Call first to confirm. I made an online appt for an inspection on a Saturday since no other places are really open to do that work and drive about 20 minutes to this Mavis. When I arrived - only person in there - she barely looked up from her computer only to tell me that they can't do an inspection because the guy who does it is on vacation. This is my second time coming to this Mavis location for service on my Jeep and boy do they work wonders. Not only do they diagnose my car trouble, but they got me my parts same day and install. We were pushed into buying new tires, even though we only needed one tired fixed, and the other three tires had several years left. Almost got talked into replacing the suspension as well - which is COMPLETELY fine. On top of spending $475 on tires we didnt need, they also charged $50 for power steering flush service, that CAN NOT be performed on my car. Then it was hours of wait for a job that they said they would perform right away and I walked out with a $631 bill for having a nail in my tire. This was a different shop than the Mavis who had told me a couple months ago i needed a new axle immediately which luckily i never did. Will never go to to Mavis again. read more

Came to Mavis Discount Tire after making an appointment for a car inspection. I made the appointment the day before at around 2pm. I get to the location and they started asking me when did I make this appointment and I tell him the time and he proceeded to tell me that Tuesdays and Sundays they have no inspection services. First, why does the website allow for appointments and second, why didn't a staff reach out since I made the appointment during bussiness hours. There is no excuse. read more

BEWARE - I came to get my front tires replace (which I provided) + replace TPMS Sensors in my vehicle. After spending $300 in the services within 3 weeks a value on one of my tires was damaged. They wanted to charge me $189.00 for the repair until my husband got involved and miraculously the price went down to $79.99. They attempted to take advantage of a female and the shop manager is a condescending male who is used to belittling people. I WILL not recommend this place ever. read more

Worst service went to get wheel alignment, 8a.m. said about 40 minutes. come back about 1 hour guy says i need oil change.didnt need it, says need to replace brake fluid .not needed, says need new power steering fluid ,not needed. Car is up on lift. they bring me in....... look at this,...... look at that....... I say no just wheel alignment.Remember I waited about 1 hour already so I say ..Is the car ready yet? Girl says ,let me check. She goes out some argument with worker ,comes back says 1/2 hour more. They didnt even start it yet. Now it's 10 o clock. She tells me guy told her he told other guy to tell her it was delayed and she said he never told her. this and thats why she thought it was done when it was not. Now its 11 o'clock I'm watching TV and I see my car is parked out front. After waiting because of there mix up no one told me car was done and i'm sitting there. I ask the lady what is wrong with the service here? She gets attitude, starts telling me how it works, yada yada.. so I say first, your guys are not communicating with each other, if they would have told me there was a delay its cool. Second ,she did not know it wasn't done ,she said let me check. So not only are the guys not communicating with each other they are not communicating with her. After her attitude I just said ;so when a customer says the service could be better you just start telling him about procedure? She repeated the same thing about how they do things and so on. Its not surprising the service is bad when a customer says the service could be better they just get rude. All it would have took was 'I'm sorry for the misunderstanding we hope we can do better next time. So go there if you want but Goodyear across the street is much better. This is the worse place to have anything done on your car. Came to replace 2 front tires which I supplied new. They call me and told me that 2 sensors weee damaged so I paid them to replace them. 2 weeks later I start losing air on a daily basis from where they changed the sensor so I went back to them. They want to charge me to replace the sensors that they already replaced saying that they were damaged and air is leaking from them. I spent almost 300$ on the 2 sensors and replacing 2 tires and now they want another 180$ to replace the same sensor that was already done. These people should be ashamed of trying to take advantage of people. I would not advise anyone to patronize this business. read more

Brought my car in to get a simple tire change for my rear tires. Somehow, they managed to ruin all four of my tires sensors. Then they told me to go to Toyota go fix the problem they caused and they would reimburse me for whatever money I spent at Toyota. Now they're saying they won't reimburse me and I'm out over $1100. You're better off going to any other Mavis branch. Or you can just damage your own car instead of letting them do it. It'll save you some time. *Update* After charging me the initial $448 for the awful work the did to my car and then sending me to another place where I got charged $1163 to fix the disaster they caused, they offered me a refund of $120. Do not come here for an oil change. I had one done a year ago and a month later my check oil light went on. I brought it in and they acknowledged someone didn't tighten the bolt enough and I was losing oil as a result. They made things right tightened the cap and topped me off. Fast forward to this summer. I did another oil change. Same exact issue happened again! I moved to a new town this fall so another mechanic told me the news this time. I made an appointment for 10 AM Saturday, March 5. I arrived at 9:30 AM and spoke to the gentleman at the desk. I told him I had an appointment for an inspection and he told me I would have a four hour wait. I said I have an appointment for 10 o'clock he said yes but the inspector is the only mechanic. How is that my responsibility. Why didn't anybody call me. No response. This place is very unorganized. I called the complaint number they said the manager should've called and told everyone who had an appointment that they only had one mechanic but they don't do that. Very irresponsible. read more

