I recently started working with an office in Stuart and wanted to provide breakfast for all the agents. I came across Max's Bagels and decided to grab 3 dozen assorted bagels to bring in. My experience was great, the service was quick, the staff was helpful, and everyone in the office loved the bagels. I'm honestly surprised by some of the low reviews because everything went smoothly for me. The bagels were fresh, there was a nice variety in the assortment, and it was an easy process from start to finish. If you're looking for a reliable spot to grab bagels in Stuart, Max's is definitely worth checking out. Based on my experience, I'll be back for more in the future! read more

Max's Bagel & Bean Company - Bagels Near Me - Stuart, Florida

From bagels to breakfast sandwiches, my Coworkers and I have been happy. There is parking in the front or a drive thru. The Employees are always pleasant. Lots of bagel choices but it does dwindle as the day goes on. Multiple cream cheese spreads and breakfast sandwich options. read more

Max's Bagel & Bean Company - Bacon, egg & cheese on an onion bagel. - Bagels Near Me - Stuart, Florida

Thought I'd try this despite the lousy reviews. How can you mess up a bagel with egg cheese and bacon? No egg, tiny bagel on top of the place looking old and not super clean like the other reviews mention. At least I tried this since I go by here often. read more

Max's Bagel & Bean Company - Floor scrubber brush and extra dusty tables - Bagels Near Me - Stuart, Florida

$5.00 for a bagel not toasted with butter. Not even a great bagel. Think I will pass next time

folks there are nice. food is good. maybe overpriced but that's the world we live in now guys. they also accommodate to my weird taste so i like them. if you go early when they open the bagels are so soft and fresh. i would recommend for sure. we go maybe once a week. read more

Clean, this place has a cute little private corner to watch the morning news . I had a classic bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel lightly toasted. Premium coffee. Also has a drive Thur. Life is smooth like cream cheese on a bagel. read more

Bagels are great, love the dog biscuits for my dog. But, I wish it was cleaner. Behind the counter, swing door to kitchen, floors, base boards behind counter and vents need to be cleaned!!! It is concerning when you can viably see build up scum and dirt. read more

Bagels are awesome 5-star. Taste like a bagel not round bread. Business acumen? 2 stars. They are always low on bagels or out by 9am been there 25 times can't be a fluke, wouldn't it be better to donate or trash the extras and have merch to sell? It's just bread you know its mainly profit. As for the ambiance, none, almost sleazy. Doesn't have to look corporate or like a franchise just not so edgy. Bad edgy. Use the drive thru and dont worry about what any body says. read more

My elderly dad used to come here every morning for a bagel and shmear (little smear of cream cheese), so I have fond memories of Max's. It is a treat for me to eat out lunch and a bigger treat to have a fresh bagel! But when I went to Max's yesterday I was very disappointed. They had run out of all salads, and I wanted a tuna, or chicken, or egg salad on a bagel. There were hardly any bagels. Ok, that's good because their food must be fresh, so they don't sell yesterday's stuff. So I asked for a turkey Swiss on a bagel. With onion and tomato. I took a picture of what I got. A "thin" bagel (I'm from NYC so bagels are big there) with literally one slice of turkey and tomato and onion. And no Swiss. For $6.99. I asked the server if that's how much they give on a $6.99 sandwich. If that's what management directs them to do. She said yes, one ounce of turkey and Swiss. I expressed disappointment and she put on the Swiss and offered more turkey, which I did refuse because I was disgusted with their policy. Kudos to her. She was nice and accommodating). I left a note for the manager expressing my displeasure of a $7 sandwich with so little meat, and for that price I could have gotten a real sandwich from Jersey Mike's next Door, and I asked her to call. Which she did today. She said they give so little meat because more than that would be difficult for their patrons to put their mouths around. ??? For $7? She said I should have asked for more turkey/cheese on my sandwich. She offered me another sandwich I asked how much a bagel costs. She said $1.40. I pointed out the sandwich should cost way less than $7 then. $5.60 For a total of two slices of meat and cheese? So: Ridiculous and cheap and what's up with accommodating patrons with less food to help them more comfortably eat. So my advice is to ask them for more stuff on your bagel sandwich, hopefully for free, or spend your $7 elsewhere for a real sandwich. PS. I never write reviews this long. Let me say again, the server and manager were both nice and accommodating. read more

Max's Bagel & Bean Company - a hand holding a sandwich - Bagels Near Me - Stuart, Florida

Bagels are too small! They are delicious and have a very good texture, but just need to be bigger. I went on a Saturday at 10am and it was busy. They had enough bagels so I was able to g.eat 1/2 dozen, but it didn't look like it would last much longer. read more

absolutely atrocious customer service, always, every time I go there, which is never again. Bagels not even good this time always run out of most popular ones, don't even think about using the drive-in window understaffed, coverrated over priced. read more

food is good. every time I come here the service is bad, workers always crabby. took them 10 minutes to charge me for 1 water bottle because they kept taking all the people behind me in line that were ordering food. read more

I am surprised by the reviews - I had a delicious bagel with cream cheese and lox. I hope to return before my trip home because the bagels in my home town are terrible. read more

Don't let the poor reviews deter you! A bagel is a bagel! You're there for the food not the atmosphere.

