I had to go to my Ear, Nose & Throat Doctor for something else and had a hearing test there. The Audiologist let me borrow a pair of hearing aids for a week. I loved being able to hear better and was pretty interested in getting a pair. Their cost was approximately $5,000 for the pair. I went to Costco and took another hearing test (same results for both, I'm missing a lot of high-frequency sounds). Costco had equivalent hearing aids for $1,500 and $1,600. A huge difference in price. I worked with Jaicel, a marvelous young woman who really knows what she's doing. She was really a pleasure to deal with as well. A few months after I got them one of them started acting up. The rechargeable battery in one of them wasn't holding a full charge. I decided to get a different brand rather than have it repaired (you have a 6 month money-back guarantee with Costco). The new ones work even better and I like the way they sound too (all hearing aids sound a little different). My sister, who's been putting off getting hearing aids for a long time is going later this month to get a pair from Costco too. It's sad that Medicare doesn't cover hearing aids. That's a shame as who needs them more than older people? However, saving several thousand dollars by getting professional quality hearing aids from Costco is a big help.

Feras Ackall was an amazing breath of fresh air. Literally. I was struggling being able to fly due…read moreto extreme sinus pressure on descent when flying. I didn't really know what to expect but the office was incredibly accommodating (even thought the nasal spray they use to numb you always tastes bad lol, but they can't change that). Feras saw me and said I had polyps and inflammation, and deferred to no surgery first and tried to get the inflammation down. No dice, and I was scheduled for sinoplasty a few weeks later to remove the polyps, fix my deviated septum (was that way for 2 decades), and reduce my turnbinates. He was very thoughtful in answering questions, and the day of the surgery before I was going under anesthesia, I told him I went down a reddit rabbit hole and was a little nervous about empty nose syndrome. He calmly talked me off the metaphorical ledge and was compassionate. I asked him to take photos of the polyps (if he could) because I'm just genuinely curious how big they were, and he happily oblidged. When I woke up I didnt remember much. I wouldve liked to have seen him post op but honestly I was so loopy I may have actually seen him and just forgot. The healing wasn't super fun but it was very tolerable. Annoying more than painful. He saw me in a few weeks and WOOSH I could breathe air in parts of my sinuses I didnt even know I could feel. He put me on a strict regimen of nasal rinses and where i would've already had 4 sinus infections, I'm infection free. Dr. Ackall didn't have much in terms of reviews, but don't let that deter you. He is an excellent physician who has legitimately improved my life post-op. I'm seeing him now for allergy treatment too!

These guys just sent me to collections for an unpaid bill. I met my deductible for surgery and the…read morekept sending bills. I notified them multiple times that I met my deductible for 2024 when the surgery happened. They dropped my credit score 150 points. This companies billing practices are corrupt. When I asked for a bill prior to an office visit they would not tell me how much it would cost until I was in the office for the scheduled visit. They said it would be +$500 for just the 10 minute office visit. When I complained they dropped it to ~$360 automatically. When I asked for a bill to be sent to me they demanded I pay immediately and even blocked my exit. Now this billing and collections are over the top. Despite a great surgery this place is terrible for their costs and billing. I would never go here again and regret my choice for this office. Avoid Austin ENT at all costs.
