Since moving into the area a couple years ago. I have brought my car into this specific Mavis and have never had an issue. When I didn't have the cash to pay for one of the issues with my car, the gentleman at the front desk helped me step by step to get me the credit card/payment plan. He even stayed after closing hours.... because it still didn't work the computers were giving him an issue he gave me the keys to my car and trusted me! Zero stars option should be available for this place. Predators. Took advantage of a woman unfamiliar with automotive services. Also, English was not her first language. She went for an oil change, but was sold items and services unnecessary and way over competitor's prices. $40 "Brake Cleaning" Are you kidding me? The wipers, cabin and engine air filters were new, not needing replacement. The overpriced replacement tires (not needed) are noisy and need rebalancing. I could say more, but just do not go there. Last night we called to check on availability for a tire change service. The tech said it would take 45 min to an hour for all 4 tires and since it was late in the day, we confirmed an 11AM appointment for Tues (today). My husband arrived 15 minutes early to the appt and saw there were 4 technicians in the bay. Our car was completed at 2PM, 3+ HOURS LATER! He witnessed several other customers arrive after him and leave before our vehicle was completed. There was no explanation for the significant delay. This is not worth the time or money to schedule a tire change and have it take 3 times longer than planned. Needs improvement for customer service and turnaround time. read more

Brought in my Nissan for a routine oil change. Paid for everything. After about 1 week of driving it after the oil change, it started a rod knock. MFers never changed my oil. To cover their a**es, the changed it when the Reg. Manager asked for it to back there, despite me saying I'd like it to go somewhere else. By then, damage had been done. Wanted to buy four tires and get them mounted, balanced and put on my wifes car. Used Mavis web site to find tires and schedule appointment. So I drop the car off at Mavis just before closing time the night before my appointment, the young man I left the key with assured me the tires will be put on and they will call me the following day. 24 hours later I still have not heard from Mavis so we take a ride over to hopefully pickup the car. But the car is just being pulled into the shop as we pull in to the parking lot. The young man on duty immediately starts giving me the "we're so short staffed" excuse, but assures me the tires will be on before closing, which is about 45 minutes away. So I leave saying I'll be back in 45 minutes. About 10 minutes after I leave he calls me and tells me they don't actually have the tires for my wifes car! Bottom line I don't have the tires, the work they promised to do did not get done! This is not the way to do business Mavis! I will go far out of my way to avoid Mavis from now on! read more

I had Amazon tires delivered there for installation, unfortunately I ordered the wrong tires. I brought them the return authorization and they were supposed to send the tires back. It's been over a month and no refund, so I checked back with them and the tires hadn't been sent, something about they couldn't figure out how to package them. I went and picked them up and drove them to the UPS store and shipped them back. read more

Took my car in for an oil change, inspection, and ask them to check the brakes. Told me all four brakes and all four rotors needed to be replaced to the tune of $1,000. Took my car elsewhere and turns out only one rear brake needed replacing the other rear brake was getting close. All rotors were absolutely fine and the front brakes had lots of wear left on them. These people are preying on folks who don't know anything about cars and will tell them to go ahead. They lied straight to my face about these issues in hopes that I wouldn't be smart enough to get a second opinion. Deplorable! read more

Mavis Geneseo is charging $12.99/qt for 5W-30 full synthetic oil ($7.17 average price). I asked for a tire rotation, which was listed on the invoice, but they never did it and charged $14.00 labor charge for what I'm not sure. Additionally, the "manager" had attitude. Bottom line - $122 for an oil change (with attitude) is absurd. Won't be dealing with Mavis any more. read more

Stopped in for a couple lugnuts for my truck. Well the gentleman not only found the lugnuts I needed (stopped at 5 places) but came out, put them on, checked the rest of the lugs .... I made an appointment. When I walked in there were 3 sets of people waiting and 2 that had just dropped off their vehicle and left. I was told there were 2 inspections ahead of me(who also had appointments) and that the inspections would take an hour. So what good does making an appointment do when they do first come first serve!!! They may do a good job once they start working on the car but I have to wait for my service and I don't want to wait 3 hours for a service I scheduled in advance for an hour. read more

