The interior of the restaurant has some elegant and classy decor. That's probably why so many people come for business lunches here (plus the location). The staff are average friendliness, although the service speed was kind of slow. It was also weird that they for some reason couldn't find our reservation in their system but we were still able to get a table nonetheless. You know the type: pictures of beautiful people and food, tasteful font for the establishment, and a quick look at the about section of the restaurant reveals it's place as part of group founded by a bunch of executives; it's not so much a restaurant as it is an exercise in corporate branding. When you visit, you'll notice that the clientel reflects that branding design as well. Everyone here looks like they're part of a vertical strategy that includes the workers at the firm itself, the final spot on a flow chart diagram where the staff themsleves are the primary customer for the product and then a line arches back to the beginning of the flow to further inform strategic planning for more pan something restaurants. The name of this group could be called Ouroboros but that might be a little on the nose. Most izakayas on Planet Earth have better food that what you'll get here and for far less money. This said, you won't get to enjoy a space filled with the finance crowd who are all tastefully lit to ensure their Instagram selfies look good enough for them to tag themselves with the establishment. Despite claiming to be a fusion of Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine I think it was 80% Japanese, as were the staff. Not being hugely adventurous we had teriyaki chicken and sweet tangy lamb, which were excellent (could have been served hotter, my wife said). The desserts were good too my chocolate volcano was wonderful, just like the choccy pudding my old mum used to make (a tad pricey though at £4.95). A few minor gripes: our plates were whipped away as soon as we put down our knives & forks. They weren't doing it to hurry us despite being Saturday night they weren't that busy; it was just the staff's enthusiasm but it made us a trifle uncomfortable. The menus were largely in dark type on a black background all but impossible to read in the subdued lighting. And the 10% added to the bill for service is a habit that I thought had died out. I prefer to decide for myself how much of a tip I want to leave, and make sure it goes to the right person. As an aside: why don't foreign restaurants get a native English speaker to proof-read their menus? Some of the errors can be hilarious!

We were there during Ramadan, and the staff couldn't be more thoughtful and kind to the patrons who were coming in and waiting to end their fast. Classy. It was a delightful experience, and I would recommend it highly to anyone. Two happy thumbs up.
