shortest non existent line here, Pupusas and Arepas El Cacao. Sad. Too ethnic for the delicate palates of the fine people from Oviedo? There were no directional signs neither restrooms for the event. But the music was blasting away. The music at Lake Lilly tends to be a little too loud and it is hard to communicate with the food truck vendors. However, the noise level here was okay. Maybe it was the wide open parking lot. There was ample room between trucks and trash cans were easily identifiable. Nice event, nice crowd, good location.

We were running some errands in Sanford yesterday and stumbled on this Little Yellow Latino food…read moretruck... Not sure what the real name is but we will be going back and will try to re-post the name WOW! ....What a delicious & wonderful surprise! Fresh, and made to order,.... Tacos (chicken, chorizo or steak), Pupusas (cheese stuffed corn tortillas) and Pinchos (seasoned beef on a stick)... We had one of each of the tacos just to try them all and we loved the chicken the best. The green sauce is nice and hot, (jalapenos boiled to make a sauce), as the customers came and left the chef had to refill the squeeze bottle several times! The two ladies, (pictured) ordered the Pupusas and the chef handmade the patties right then and there, hows that for freshness?? The chef spoke very little English...but was it wasn't a challenge in ordering Lots of local customers stood in line to order and then waited while their hot food was prepared, (always a good sign), don't expect fast service, this is Latino slow food at its best and worth the wait. We ordered the chicken tamales to take home for dinner and they did not disappoint. Tamales were filled with chicken. olives, chick peas and yucca or potato. We managed to remember the green sauce and doused our tamale with it..YUM YUM! I found that some people are not comfortable with Food Truck dining...all I have to say is I have found some of my best meals on food trucks...especially on the streets of Mexico and Guatemala! We are posting pictures of the truck, menu (six items), phone number and some of the offerings. Highly Reccomended*****Five Stars ***** We will be going back soon!

If you're looking fresh, delicious, and flavorful food then you must try this Syrian food truck!…read more I don't think there is much Syrian specific options in the area. They are a food truck located behind a Smoke Shop on 17-92 in Longwood. We ordered the Double Arabi Shawarma. They cooked the shawarma fresh for us and the garlic sauce was top tier! We also ordered the dessert, it was like a rice pudding topped with cooked kunafa and pistachios, i love dessert and loved this!!! They were so friendly with top service and the ambiance was great with a beautiful lake view. We definitely plan to go again to try the Toshka and another version of the dessert!

Excited to try some Syrian food we visited on a Sunday evening. The food truck is behind a smoke…read moreshop and there are a few places to sit. We ordered the toshka, which is lamb meat with cheese and it comes with a garlic sauce, pickles, tomatoes and a little coleslaw for $14. Another item we ordered was the sujuk for $13. Of the two I preferred this one, it felt more filling. It's bread pressed with pickles, tomatoes and the same minced lamb filling that's in the toshka. You can make the sujuk a meal for an extra $2.50, it will come with fries and a soda. Everything we had tasted good but I felt like the portions were kind of small. The meat was a very thin layer and we both left feeling hungry still. I also didn't like that there was no actual menu in person, we already looked it up online, so we knew what we wanted but the menu doesn't share much details of what a "make it a meal" includes. For what we ordered it seemed to take a considerably long time to make, around 20 minutes. Overall it was nice to try something different, but I was unimpressed with the portion size for the prices.
