She suggested that we try putting some eye drops. To my surprise, my eyes stopped watering. Marwa remembered to bring the eye drops on both my wedding and reception day. The looks she created for me on the days of my wedding and reception were even more incredible than the trial. She is able to work with brides from different ethnicities, producing great results for all skin types and colours. She is very helpful as well. Our photographer said that Marwa was the best, so I decided to contact her and I definitely was not disappointed. If you're looking for a professional make-up artist for any event, I would HIGHLY recommend her for the following reasons: 1. professional as well as personable: From the get-go, Marwa was always very professional and reliable. We had a pre-meeting to discuss the look that I was going for. She came prepared and asked all the appropriate questions. Her interactions and communications (via email, phone, or in person) were always very professional. She is also very personable, friendly, and easy to work with, which brings me to #2: 2. collaborative: Marwa really worked with me to achieve just the look(s) that I was looking for. I showed her my ideas and she showed me some of hers. She is flexible and is really attuned to what her clients want. She takes into account the event, the environment (indoors vs. outdoors), outfits, etc...She thought of things that I didn't even think would influence my hair and make-up. She also made suggestions taking into account my desired look. I always felt very comfortably talking to her and she was always receptive to my feedback and requests. 3. technical skill: It is clear that Marwa has the proper training and technical skill to deliver a variety of looks. Her competency is evident in her dexterity and her attention to detail. I also appreciated that she truly took her time in achieving my look. Never did I feel rushed or that I was inconveniencing her. While she was doing my hair and make-up, she would always "check-in" with me for my input. She put me at ease and helped me de-stress about my upcoming shoot. Overall, Marwa was a complete joy to work with. Needless to say, I LOVED my hair and make-up for my engagement shoot. It was just the right amount of make-up to "show up" in the pictures, but also still looked totally natural and not overdone. My hair and make-up were complete at 11am and our shoot was 330pm - 7pm. In that 8 hour span, I never had to touch anything up or reapply any make-up other than lipstick, and that was only because I ate lunch :) She did such an awesome job and I couldn't have been happier.

I had several troubles contacting them at first in order to receive a contract and put down a deposit, which was very frustrating in the moment. But once everything was finally sorted out I later had a bridal trial and then it was the big day! They were on time, cleaned up all their supplies, and were very appreciative to their salon staff for using their space. I found their pricing fairly reasonable for bridal makeup services and I especially liked how the tip was included in the total price for both my trial and our day-of makeup services. I was able to connect with Jori (the owner) at roughly 1PM and was scheduled with Brier (the stylist) by 4PM. The service took roughly three hours to complete and this is the completed work.... I am astonished that my service turned out to be so horrible when a reviewer below had the same work done, by the same stylist, and had better results. The eyelashes were promptly removed this morning by a different salon because they were beyond repairing without starting over again. I believe I am making a reasonable/accommodation by request a refund for the cost of the service and allowing the stylist to keep the 20% tip for the products used. However, the owner disagrees and believes that I should be sympathetic to the stylist because she was able to accommodate me on a special occasion (as if I wasn't paying for service to be done) who is a contracted employee who rents out space in the salon. Lastly, the owner said I should accept a partial refund due the scarce amount of customers booking appointments due to the COVID pandemic. Additionally, the owner offered to give me the refund I am request in a form of a gift card to the salon to be used for other services but again, that is impractical given that I do not plan to return. I also find it unprofessional that Jori has stopped responding back to my messages to completely rectify the situation at hand. If you wish to get quality eyelashes done, I do not recommend Blush Beauty Room. (PS the last photo is the service/style of lash extension I as hoping to receive.) UPDATE: I stopped by the salon today to dispute the service in person and I received a full refund! Jori stopped responding back to my text messages (picture attached below) and this was the only option I was left with. Since she was servicing another client I offered to sell them the gift card instead to receive the refund back in cash to which she declined and directly refunded me instead. I will NEVER be coming back and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Also, she told me in person that she already reported this google review because it was false (pictures and text messages don't lie) and cursed me out as I was leaving... do better!!