My car had a flat tire. I called in the morning and got an appointment for the same day. The tire had to be brought from their warehouses however, it arrived as promised. The correct tire for a price that was lower than the dealer price. The staff was nice, especially Mr. Adrienne from the corporate office who made the arrangements. He was kind, professional, patient, informative , listened and communicated well. Eric at Mavistires the receptionist/ greeter etc... doing many jobs. Since the minimum star rating is one star, that one is for the free air. Mavis makes the service at the DMV seem like you're saying in a suite at The Plaza Hotel. I called to make an appointment for a wheel alignment. When I came in, I was told that the wait would be 1-2 hours. After waiting 3 hours, I got frustrated and asked if there was any idea of when my car would be ready. I was then told that there were 2 more cars ahead of me and that it should be finished before closing time which was 4 hours away. Needless to say, I demanded that my keys be returned to me and left. Not sure how my mavis experience could have been better. Had a tire blow out on the Hutch called mavis 800 number and great guy found me the closest Mavis (about 3 miles away), confirmed they had my tire ( an uncommon run flat that usually has to be ordered) they did, he made an appointment for me to hopefully speed up the process. When i got to Mavis EVERYONE and i truly mean everyone was awesome... Check in was quick, they understood i was on my way to an appointment and immediately got my car up on a hand jack and changed my tire. I was in and out of there faster then ever, (ive been a mavis customer for more then 25 years) almost felt like a pit stop.. and in the short time i was there all of the staff from checkin to manager to workers i interacted with were just a delight. They say u live n learn so I'm spreading the word to those that buy new tires from mavis they offer u insurance for each tire but the hassle of getting it checked u can never get same day service from them unless you there when they open the store they advertise Sundays open till 5 pm so I called wanting to have it checked and was told they couldn't .Your trapped with mavis once you purchase their insurance if you take the tire else where it voids the policy. So I wonder when these tires go bad shall I purchase new ones elsewhere . I don't like driving on flats but u can't never get the tire repaired when u want to dealing with mavis. I booked a reservation for a front brake special. I was tight on money and against my better judgement I took my heap to a chain repair shop. I have been to Mavis about ten years ago for tires and mechanic work, so there I went. I dreaded them pulling off that tire and checking those brakes- you know how it is- you go for one thing and they find 15 others to make up for the discount...right? So I held my ground and went on for- BRAKES ONLY- that's what I told them. No, ifs, ands, or buts. Then I strolled out to get something to eat nearby, just so they wouldn't try to convince me about anything else. Upon my return, after about a 30 minute wait I was called out to my vehicle...here we go...I thought...the BIG SELL...right? WRONG! I In front of me stood my vehicle on the lift with her front brakes exposed and there it was a completely broken rotor. I don't mean a little crack either...my rotor was SPINNING around completely detached and useless. As the technician began to explain to me what was going on and how much it would be, I was horrified. How was I going to be able to fix this? I couldn't drive around like this, it was dangerous. To my surprise gave me a quote that was reasonable and within my budget. The job was done very quickly and my car is stopping smoothly , no squeaks or rattles. I called this afternoon to get four brand new tires. My old Michelins were falling apart, to the point where the metal was showing through. I spoke with Will and he told me that he may not be there when I arrive, but his guys would help me. Edgar took care of me. I asked for Yokohama tires in advance and they had them in stock. Only issue is one of the tires needed a new tpms. It was ordered for me and I'll have it installed tomorrow. They explained to me that my tpms light would be on, which is understandable, if it needs to be replaced. The guys kept in constant contact via phone with the progress. I came here back in February to purchase a new tire. I live in this area and you receive reviews and feedback from people in the community that you might not hear anywhere else. Many of the complaints centered around slow service and dubious quality of products. However despite this, I decided to give them a try because I had a coupon to use. I went there and yes, service took really long. Just under 2 hours to get a tire replaced and wheel alignment. But this alone is not why I give it a negative review, it was the tire I was given. In less than one month's time, the tire fell completely apart. This was in comparison to my other three tires that I have had over two years and from regular driving and wear and tear. When I went to get it replaced (somewhere else) they showed me the tear and inside and it looked like the damage was from a tire that was really old, not from a tire that was supposed to be new! Now, I have no proof that Mavis sold me an inferior tire but it was just too much of a coincidence. The fact that they took so long to find and replace a tire, were being really pushy about buying insurance for the tire, and they could not answer basic questions about the product. If you have used Mavis before and have had good experiences, I would not recommend THIS store. The quality of service and product are poor and not on the up and up. Go to another location or try some of the local places in the area that will give you better service! read more

BEWEARE. DO NOT COME FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT. First I made a 10:30am appointment and did not get called until 1:30pm.! I was given back my car totally out of place. My steering wheel was crooked, now have a misfire on my dashboard, and car pulling left and right. Manager told me he would be back the following Saturday to fix the issue. I go and he calls out of work. They try to realign my car but I still have all 3 problems. The same day I was there 4 other people came with the same recurring problems. Told me that the "paperwork" takes "hours" and car wouldn't be ready till lunch (it was 8:15am). Said I would pay out of pocket.. and they said car would be ready in 2 hours. So, I assume that means the "paperwork" takes 2 hours???? Went to Firestone in White Plains and they completed the whole job in 45 minutes (even all of the Fleet "paperwork", which consisted of punching my count number into a computer). They did good pro work while I was there Monday. What I really appreciated was today (Thursday). It looked like the psi sensor was bad in one of the tires. I stopped there on my way home. Never come here! I went for the free tire rotation you get when you buy tires through mavis (I got the tires from a different mavis). I told them to do an oil change since I was coming close to due for one. They called me multiple times suggesting more work to which I declined. I wound up agreeing to letting them change my battery which is 5 years old. BIG MISTAKE! They do not check your alternator when they change your battery like normal mechanics do. 3 weeks later my car died. I wound up back at mavis since it was a Sunday and I did not know at the time it was my alternator that went. A week later my car was making noise again so I took it to my normal mechanic. The under shield had broken off thanks to whatever these guys at mavis did. I asked the mechanic to check the work. GOOD THING! My engine belt was put on incorrectly and if it continued to operate that way the belt would have broken. To top things off, this place is so bad they couldn't even reset my internal car counter so now the light is flashing that I need an oil change. Spend your money anywhere else but here. read more
