Its 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon after a long weekend. The first day back at work. And to top it off, its been raining for most of the day. No one wants to be in the office.
So I duck out with a friend for a coffee, the halfway point between our offices happens to be the GPO. If I had my way, our coffees would have been irish and we would not have returned to our employers. But I work in distribution, and people dont question my whereabouts, whereas my friend works in HR, she fires people for doing what I suggested.
So coffee it was.
Table service took a while, we had to get the attention of waitstaff actually after waiting for about 5 minutes without being served. And it wasnt like it was busy or anything. Losing stars already.
Coffee was ok, nothing flash, but not overly hot either. And I ordered a Macchiato. Theres not really any milk in there that should be cooling the drink down. My friend ordered a chai latte, and seemed to enjoy. But shes weird, its not even a real coffee. Average, not enough to deduct stars, but certainly not gaining any.
The bill. At just under $10 for 2 sub par coffees with terrible service... We've just lost another star. I left a $10 note there and my friend got upset and demanded I wait for my 10c change as they didnt deserve that as a tip at all. For once, I think she was right. read more
