6-19-24 Had an appointment at this office for my annual body check. First time here as I am new to the area and my primary doctor referred me here. After a checking they noticed a something suspicious on my back. Oddly enough it was located next to where I had a melanoma removed 30 years ago. The biopsy came back that I have melanoma again but they caught it thankfully in its early stages. They followed up with an appointment to remove a larger area so that they got it all. That will take place end of the month at their Hilton Head location. Next they scheduled appointments every three months for the next year to do checks on my body. I think they have done an excellent job catching it so soon and their plan to get ahead of it is wonderful. Thankful that they are very detailed and got it early. read more

We have been going here for over a year now and so far we have been pleased with the care we've received and the staff. There have been no issues with billings either so far. I am a physician and just moved to Bluffton. Need a mohs procedure, they lost all the information from my other doctors, then after not calling back for over a week, claimed "they didn't have a referral" even though I had confirmation that they had received the referral and I needed to call my dermatologist back for another referral. When I said I spoke to Devin in their office and she would contact them, the receptionist hung up on me. HORRIBLE and probably a sign of a dysfunctional office. AVOID THIS PLACE read more

I had a cancer spot removed by Dr Traywick on my back , She was very rude right before my procedure when I told her I was allergic to the numbing cream , thats not the real issue . She rushed taking out a massive margin , 5 min job and she only put dissovable stitches in below. It looked like a botched open hole the whole time . So , I called the office on day 10 to have Dr Traywick look at my stitches and they had someone else look at me . She told me they look fine. Sure enough , same night, they rip open, blood everwhere at 11 pm at night. Huge massive hole in my mid back next to my spine. My husband calls the hotline , they tell us to now stuff the wound and go to see this guy who will now help me manage my open wound in the morning . Dr Traywick would not restitch it or even see me! We saw this guy who worked for her who told us to put peroxide and vasaline in the open deep wound for months. PEROXIDE ! I knew that didnt sound right so we fought with the office to get in that day for Dr Traywick too see me . She refused , long story we got in . She was RUTHLESS , NASTY DEMOR , could care less . I asked her why didnt she put stitches on top top too to prevent it from opening . She was so ARROGANT and a NARRASSIST very UNSYMPATHETIC ! We left and went to a wound center in Charleston . They were shocked at how she didnt close up my wound, since it was only 12 hrs from when it opened . Ive talked to many other people who had bad experiences with the same Dr . Dr. McGowan botched my scalp basal cell excision and now I'm left with a hole in my scalp exposing my skull. The incision opened with stitches still in place and oozed and bled for several weeks. I saw their wound manager twice to no avail. I will never go back there and hope to find a surgeon willing to try and fix this mess. Very upsetting experience. Virginia read more

If I could give them a -5 starts I would. Horrible customer service. Worse I've ever experienced. Where to start on the list of garbage I had to tolerate with the scheduling team. 1) several appointments were made over the years only to have them cancel and then reschedule weeks and sometimes months later by this office. 2) On one occasion I got a call from the automated service to remind me of my appointment. It was recorded on my phone because I was unable to take the call at that time. I showed up and was told I missed the appointment because it was an hour earlier. I played the message back to them. They told me they had no record of that call and that I had to pay for the missed appointment, and I needed to reschedule. 3 months later was the first available. And the last straw.... On my last full body check (for melanomas) in Feb, I tried to make an appointment to see the same PA that I had been working with. Since the appointment was for 6 months later, I was told the PA's schedule would not be available for three months. Today I got a message asking me to make that appointment. I called and was told that PA no longer worked for them. Ok, I accept that but then I was told the first I could get in to see someone was in Nov. and if I wanted to see someone in the Bluffton area, I needed to wait till Dec. The scheduler told me that I just saw someone, and 6 months was based on that time. I informed her that was an emergency visit for I growth on my arm (It was not a full body check; it was to see only that spot and I had to wait 3 weeks for that "EMERGENCY" visit). She said she needed a moment and put me on hold. A new person came on the line and started to ask me all the same questions. She then told me I was raising my voice. After going through all of this, I was the one who was at fault just like that appointment they scheduled but it was an hour off, so I had to pay for their mistake. Since I was the one who was at fault, I thanked her time told her to have a good day and hung up. My bottom line, avoid this practice at all costs. There office staff treat you like they are the only practice in the low country you can use. There are plenty of real businesses that treat their patients with respect and not like an ATM machine. Run away, do not walk, from these people. I will also add this, the PA's and Dr.'s are great and treat you well. It's too bad they allow the office staff to treat people the way they do. read more

