Maya Palace is not kidding when they say they have 600+ wedding dresses. The selection was diverse and if you picked one place to shop for your dress, this would be the place! There was a confusion on the time of my appointment. I booked for 10am but they had me at 11am. Nevertheless, I was able to be seen at 10am! I was assisted by an Italian lady (I'm sorry I forgot her name). She let my mom, sister, and I browse the store and pick out dresses to try on. The store is organized by designer and then style. It made it very easy to know where to look for a dress. The store got very busy as my appointment progressed. I had mine on a Friday morning but it would be a good idea to book during a weekday. I can't imagine what the weekends are like. When it came time to try on the dress, I was helped in and out of them. I would recommend wearing a nude strapless bra and full-coverage underwear. In between trying on my choice of dresses, she brought different dresses that were flattering to my shape. I ended up purchasing my dress from Maya Palace. The dresses can take six months to be delivered as the designer makes the dress at the time of purchase. I will update the review with my alterations experience when it happens. :) read more

Maya Palace is in its new location and it's a great spot. I was there for the bridal portion of the shop. They have an impressive and large selection. We worked with Mary and she was very friendly, fun, and helpful. She picked up quickly what the bride was looking for and a lot of the dresses were spot on. The new fitting area works much better - two large and separate areas now instead of sharing one small space - that's a definite plus. I would recommend Maya Palace for any bride. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the entire staff at Maya's Palace. After trying 4 or 5 other places Maya's was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I took her advice. My dress consultant gave 100% of her attention on me and found the perfect dresses (so perfect it was hard to choose which one to take). Alterations were perfect and reasonably priced. I was working with a short deadline and they were so friendly and eased my mind that everything would be done in time, and it was. Everyone is so nice and friendly, they remembered me when I would go back into the store. There dressed are priced higher than some of the other places I went to but their quality is outstanding. I searched and searched for a dress and probably tried on about...75. Maya Palace had a great selection and some of the most beautiful dresses by some of the most famous designers. I purchased an Allure dress, loved a Maggie Sottero, and will probably go back for a special occasion dress. My consultant, Desiree, was a pleasure to work with. I'm really bummed to have to write such a negative review for a local business that's been in Tucson forever but from start to finish my experience purchasing my wedding dress here was really terrible. It started off in August about 8 months prior to my wedding. Maya Palace was my first stop and after trying on a few dresses (not in their nice wedding dressing rooms btw) I found one I really liked but knew it was exactly what I wanted. They said that it wouldn't be a problem at all to alter it once it came in to make it perfect and they quoted me $50 for the alterations. The lady that I worked with kept saying over and over that I probably wouldn't find exactly what I was looking for and what I needed to order it right then otherwise they may discontinue the dress or it might also not be there in time for my wedding.... 8 months later. Anyways, I left and thought about it and ended up coming back later to order it. I got a call two weeks later saying it was in (so much for the long lead time!) I asked what the next step was and she said that they would call me when I needed to come in for my first fitting. So January rolls around and I hadn't heard from them so I called to make sure they still had the dress and I asked when I should come in for my first fitting. They said not til the end of March which was a month out from my wedding. I told them that made me nervous but they insisted that was plenty of time. I came in for my first fitting and they only measured for the length - they said the second fitting would be for the other alterations we discussed in August. I even brought I picture of what I wanted done to the dress. They said it would take a couple weeks and then I could come back for the second fitting. I called back two weeks later and they said they needed to call me back. It had been a few hours so I called back and spoke to someone else who didn't know anything about my dress but scheduled me an appointment for the following week and said "we'll do our best" when I expressed my concern about the dress being ready in time for my wedding in two weeks. Someone else eventually called me back later and pushed my appointment back another week saying that the length alternations would be finished by then and they would rather finish those first. So hesitantly I accepted the appointment for my second fitting a week before the wedding. I came in that day and saw that they hadn't touched the dress. Not one alteration had been made in the month since my first fitting. I was beyond frustrated at this point, especially because this location is not close to where I live and I had to drive over an hour and a half there after work for my initial fitting that was apparently a waste of time. She did the whole fitting over again and said the dress would be ready next Thursday (two days before the wedding) and that I needed to call by Wednesday to let them know what time I would be there on Thursday. I couldn't commit to a time right then because my whole family was getting into town on Wednesday and Thursday and we knew we had a lot going on. I called on Wednesday to let them know I what time I would be there and asked the woman I spoke to how my dress was coming along. She said she would check on it and put me on hold. When she came back she said she couldn't find it but was sure someone had it (oh, what a relief!). I came in on Thursday and the dress was done thankfully but didn't fit very well- the straps kept falling down. So they spent another couple hours altering it while I grabbed lunch next door. I came back and tried it on again and it seemed to be better but didn't have time for them to mess with it anymore... I had already been there for two hours. When I was checking out they told me my total was around $150. I eventually talked her down to $100 because of all my frustrations and left. Well, turns out it seemed to fit in the store but the day of the wedding the straps kept falling down the whole night, even during the ceremony our first kiss pictures have my dress strap off my shoulder. Overall, I loved my dress but I wish I would have gotten it elsewhere or at least had it altered somewhere else to save on the stress they caused me and to at least have it fit me properly. read more