I have been going to this location for over 12 years. The bagel used to be fantastic. Stopped by yesterday at approximately 10:00 am. This time they were average at best. The bagels are smaller, denser (not in a good way) and tasted like they were a day old. Not sure what has changed either ownership, recipe, or the baker but clearly the bagel quality is sub par at best. You will get a better bagel at Publix across the street. read more

Yeah sure. A bagel is a bagel. But this particular business is run by people who are very unhappy and look like they hate their jobs. If you ask for too much, they roll their eyes. I ordered my bagel after this one woman did, and she never got her last bagel. Upon explaining this to the woman behind the counter, the counter woman began to yell; telling this lady that it was her fault she didn't account for all the bagels when she got her bag. Which is a disgusting answer to give when you work in CUSTOMER SERVICE. People were staring as this poor woman just wanted her bagel remade so she can be in her way with her family. Yea. The food is good. But when you run a business, who you have working for you as the face of your company matters more than the owners stand to realize. Talk to anyone in Martin county area about Max's Bagels. The reputation is not a positive one. read more

so we drove here from Ft. Pierce to buy bagels...should have read the reviews first. They closed the store early at 12:50 and would not open for us even for a carry out. They were "voted #1 for bagels on the Treasure Coast". When was that? 1973? read more

Max's is usually my favorite bagel spot in town, their everything bagel with veggie cream cheese is amazing! My husband loves the Western. Skip the chicken salad, it is somewhat mediocre. I will say I am disappointed with them pandemic wise, which is the reason for the 3 star. Staff not wearing their masks over their noses, watered down soap in the ladies room. read more

This place is dirty & run down. The air vents are filled with dirt, dust, & mold! The floors look like they half ass sweep & mop them as there is dirt and dead bugs in the corners and window sills. Some of the chairs/stools are falling apart. It makes me cringe to think of what the kitchen conditions must look like... It is too bad because the bagels taste good! That is why I give it a 2 star instead of a 1. We ordered a bagel and cream cheese and a eggs, cheese bagel sandwich & 2 large OJs - it was $16.17 - that is not outrageous but it is not cheap either - so affording to pay to get the place clean seems like it should be in the budget. The staff was nice. Clean it up (look up and down & pay attention to details)! read more

Drive Thru: Just paid $8 for two bagels with cream cheese. Got home and not only were these mini bagels but 1 was wrong flavor!!

PLEASE bring back the seven grain bagel. Charge me more if you have too. Please also have a vegan spread option. It's time!!

Delicious fresh bagels! Everything time. What more could you want.

The place was extremely dirty. No toilet paper. Bathroom sink has not been cleaned in a long time. The coffee was watered down. I will not go there again read more

This has to be the slowest, most unprofessional, unfriendly business I've been to in Martin county. If I wasn't hungover I would not have had the patience to stay. I'm not even sure they have had a health inspection recently because it's very dirty and unkept. You'd get friendlier service buying bagels at Walmart and just taking them home. read more

Just got a bagel at Maxis picked them over Panera bread very fresh very good bagels much better

Tasty bagels. I love the counter area with the stools. Friendly staff. Why not 5 stars? I'm a picky New Yorker and these bagels aren't quite NYC quality...but they are damn good. read more

Many years ago we went to Max's frequently and loved their food and coffee. Always top notch. Then they got rid of my favorite bagel (red pepper, yummmm) and so I didn't go back for many years. I figured I'd give it a try today and wow do I regret that choice. The bagels are tiny, and nothing but a salt-fest. Way way too salty, tasted like a pretzel, so if you're into that, then you'll probably love them. I was charged a $.30 "gourmet fee" which I can only guess is because I asked them to leave off the tomatoes. If I had known they were going to do that, I would have picked them off and thrown them away myself but that seemed like a waste. Service was mediocre. The place felt depressing and looked dingy. No matter, I won't be back. What a shame! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would! Woman at the front was more concerned with being on her cell to be polite. Breakfast sandwich was greasy, bacon was raw and it did not seem like my bagel was toasted. Used to come here when I lived here, now I know why it has terrible ratings on Yelp! Asli, at 9 a.m. the are almost out of bagels, WTH! I guess they couldn't be bothered to make anymore. Nope, never returning again. read more

For the money, find another! New Yorker Bagel (nova lox is ONLY 1 oz for ENTIRE SANDWICH) is ~$7.50. Not enough Lox to cover bottom of bagel-SO NOT WORTH CLOSE TO $8!