Being selected as a Diva for a Day was the silver lining of my cancer. I was pampered, styled and beyond cared for at the Max Salon and Spa in Bloomington for the day. The owner Mark and his staff were gracious professionals who took over and provided me with all of their services. After having 3 months of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries in the past 60 days and now almost half way through my 33 radiation treatments - this was hands down the only appointment I had to look forward to for the past 8 months. I was able to lay on my stomach for the first time since my double mastectomy - while receiving my full body massage. Massage therapist Travis provided stress and tension relief that I hadn't been able to achieve through physical therapy. I'll definitely be back for more! The cut, the mani-pedi, the make-up and did I mention lunch?? Yes I was a true Diva and I can't thank them enough for giving me back a small piece of my femininity that I thought cancer had taken. I would also like to thank the 2 ladies who had the foresight to start Diva for a Day - Peggy and Debbie as well as Linda for connecting me with the Max Salon and spa. Lastly, I'd like to thank my sister who traveled thousands of miles to be near my side during chemo, hold my hand when I woke from surgery and for nominating me to be a Diva. read more

He asked me if I wrote down all the info but I didn't...oh well. Me: Ohh ok... It made me wonder if she knew any idea of what Yelp was and made me not tell her that I may or may not review this experience. I may not review all the time, but for the most part, people always remember their not so good experience so here goes nothing: I got a tip from one of our managers on our floor where she got her last haircut and I was in dire need of a haircut (hadn't gotten a hair cut in almost a year so the mop on my head was was in desperate need of TLC). I told her that I loved her hair and she had a good experience with the girl at Shear Success. I said I am totally going there and happen to see they had a Groupon. Score for me - made me look forward to it even more so. Finally the day arrived to get my haircut and I was anxious all day for it because I was ready for healthier and lighter hair. Unfortunately for the hairdressers here, I compare their work with what I get back at home in Michigan. I've lived here for the last 5 years and CANNOT find THE hairstylist that is a keeper. I told the hairstylist you can do whatever you'd like to my hair, all I ask is that you do not give me face-framing layers and that it's no shorter than my armpit. I would think there would be endless possibilities as my hair was waist length. So this is what happened: She took the shears and cut off the length with maybe two cuts. Then proceeded to color my hair with partial foil. When she got to the hair closest to my forehead she slapped it on and probably punched my right eye a couple times in the process. I would have told her but I probably blacked out both times. And here is where I should have stayed quiet and not ask any questions: Me: So...what do you plan on doing with my hair (this is while she is blowdrying my hair, at which point makes me think she was close to being done) Hairstylist: Oh what do you mean? Me: Like what kind of plans do you got for my hair? Layers? Etc? Hairstylist: I already cut your hair, I'm just going to texturize it. Me: Oh ok (in my head I said, hahaha, just kidding). I don't know if it was because I had a Groupon in tow, but I felt like she did a half-ass job. Like she just wanted to get the job done. I was disappointed that there wasn't more dimension in my hair. If I wanted to get my haircut at one length I felt like I could have done that myself. I asked her if she could go back in and put some layers in there and she said that there already were layers in there but I just couldn't see them. At that, I tipped her nicely - probably more so than I should have, but since I don't think I'll go back, it was my "I'm not coming back and guess what, you'll be on Yelp." Overall, it wasn't a botch job, it was not horrible, I'm not a person that is attached to my hair, I think I was just disappointed - hoping for more creativity. And onward goes the search for the perfect hairstylist....

She is great and my hair has never looked better. I can't say enough good things about her and Kerastase. Trust her judgment. She is fun and knows her stuff. The Salon is full of the nicest people and it's a beautiful salon without being stuffy and snooty. You feel comfortable being there and almost feel bad when it's time to leave. I have paid attention to other clients, women of all ages, men and children getting their hair done. Haven't seen a bad one yet. I just am so glad I found Revive and Amanda. I had an very bad experience first time with expert and will not go back which is unfortunate…read morebecause she seemed very nice I scheduled an appointment and I came in showed Wanda pictures of what I wanted I ended up with too many highlights from a partial foil which sat on top of the rest of my hair because the way the foils came straight from the top of my head and the color was a very brassy blonde and she charged me 60$ extra dollars to tone which didn't make any difference with the shop lights it was hard to tell when I left so I paid 150$ and got home and cried i did not like the color my hair was very frizzy and not styled so I called to fix it I get scheduled with Wanda again and I just wanted to throw red on it at this point to cover up the damages and color and she put the color on for maybe 10 minutes and washed my hair it didn't fully cover my blonde or pick up a tone because she washed it out so soon then left me with washed out red tone and fuzzy bangs to walk out and bangs where a bit thicker then wanted so I talked with manger and she said she seen nothing wrong and was going to allow me to be unsatisfied and leave until I asked for half the money back to take else where I didn't want color on top of color to fix it I would not go back I would warn anyone who wants to go there to make sure you get what you want the first time luckily Wanda didn't have me sign a consent form for the coloring because I wouldn't have got anything in return but wasted money and messed up hair :(