Overall my experience here was really great. My saleswoman, Maggie, was very sweet and found a great dress that looked fabulous on me. I feel very satisfied with my wedding dress and it truly looks very lovely on me. I also am super happy that my money went towards supporting such a Tucson staple. Maya Palace is a great local business and I am so happy to be able to support it. Parts of my experience were less than desireable, though. The day I went in with my mother and sister we all fell in love with one dress, but I suggested that I would appreciate a weekend to think it over (it was the first dress shop I tried and the first dress I tried). Maggie was very firm about how one never knows the status of a designer's plans. She made it seem like there was a chance the dress could go out of print or something. I felt somewhat pushed into purchasing on the spot. It was not an extreme sense of pushiness, but it just did not make sense that one weekend could be the determining role in a dresses' fate. Later I came to find that my dress was a brand new spring 2016 collection dress so her point felt like a pure sales tactic. For a few weeks I felt super upset about this. I just wanted one weekend and felt really rushed to make a decision. The dress looks amazing and I really love it, but with such a big decision I think that a better approach is very much appreciated. Second, I requested my dress be shipped to New York state (where I reside). Maya Palace shipped it immediately upon their receiving of the dress. Not only did they did not include a garment bag, but my dress was the incorrect color. I was supposed to receive a dress with a lighter blush slip (the one I tried). The one I received had a more golden champagne slip. I was devastated to see this lack of care. Again, I am torn writing this review because I really love certain aspects of my Maya Palace experience. Their boutique is so cozy and friendly. It does not feel contrived or uncomfortable to shop there. They have so many lovely gowns to choose from and any bride would find something that speaks to them in their budget. Overall Maggie was so sweet and fun to shop with. The fact that they sent me the dress so quickly after it arrived showed some level of dedication to customers. My personal opinion is that I would have been much, much more comfortable with a less fear-inducing approach (e.g., "you don't know if they will be making this dress next week") to finalizing the sale. I also think that we would have had time to double check that the color I was ordering was the same as the sample, if there was not such a rush to sell. My dress looks lovely still and my alterations person here is making it feel more me because I honestly think I would have picked another dress that Maggie had pulled if I had not felt so rushed and had time to think. The color is not a huge problem and I am not super hung up on it anymore, but that is only because getting married is not really about the color of dresses etc. It is about love. :) read more

