I know places like this always have bad reviews but this place really is a disaster. Making an appointment online never matters here. You will wait hours. They also talk you into so much extra spending you don't need of course. Made an appointment for an inspection for 1 pm, went in and they said they'd call in an hour. Already too long for an inspection but we waited. An hour and a half goes by so we come back and ask if it's done and we are told the "only have one inspector here today". After over two hours of waiting and they still didn't even start inspecting the car yet, we just asked for the keys and left. Definitely not coming back here for anything. If they would have told us in the beginning they were backed up instead of telling us an hour, we could have left and saved a lot of time. Thanks for that! read more

I don't typically use commercial auto shops as they tend to be rip offs. With this mavis shop I must say I had no issues. Booked an appointment for a wheel alignment, got a call same day after booking it to confirm. Got a call to confirm day of appointment. Arrived fifteen minutes before appointment and was told probably an hour and 15 until completion. Went for a walk came back pretty much that time later car was done. Price was very reasonable. No upsell. No nonsense like at the dealer where you come in for oil change and they tell you oh your transmission fluid needs changing and air filters at $100 each. None of that. Went to Mavis this morning for a patch, I could have plugged it on my own at home but didn't want to make the tire worse so I then took it to you this morning. you told me you guys don't patch tires and just plug them. I said not a problem you can plug it. It was my fault to start the scam you did to me today by saying " I'm not the best with cars" and you answered with " not many women know anything about cars that's what we are here for " Before they asked me and showed me the " nail" in the tire. ( It was a little needle. I drove around with it for 2 weeks , filling it up on my own until I had the time from just giving birth to now. ) they removed the " nail" and told me it's on the side wall and I need to get a new tire. There is no way it was on the side wall because we took a look at it before I brought it in. ( picture shown ). Before even scamming me into a new tire you should have showed me before you removed the needle from the tire and said you will need a new tire is that something you would like to do? You gave me NOO choice but to buy a new tire.. what am I supposed to do drive around with no plug in after removing it? I then get a price of $303 from the tire... I have a Honda CVR , the tire should be no more than at LEAST $200. The manager then says he can give me a $40 discount, didn't make me feel any better when a man came in and he gave another $40 discount to him doing whatever it was with his car. I asked for the managers name and if he could write it down for me , he then says " why would you need my name " and walked out. If you are PROUD of what you did you would have provided me with that information. Clearly , not proud of what you did to me today. I will be calling the tire company provided on the tire today to tell them what just happened. I have been going to Mavis for years and for all my cars and today I felt the most scammed ever. Awful! This is the only negative review I've written as I try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt so take this review seriously. I went in last Thursday and Christina came out to my car to assist. She told me my alignment was off and advised I get one with my tires (driver side front and back) and told me she had to order my tires and they would be in the next day (Friday). Long story short they gave me the run around and I didn't get the tires until late Saturday afternoon. As I pulled out of the parking lot (they had just closed) I noticed the tire pressure was off and my new tires were overinflated and my car was pulling to the right. I went back again on Sunday and they argued with me that the pressure was correct and my alignment was accurate but that I should NOT have gotten an alignment, which again was sold to me by Christina. Twice, they did an alignment on my car with the wrong tire pressures!!!! This is a TIRE store, how do you let someone leave with incorrect pressures????? And perform alignments with mismatched tire pressures and tell me it's accurate?!?! The gentleman that works up front was very nice. Christina was rude and upsold me and the mechanic was incompetent. In my case it was aprox. $1,500.00 in repairs that were needed. When you as the service company don't stand by the work by agreeing to fix the further problem created by you, it does not show your company acts in good faith. Also, when you cause a further problem knowingly or not, having the decency to work with your customer on Their Time should be the priority. Saying your not the dealer is not allowed since you took on the work in the first place. I had a slow leak in one of my tires. I needed to get it fixed so I made an appointment at my local Mavis. 1 o'clock appointment I got there about one. and Charlie at the front desk said I would be finished by two and he was as good as his word. There were two nails in my tire, and he got them both out and patched them up. Some people might've been finished when they found one but they took the extra time to make sure nothing else was wrong. Charlie also suggested some other services, but didn't push them on me. All in all, I was door to door with my car fixed in less than an hour and a half. Very highly rated! read more