As i first walked in i was impressed gorgeous office and very clean. The girls at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. It was my first time here and i will definitely keep coming. I had Heather take care of me and performed a biopsy i must say she has magical hands! I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort and her personality was lovely. They definitely listen to your concerns and are more than willing to find several options to help you. Marvelous first impression of this place i highly recommend! read more

Just left MRD Hilton Head after having surgery to remove a little bad guy from my arm. What an awesome experience! The front desk admin crew sets the pace for a caring and professional exam or treatment - simply put, they are wonderful. I was with the previous doctor before it was MRD, so I guess I've been with them since day one and will never leave them. Over the years, I've been treated by all the doc'c and all the PA's, and never once had a bad experience. Today Dr. Carrie Hall and surgical assistant Sherry operated on me, and the caring, professional and super treatment was a joy. They brought genuine humor and patience into the "OR" which made me feel like I was their only priority. I can only say thanks for doing a great job and being absolutely great people. They rock! It's hard to believe they have no appointments except for 4 to 6 months out. Wanted to have some issues looked, developed some more severe problems and wanted to get in when I needed treatment. Forget it. This was my annual complete body scan as I have had several issues with Basal Cell Carcinoma in the past. Mandy Medlin was my attending PA and she was totally thorough with the exam. Thankfully, there was nothing found that was of major concern. I find Mandy to be very caring, thorough, and she listens well. Would not recommend them at all. My son was a patient of theirs for three years. Fast forward 2 years and they could not schedule him an appointment as he was now considers a new patient and needed a new patient appt in the far future. Makes no sense to me at all. Dropped as a patient after 4 years of paying cash each visit & out of pocket for any labs. According to their scheduler, they no longer see patients out of network, because admittedly they can charge insurance more than patient. Asked about continuity of care & preventive care, they don't care. Asked about the appointment they cancelled months ago and not communicating this no-cash policy. They don't care about sending an informative letter so patients can look for a new provider. Too bad, their providers are knowledgable, overworked and trying to see as many patients in an hour and most likely unaware --the billing offices' decisions effect people's lives and their skin. read more

They are fine. It's definately not a homey office, and I don't get the impression they are in it to make friends, but the treatment was effective, and that was my bottom line. They are also next door to a laser treatment office, which they work with for a fuller menu of skin care solutions. Their billing department is particularly cranky. Wasted my time and money for the third time, getting absolutely no where in my areas of concern. I was spoken at, with zero empathy or genuine concern to help. Your "care" providers hardly care. I'm an educated adult, who went in seeking a treatment plan I spent time researching and considering, and instead was being reprimanded as to why I wasn't allowed. I understood the risks associated with it before I walked in. If it was not your office policy, an alternative should have been provided to me. I understand there are guidelines in place, and being told "I won't lose my license for you" is hardly building a patient relationship. I never asked anyone to blur the lines for me. Again, if I wasn't a candidate for a treatment that I was requesting, give me an alternative or point me in the direction of someone who can. I don't trust your office now, I won't EVER refer someone to you, and I still need help for the concerns I sought your office out for in the first place. Thank you for making me feel even more helpless than I did when I walked through your doors. Went to the doctor for help, and had to walk out mid session in the span of 15 minutes because I become so upset. Truly the worst experience I've ever had. ***After speaking with the CEO & Dr. Traywick herself, in regard to my horrible in office experience and the ceo telling me I have an attitude problem/he "can see why his PA was short with me" she "doesn't see that as an issue or anything to be addressed with him" when I asked her if she supported him openly saying it on the phone. I showed up to my appointment early to fill out my new patient forms, as I was told I could do if I couldn't do them beforehand online. The lady at the front desk, dark hair, lots of makeup, lipstick... you'll recognize her when you see her... gave me so much attitude when I let her know I needed to fill those docs out. I heard her whispering my name behind my back, giving my more condescending attitude when I walked up to clarify where to put my husbands info in the insurance section since I'm TriCare, she told the next patient behind me "thank you for being prepared" clearly loud enough for me to hear it. I almost walked out before seeing anyone and never coming back again. All that to say the PA I saw was very kind and helpful. Although I will never be coming back here again. I've never had an interaction with someone that was so oblivious to how important their job is as the first face representing a practice/establishment. She will surely be a huge reason for a lot of loss of business here. read more
