Been coming here for my brows lately and I really love it! I've here in Lincoln heights my whole life and never thought to come here mainly bc I always went to my places my friends went to but I decided to come Eye brow threading costs 9 bucks which I know to some is a little expensive but I'm fine w the price I've paid more to have mine done The location is small, not sure if there's any parking in the back but I always find something on the street you do have to pay a meter for parking but it's like 25 cents at most. First time ever coming here, and regret it completely! As I entered, it's stuffy. I wrote my name down along with what I came in for like eyebrows, etc. Wait wasn't long at all. Now I know why. The girl that called my name was a tall slender girl. I asked her name, but I couldn't make out what she was saying. During having my eyebrows done, they kept speaking to each other in their language. Which I find very rude especially if they have customers waiting. She finished with my eyebrows and looks at me with "I'm done" look. I told her that I needed upper lip as well. I had written it on their notebook. She glances at her co worker and rolls her eyes. I got up immediately and told her not to worry about it. I walk over to the counter to pay As I'm paying I just told her once again she was very unprofessional and she shouldn't be speaking in another language in front of customers. Then her coworker responded with "It's not like we were talking about you!" I responded to her by stating "I never said you were, just that it is rude when you are surrounded by your paying customers." Now why would that be the first thing to say if you weren't? I wonder. Of course every place has it's pros and cons; yet, for me, there are more positives than negatives here. The owners are friendly and aren't scared to start a conversation. I've had my eyebrows done by almost everyone that works at Maya (and one lady that works here told me there are 4 locations - I didn't get to ask where) an I have never been disappointed. Sure some have a tougher pull than others but not everyone is the same. Prices are great; however, it's best to bring cash because a credit/debit card fee applies. The massages at the end of the threading is delightful and the person who works on you is not afraid to get in your face and pick off that annoying tiny hair. I love that every person always asks if you like they way everything is turning out. They take your demands and adjustments seriously. What I don't like is that the place is warmer than most because there is no air conditioning so that could make the process a little uncomfortable. But, other than that, I think this place is wonderful! read more

This other lady that's tall and has a nose piercing is VERY rude I gave her $7 and $2 of tip and she was like "That's it" that is very unprofessional of her and she gave me a bad look when I gave her $2 tip, NEVER COME HERE when the tall lady with the nose piercing is there. read more

I've been coming to this place sense high school. They have always made my eyebrows look bomb af and super clean. I use to wax my brows till I tired out the threading here and never went back to waxing. I love the little mini massage they give your temples when they finish up. Amazing ! Definitely worth your money plus I find it very cheap compared to other places all though they did raise their price from what it use to be. I always get attended pretty quick as well. read more

Eek! Methinks not, falls very short! Went in for eyebrow threading, have very full eyebrows that only need clean up. I asked her to do a simple clean up and she went all in and gave me "shape". Didn't ask for it and didn't like the shape she made of my brows, needless to say I had to regrow them. read more

This place rocks. I came here on the suggestion from a friend. We usually go to a place in the Glendale galleria after work and spend $20 on eyebrow threading. She heard about this place and told me that I should go check it out because of the price. I stopped in one day when I was in the area and really fell in love! My eyebrows came out great and I only paid $10 which included the tip. The salon is clean and nicely decorated, and service is pretty good. While my usual place is more convenient I think I will be going to Maya from now on. read more