I am a full figured woman, and the idea of trying to find a wedding dress made me a little anxious. I decided to make an appointment at Maya Palace. Once there I meet Maggie, and she was Amazing. I let her know that I had a budget and style in mind. She was very helpful pulling dresses that were within the price range. I tried on several dresses and found the ONE. She measured me to order the dress, but my measurements didn't fit one particular size so we went with the waist size. My dress comes in and I have my first fitting and woah!!! it was very big on the top. Here is where the most talented seamstress in Tucson steps in, Sylvia. Within three fittings I have the dress of my dreams. She had altered the dress to fit me perfectly. I am so greatful to both of these women they helped me feel beautiful in a fabulous dress on my special day. Went in for a bridal appointment. The bridal consultant I had was not helpful at all! She did not help me put the dresses on and I felt like I had to do everything myself (Put on dress, zip my own zipper, hang the dresses back, etc). I wanted to enjoy the moment of trying on dresses but it felt very stressful because the lady helping us did not seem to care. My friend ended up having to come in the fitting room with me and put the clips on the dress because the lady kept going MIA. Felt like she was inexperienced and wanted to get us out of her hair. I've had really fun and exciting experiences at other bridal boutiques and Maya's palace has been the worst so far. I feel bad for giving such a poor rating but it is based on my experience. I'm sure other bridal consultants there are better. The bridal consultant ended up sitting in the waiting area as I came out to show the dress. Felt like the role of my friend and the consultant were reversed. My friend was doing her job!! My bridal consultant even asked what my name was before I left when she was filling out a form! I would recommend only for the selection of dresses but do not have high expectations on the consultants device and knowledge about their gowns! I absolutely love Maya Palace! I found my wedding gown there last year with ease. I described what I wanted and the woman helping me had me try on exactly what I was looking for. I went into the store many times between choosing my dress and my wedding, as I had 7 bridesmaids (and of course I had to show them all my dress!). Each time I visited, I was greeted with a smile and each woman who helped me was kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Alterations went smoothly and my dress fit me perfectly. Thanks to Myrna at Maya Palace for helping me select two dresses this Summer. The first dress was for our son's wedding on September 7. The second dress was for the Emmy Awards Show on September 22. I went in last minute without an appointment (I recommend making an appointment for a bigger room) but they were still able to accommodate me into a smaller fitting room. Myrna was my consultant and she was amazing. She dressed me up and helped me fit the dresses to my body very well. The place is a bit crowded but has beautiful gowns and great customer service. I ended up finding my wedding dress in another city because I'm not local to Tucson and was just there for the day but I would recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. They have a lot of beautiful choices not only for wedding dresses but even bridesmaid dresses. Unlike most brides, I can honestly say dress shopping was one of the wedding tasks I was most dreading. I didn't want to feel overwhelmed or disappointed if I didn't find my dream dress on the first try. I was recommended Maya Palace by a few friends so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. My mom and I went on a Monday early afternoon and were warmly greeted by Margarita. Maya Palace has many gorgeous gowns. Of all styles and sizes. I was looking for a ball gown and found three which I wanted to try on. That day I tried on a total of four dresses and after each dress I knew I was getting closer to finding the one. Even though we had to wear a mask the whole time, Margarita made me feel comfortable and beautiful. She answered all my questions, was very sincere and upfront with the costs. I expressed to her that Maya Palace was the first bridal shop I had scheduled an appointment for, and even though I really liked one of the four dresses I tried on, I wasn't ready to commit until visiting a few more bridal shops. Margarita did what not many workers do and told me to enjoy the bridal gown shopping experience, that I should go to other places and see what they had to offer and if I found something great and if not Maya Palace would be waiting for me. I was touched because this was a woman not looking at the profit or business she could get out of me, but a considerate woman who wanted to see a happy bride regardless of the store. If I gave a four star review it is only because the dress I liked came only in Ivory and in order to get it ivory on ivory (vs ivory over champagne) I would have to pay $75 additional. That's not Maya's Palace fault though. I guess wedding dresses now a days are not your traditional white, there's a higher demand for ivory, off white, champagne etc. I would encourage any bride who was like me dreading the dress shopping experience, to schedule an appointment at Maya Palace. The worst wedding dress shopping experience. My soon to be mother in law travels to Tucson frequently and likes this store. So when her son and I got engaged she was set on us taking a trip to wedding dress shop here. She tried to set up an appointment with her regular helper but she was out of town. Instead, we got an appointment with the owner, Suzie. We arrived to the store for our 10AM appointment and we reportedly weren't in their books despite my mother in law confirming by phone the day before. Suzie wasn't even there yet - she was "running an errand" per another employee. Suzie arrived twenty minutes later and unfortunately the experience didn't improve. I wasn't even asked what my style or vision was, therefore all the dresses she pulled were pretty much the opposite of what I wanted. I also found out halfway through that she was helping another client, which makes sense since she wasn't around multiple times when I needed help getting into a dress. Overall it was just a bad experience and I left never wanting to go back. read more

I met with KYLEE at MAYA PALACE to look for my Wedding dress. Kylee made my time so comfortable and fun. She was very Professional, Positive and Patient with me. She stuck to my budget, she suggested instead of "pushed" and pulled dresses I specifically asked for. I was not stressed out with Kylee as it was my first time ever looking for a dress. She is THE definition of great Customer Service. I look forward to working with Theresa for my alterations as well. The owner, Susana, is always around most likely making sure things go smoothly and THAT makes me appreciate buying local from someone who cares about her Customers. You would think as a woman who had been married before that I would have this wedding dress thing nailed, right? Oh dear, how wrong we can be. I was thinking I could order a dress like4 months before getting hitched- nope! So when my plans fell through to go to a San Diego bridal shop, I Yelped bridal Tucson and found this place. Made an appointment for a Sunday (already a plus). Walked in and was treated with every courtesy and kindness, despite me getting caught up in sleeves, losing my glasses every 5 seconds, and tripping on dresses. Also foolishly wore a hot pink regular bra. The kind woman who helped me just smiled and joked with me about it. Her first suggestion was exactly what I wanted, but we still tried on more to be sure. Nothing else even came close. Ordered and confirmed the next day with an arrival date. I am so excited. Beautiful gowns, friendly staff, and the only bridal shop I visited. Success! read more

I was a part of a bridal party that purchased dresses at this location. The sales people were extremely shady and very pushy. They over-promised and under-delivered. The attendants were not consistent (staff turnover is incredible) and every we went in for a fitting or payment new charges or surprises would be presented to us. The day of the wedding came and they would not release the wedding gown due to "unforeseen fees" that had been added to the account. A bridesmaid was missing her corset lace and the solution that was offered - "Find the smallest girl in the wedding party and cut her's in half." Overall I would never return to this business and I would discourage anyone I know from purchasing here. read more

