Trying to reschedule another appointment at a convenient time for us proved to be difficult so I sought out an alternative repair company and found Houston Appliance Repair. They were able to schedule something the next day in a late afternoon time slot which worked for us. We received an email from them once their technician was en route and also received a phone call shortly thereafter indicating an ETA. The technician arrived and was able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem at a reasonable price. Shortly afterwards, we received an email with the attached invoice summarizing the work. All in all, a positive experience and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The quote came back at $3,250, even though the two water heaters cost about $681 each at Home Depot. Charging over $1,700 for installation in an easy-access garage is outrageous. Within 10 minutes, I canceled and asked for my $500 deposit back. They kept my money, never showed up, and did no work. Would not recommend. Be careful before doing business with them.

The tech, Alex, told me the parts alone would be over $900 to repair the cooktop and some of the needed parts were no longer being manufactured. I was told to buy a new cooktop. My husband, an engineer, didn't agree since the igniter was working, just not shutting off. He ordered GE replacement ignition spark switches for the 5 burners (approximately forty dollars each) and it works great again. I'm out the service fee but I didn't have to pay thousands of dollars for a new cooktop. They were the second appliance repair company I called (the first squirted WD40 on it and left) so I guess these companies are not as knowledgeable regarding gas appliances.

About two weeks later, he returned to install the part. Upon completion, I paid the remaining balance. Unfortunately, the motor only worked for a few hours before it stopped again. After waiting for a while, I decided to request a refund and look for a different company, as this entire process had taken over a month. To this day, no one from this company has contacted me about a refund, and my refrigerator is still broken. Be very careful with this company, as I feel I have been scammed out of my money.