Went today to get my eyebrows done. I got a lady I had never seen before. I've been going here for years since they opened. This older lady left my eyebrows uneven one thinner than the other and one arched more than another. When I asked her to clean some hair on the bottom She dipped into one eyebrow leaving it looking like it's missing hair. I regret going to get my eyebrows done. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows threaded before my wedding and asked for them to just be cleaned up, not too thin. I made the mistake of allowing the younger girl to do my brows. She ignored my request and gave me the thinnest pencil eyebrows ever. I have been growing my eyebrows FOR MONTHS for my wedding and in ten minutes, this girl COMPLETELY RUINED THEM. I'm going to look ridiculous in my wedding photos and they don't even look good filled in. Moral of the story: DO NOT LET THE YOUNGER GIRL DO YOUR BROWS. SHE WILL MAKE THEM TOO THIN. I've only came here 3x. The first time it was amazing, my eyebrows came out great. The second time i went with my friend and i found it really rude that when she finished our eyebrows she ASKED for a TIP. "where's my tip?" my friend felt bad and obligated to then give her one, of course i didn't give her one because that is completely unprofessional. When I heard that this place open I was super excited to try it out. I usually go to Ziba to get my eyebrows done. The price was super reasonable too for only $6!! When the lady ask me how I want my eyebrows I told her that I wanted to keep my shape and only clean it! She said okay okay! When she was treading my eyebrows she keep ripping the thread more the 6 times. I was thinking to my self what have I gotten myself into. I feel like she doesn't have that much experience in threading !When she was done and gave me the mirror I was super upset cause she thin out my eyebrows so much that my eyebrows look like a chola!! This place opened up just a month ago. I was super stoked to have a facial threading place open up within walking distance from my home. Really really wanted to like this place and had my fingers crossed as well hoping they were awesome in all caps. But ended up super disappointed. Place was nice and clean. The owner and lady that does the threading seemed friendly. I wanted my eyebrows, upper lip and chin done. I appreciate how meticulous she was in making sure she got all my hair for my upper lip and chin. I can feel her pressing a little too hard when she started doing my right eyebrow. I knew she had nicked me because I felt the pain/burn coming through. Although I expressed to her that I wanted, it wasn't done. Yes, we are born with asymmetrical eyebrows. But we go to "eyebrow artists" so they can help us even things out as close as possible not to make them even more pronounce and worst. Eyebrows are the most important accessories in helping us frame our face. Needless to say she wasn't too happy when I ask her to even out my eyebrows just a tad more. She started to complain to the guy about my request. So I just gave up my quest in having her fine tune her work. I still gave her a tip over 20% because she took the time to massage my eyebrows which I really enjoyed. Not a word of Thank You from the lady when I put $3 in her tip jar. When I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed that my chin had a couple of nicks too! :( At least I gave this place a try. I use to come here a lot but my favorite eyebrow lady isn't there anymore. She was super sweet and always gave me a little more extra time of that eyebrow-to-temple massage. There was one time I went and one of the girls did my eyebrows and I'm assuming she just finished eating because her fingers smelled like spices and garlic. Don't get my wrong, I like garlic. But if I know I'm going to be threading peoples eyebrows and have my hands all up in their face I would make sure my hands didn't smell. I came a time after that and another lady did my eyebrows and she completely messed up my eyebrows. My left eyebrow was thicker and my tight eyebrow had a higher arch. My eyebrows were starting to get bushy and I was too lazy to pluck them. Sooo I decided to get my eyebrows threaded. This is my first time threading my eyebrows. I live close by, so I just walked over there. The place looks nice and colorful. I walked in and the lady quickly greeted me and asked what I wanted to thread. Then she quickly sat me down and worked on my brows. It kinda pinched here and there, but it was a smooth trip throughout the session. She took her time and asked if I approved the outcome. I've been coming here for about over a year already and it's never disappointed me till today. I walked in a great mood because this is the only place I get my eyebrows done and I only trust the ladies here to do my brows but not anymore. One of the ladies that always does my brows (she looks younger than the other lady) was being kinda rushy and demanding. The final result was terrible, I've always trusted her and she's never failed me but today she really fucked up. My left eyebrow is way too thin compared to the right eyebrow. And it looks like she purposely arched only the left one making both my eyebrows uneven and ugly asf. Oh did I mention that recently I started tipping this lady because from all the times I've been coming she's been the only one nice to me but let me tell you that when I payed her she counted the money then looked at me with attitude and said "no tip ?". Umm excuse me ?? You don't ask for tips I decide whether or not I'll give you a tip, what kind of customer service is that. It's really sad that I still tipped her because I figured probably she was having a bad day or something but that still doesn't make up for the bad eyebrows I have to deal with till I grow them out. I've been coming here since day 1! I usually go with the owners wife. Super friendly and knows what to do. There's another lady who I went with once and she gave me "rub burns" and little cuts bc she pressed too hard. I just don't go to anyone else. I wouldn't go to another place to do my eye brows.