It took them 2 months and I am completely disappointed in how they handled the situation, but at least they eventually reimbursed me. read more

Bought my wedding dress here, when sold they told me 1-2 hours in alterations (just length), after my first fitting charged me 7 hours for alterations. Free steaming was included with purchase, left my dress there for this. Had my mom pick up for me a couple days before my wedding and take to my venue. Well my BIG day arrived and was suppose to get dressed for photos and when they steamed my dress they never replaced my ribbon that ties my corset up. Here I am over an hour away with nothing to hold my dress up. Called the shop spoke with owners wife Suzy, who then passes me off to someone else to explain the situation to which makes me even more upset at this point as now my whole day is behind. FINALLY after a very long discussion they agree to bring it. However I feel this is THEIR responsibility to ensure that everything is properly ready to go upon pick up. They didn't even offer anything to compensate this!!! Will not be purchasing anything EVER and will not recommend to any of my friends who are bridal shopping. read more

Unfortunately, I agree with Tera E. I wanted so badly to have a great experience here and to be able to write a great review but, that is not the case. My wedding dress was a silk dress that they have tons of in both stores. It's not a traditional wedding dress. Long story short, the dress was ordered 3 times and each time in the wrong size and color. What was more comical was that the owner would call each time and say the dress was in and it was beautiful. I would say great! What size is it and what color is it ? Like she had no idea it was wrong, she would tell me the wrong size and the wrong color. You have to laugh! The last time I reminded her that I was standing next to her when she ordered the right color in 2 different sizes just to be sure one would fit. She acknowledged she remembered but oh well let's just order it again. It was a good thing I fudged on what date I told them I needed the dress because as it turned out, 2 weeks before my wedding the dress finally came in in the right color but wrong size. Luckily, it's too big which is fixable. But no way was I having them do the alterations. I put down $100 and when I went to pay, they had no record of it. I calmly pulled up my bank statement online and showed them the transaction where I paid them $100 over a month ago. They didn't fuss about it but told me they didn't charge me shipping as a consolation for ordering it wrong!! Mean time, as I waited for this dress to ship "all the way from Florida" I went online and found 2 stores in FLA where I could have ordered it with express shipping and gotten it in 2 days. There is more to this story but it's long and tedious. Bottom line, they have beautiful clothes but don't really care about the details- like when you need your dress or what color or what size! So if you go there, my suggestion is to buy a dress WAY ahead of time, lie about your wedding date by at least a month, order a size larger than you need and make arrangements to have it altered elsewhere. Save yourself the heartache! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! I ordered my wedding dress from here SEVEN MONTHS AGO! When I ordered I made sure to ask my sales person Celina to make sure that she ordered the extra lace to build up the top of my dress, and when she told me the total it was the same that she had told me with the extra lace ordered. It came in a month before my wedding with no extra lace. When I asked about it everyone ran around giving me different stories about where my lace was and they told me it shipped separately from my dress but the girl who knew where it was just so happened to be off and couldn't locate it. Now I'm not a bridezilla by any means, I went in the next day to check and see if they had located it when I was told it was never ordered but could pick from some scraps they had there. One sales girl was helpful in trying to track down the lace I needed. I got a call from the dress manager Maggie and not only was she rude and unprofessional but she told me I had to pay extra to get the lace because her sales girl never wrote it down and because it's not in black and white she will not do anything to help and that she will not give me lace that I didn't pay for. I could pay extra and get the lace that was on the top but not the lace from the bottom which was needed to build the top. My wedding is 26 days, which leaves me with no options. So i could get the lace but not the lace from the bottom trim that was promised to me. So I was accused of lying about purchasing the lace and was treated horribly Maggie. Do not buy your dress here, whatever you do!!!! When I posted about my problem on Facebook, three of my friends wrote that they were having issues with this place as well. I also never write reviews but when you spend two grand on a dress for one day (with the supposed extra lace attached) you expect it to be right. :( read more

My friends and I came to this location to see their selection of prom dresses and after how we were treated we are never returning to the store. The prices of dresses were emphasized to us in a tone that was basically like "this is too expensive for you." I decided to try on a dress, and I saw no harm in quickly going into a dressing room to try it on. While I was in there the worker rudely told me that it was reserved and that I had to get out. I understand my fault in doing that, but there was no need to be rude to me for something I did not know. So I had to go into my friends changing room and I forgot the hanger in the other changing room. So we politely asked for the hanger back, and they returned it but immediately after the worker shut the curtain in a rude manner to shut us out. My friends and I were so uncomfortable in the store after that so we left immediately. I was going to purchase a dress from this store but after the rude treatment I decided against it. I'm not sure if we were treated like this due our age or our appearance, but those things do not matter in retail, and if we were judged on that, that makes this store an immature location. I am never returning to this establishment due to the discomfort they caused me and my friends. read more