My daughter goes to SUNY Geneseo college and every time she has an issue with her car Josh and the boys over at Geneseo Mavis take care of her car right away and always do the right thing. Just recently changed out her battery. Josh had it done immediately and made sure the terminals were cleaned up and put back on the new battery so it doesn't corrode like the old one did. I wouldn't give this store any stars based on my most recent experience but I don't have a choice. The store clerk Hannah was rude and beyond professional. I made an appointment through the call center do 2:00pm, when I got here she said she couldn't get me in for an hour or so past that, I told her that I drove all the way from Rochester, Which totally effected my work schedule and she very snidely said there's nothing I can do about that, so I had to bring it back ''tis morning. When I complained about the call center her response was, none of us like the call center either I'll also add that each time I've encountered Hannah she acted extremely put out and bothered that I was there to have my vehicle serviced. This is not my first encounter with her over the top obnoxious behavior. Another time I was in the store they asked her to work over her scheduled shift and she went off dropping f-bombs and more in front of customers. The manager there is great but as long as Hannah remains an employee at the Geneseo location I refuse to use their services. I hope this isn't the type of behavior Mavis likes representing their stores. read more

We took our truck here for typical maintenance. fluid check, tire check, break check etc. We already knew we were going to have to get new tires so that was fine. We had asked them to pay extra attention to the breaks as they were making noise, the technician had said that the breaks didn't need to be changed. Needless to say, we are both very disappointed in the service we had received. All 4 new tires put on after supposedly being balanced. Now not only did we still have the squealing, but now there was vibration in the truck driving down the highway. Ok. From there took it to the Mavis in Henrietta beings we were right there telling them of our concern with what our truck is doing. they rebalanced the 2 rear tires and called it good. Did not check the breaks or anything. Very sad to say we had to take our truck to the Dodge dealership after all this and pay an additional almost $300.00 to replace the breaks as they were bad and should have been changed when the tires were done. I think it is safe to say we will never be going back to this shop again. I hope you guys get your company in order. Especially beings the young gentleman refused to check the just the tires on my truck because the driver's door wasn't able to be opened after he said it wouldn't be a problem because they are supposed to tow those vehicles in instead of climb over the passenger seat. read more

We came to Mavis during a road trip after a scary black ice experience where we did several 360s on the highway. We were shaken up and felt we needed to have the car checked for damage before resuming our trip. It was the weekend adjacent to Christmas, but Mavis was open. They accommodated us right away and even let us leave our dog in the car as they were checking it out. They were concerned for our safety and promised to thoroughly check the car to make sure it was safe to drive the rest of the way (5 more hours). In the meantime, there was a waiting area and they even had toys and books for our son to play with while we waited. Less than 40 minutes later, they had fully checked the car, and to our surprise found no damage. They cleaned the rims of debris that we had picked up when we slid o to the median and that was the extent of it. We were very lucky. I would absolutely thrilled that nothing more serious had happened. Then I went to pay. They didn't charge us anything. I nearly started crying - they refused payment, stating that they'd just done some checks and cleaned the rims. It had been a very harrowing morning and I can't tell you how touched we were at their kindness. I would highly recommend these kind, honest folks. Thank you, Mavis! read more

I called earlier in the week and was given a quote on an oil change, and then ended up having to pay 30 dollars more than the agreed upon price because my car needed "special oil", which I know to be untrue. Was unable to get my tires rotated or have a flat fixed because the wheel lock was in my trunk, however, instead of calling me or asking me to leave it out, they just opted not to do it. The girl at the service desk was extremely rude and brisk, and not accommodating whatsoever. Overall very unsatisfied and disappointed. Will not be going back and will warn others. read more
