I called Braids by Aminah on Friday night, AFTER hours, and left a message, Aminah called me back…read moreimmediately. She made an appointment for me, accommodating my schedule. As soon as I arrive, she assessed my hair and started the braiding process. She was professional, quick, efficient, and soft-handed. This was the first time I did not feel as if my scalp was being pulled from my head. I went through cancer treatment and my hair grew back except in one very noticeable spot. Aminah braided my hair so that that spot is covered. I've never been happier. She is a master of her craft. If you are looking for professionalism and someone to braid your hair, look no further, Braid by Aminah is the place to be! The shop is beautifully decorated and SHE HAS SNACKS! Thank's Aminah. I appreciate you!

I have been to Aminah's salon twice. I texted her on Friday the 29th of May, sent her a picture,…read moreand asked her if she could do the style I wanted. She agreed. I asked her if I could come on Wednesday, June 3rd, and she said yes. I am leaving to go out of the country on Thursday, June 4th. This appointment was very important to me. I arrived this morning right on time, but Aminah was not there. There were three women who was there in the shop. One of them called Aminah and informed her I was there. I spoke with Aminah and she informed me that "Binta" was going to do my hair. I responded, "Okay, no problem." Binta told me to sit in her chair. I showed her the style and she said, " I don't know how to do that style" She called Aminah back, and I guess she explained she couldn't do it (speaking French). Sidebar: if it involves me, please speak English. After speaking with Aminah, Binta said, Aminah said she can't come. I asked why she didn't call or text me, but nobody responded. Now I'm riding round looking for someone to braid my hair. TRUST ME, IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE IMPORTANT TO GO, DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AMINAH; she is neither professional nor reliable.

Hers took a matter of almost 2 hours because hers were fairly big. I would come back here if I don't have to sit too long for a style.

We agreed to a price I was willing to pay. Lack of transparency in pricing seems to be common in braiding salons.

Took my 2yr old (3 next month) son to get corn rolls. My wife likes the look so I thought I would…read moresurprise her by getting them done for him while she was gone. He has gotten it done before by a coworker and he was still and silent as a mouse. Definitely took him to the wrong place because they do not know how to do children's hair and I question whether they are even capable of doing corn rolls. He was screaming in pain the entire time and the corn rolls came out absolutely horrible. Worst job I've ever seen. They blamed it on him being so young. I explained twice that he got his hair done by an amateur almost a year ago not only did it turn out good but he didn't make a sound. That was met with looks of disbelief like I was lying to them. The whole situation was uncomfortable and frankly strange. It turned out so bad that they just told me to "pay what I could ". When I made the appointment she said it would cost 50-80 dollars, no more than 80. The receptionist asked me how much I wanted to pay, I said 80 and she gave me a look like "that's it". It was way more than they deserved and certainly more than the results we got. I really hope they do a better job on adults but when it comes to kids they don't know what they are doing. Do not go to this place especially if you have kids. The first picture was taken after my coworker did his hair with zero crying almost a year ago. The next 2 pictures were taken after getting them done "professionally " by them.