I see all of these horrible reviews and I'm surprised. I took in my father-in -law's car for 2 new rear tires. I told Charlie that the car was feeling wonky and asked him to please check it out. It ended up being a huge job because the car (which was bought used for a local car use) was in really bad shape. Charlie showed me the wear and tear damage to the car, which was extensive, was courteous and even offered a discount once he learned my brother-in-law was a 9/11 survivor. Not only was my car not touched but I pulled the dip stick asking why my oil was still dark??? I was told to f@&! I would be giving only 1 star however I went to Mavis on a Friday night and Charlie who seemed nice plugged my tire for didn't charge me however hit me up for a tip. Two days later and the Sunday before Memorial Day I had 5lbs PSI in the same tire. I brought my car back in and Booker T helped me and really went above and beyond for me. I would give it a zero if I could. Horrible service and rude customer service and mechanics that argue back. First off I went cause my car was making sounds. So I went the first time and they told me I had the change the brakes and rotors. Sound of my car stayed the same but actually got worse the next day. They also stole a tire as well. Who does that. I brought it over to an honest mechanic somewhere else and they diagnosed the problem within 10 mins. Mavis are just money hungry people that don't give two sh*ts about their customer. They verbally quote a price and when you pick up your vehicle they charged you more than they quoted for the tires saying "I pay more for the tire than you're saying I was gonna charge you". Then they tried to tell me I needed brakes when I had just had them done. The icing on the cake is their printer is set up so that the pricing (other than the total) is obscured by the preprinting on the receipt paper. Charlie is the man, a young man but still " The man!" There are days when I work as an actor, some days I'm a comedian, other days I'm a security guard, and today I was working as a driver ( not the best day to get a flat tire although no day is really good for a flat.) I had a client in my car and I apologized that I needed to get off of the road and head to a gas station to check my tire. The tire was losing air by the minute so I did the ' ol Google search for " tire places near me." Mavis showed up and was just a two minute ride away. My three " full of air" tires and my one " little guy" made it over to Mavis and that's when I met Charlie. I explained that I was working as a driver and I had a passenger with me and I had a flat tire. Charlie was so kind, helpful, and had a positive attitude. He asked which car it was and got me right in. The service was unbelievable! In a world where there is so much negativity, I'm delighted to say that Charlie was a true pleasure to work with. If more places hired people with Charlie's attitude, the world would be a better place and there would definitely be more positive reviews. He plugged my tire, told me drop off my customer, and then return if I needed to. I cannot say enough nice words about Charlie. Had my brakes done because my usual place couldn't take me. Mavis took me relatively fast and the price wasn't terrible.

I brought my car in today to have a leak plugged in my tire. The gentleman walked out to my car and immediately said you need all the tires replaced they are bald. He referenced the 22 written on the tire and said that that is their age and they need to be changed. I told them that I only wanted the leak fixed for now and they told me I would need to sign that I was refusing to replace dangerous tires. After waiting for over an hour he brought me my keys and told me they had put in two plugs. When I went to pay the lady behind the counter, she told me I had no charge. I questioned it because they put in two plugs. She went to confirm with the mechanic who told her they didn't actually do anything. They took the nail out and put the nail back in and said they couldn't fix it. I immediately drove to another place who told me I did not need my tires replaced that I had 6/32 tread left in almost all of my tires. One of my tires was as much as 8/32. Spoke to a gentleman yesterday and made an 8 a.m appointment for today. I got there 10 mins before to see a line already inside. Thought to myself thankfully I have an appointment! The women behind the counter told me I would have to wait over two hours even with my appointment because their "call center" booked 14, 8 a.m appointments. Not sure how true this is because the guy I spoke to yesterday said I will see you tomorrow and take care of your tire for you. Who likes waking up early or to an alarm on a Saturday? No one! I will never go back! I went less than 1/2 a mile down the street to tire discount across from ace hardware and shop rite. I was in and out in less than 30 mins and to top it off they gave me a way better price!!!!! Mavis was going to charge me over $150 and I left tire discount with the same tire brand new for $103 tax and all included. These guys have been servicing my families cars for years and I will never stop going here! Don't go anywhere else this is the place to go. made an appointment for 9 am at the Hicksville location for Sunday 4/7/2024 for 9 am for tires and brakes. was called and told there was no Mechanic working so I moved to this location. got there at 9 am the person who was in the office took my information and I sat down. Went here to get a puncture repaired. They claimed all tires needed to be replaced. 2 tires were old but 2 tires were purchased 3 years ago from them. When we asked about the warranty they refused to honor it because we hadn't done yearly alignments and that was considered neglect. It was too late in the day to go elsewhere and we caved in. When we arrived home we noticed that one wheel hub cap was missing. We went back and told them about the issue, they said they couldn't find it and that they wouldn't provide a replacement because we couldn't prove that it was their fault. He lied about everything from how much time it will be take to fix the car to what would it take to fix the car and as to why they need to charge me so much. Terrible. The service is a joke. Had to leave it overnight for break pads that apparently I didn't need and a tire rotation. I had an appointment. 20 minutes before they closed I finally got them on the phone to tell me that I could pick up my car. No call for an update, nothing. No idea what they did to my car at this point but the next day when I went to pick up the car was on the lift with the hood up. The woman at the front desk clearly hates her job because she is a useless idiot who can't even answer the phone. I was told that's what they do, they just leave it on the lift which is clearly BS. Well done Mavis you set the bar for crappy service and a terrible staff. Had to call 4 times just to get an update. Every time they put me on hold it was a 10 minute wait, then they wouldn't come back on the call "how can I help you". The proceed timeout me on hold again. Terrible. Go anywhere else.
