At this location the cashier is so busy on his phone talking g to his "boy" that he can't help an elderly couple checkout or look them in the eye and simply answer questions... Very gen z douchy. This is definitely a don't-judge-a-book-by-it's-cover kind of place. We came here during a COVID-19 road trip. The first time it was for gas only and we drove for the next 40 minutes looking for food and a bathroom. The 2nd time we realized that the only public bathrooms exist at gas stations or supermarkets. Mavericks bathroom is far superior to Smiths market. Mavericks follows all the social distancing policies. Once inside you are blown away at how clean it is, bathrooms, shelves, floors, everything!!! I was impressed at the range of items for sale. More than the usual snacks, which were plentiful and priced well. They also sell decent wine and a reasonable selection of liquor as well. You can tell I've been impressed so far. The most impressive part of Mavericks is the quick food service counter called Bonfire Grill. They serve hot subs and a variety of Mexican favorites (taco trios, burritos, quesadillas all with fresh lettuce and pico de gallo. Guacamole is extra. Price point is $3.50-$5.50. So it's a reasonable value. The counter person was clean, conscientious, and very helpful. We will be back!!! read more

If you've been to one Maverick you've been to them all, but then I suppose that's the appeal: you know what you're going to get. Which was true here. Restrooms were clean enough, employees were friendly enough. Plentiful snacks and convenience products. This is a large location, with tons of gas pumps. Our most recent stop was a bit before 5am, and we saw a gigantic rental truck back into a pickup. It was horrible and loud, but thankfully no one was hurt. This speaks to the negatives of this location, though...so packed ALL THE TIME. read more

Usually spotless and a great pit stop especially on trips. A good variety store with food, sodas, beer, hot case, even ice cream. Sign up for the Adventure Club Nitro for points ans $ off on fuel charges. Just like an ATM card so protect it. Located in Utah, Idaho and Nevada for sure. read more

I would name my son maverick after the experience I just had at this gas station! We're road tripping to CA for Christmas and had an overnight stop in Elko. After grabbing breakfast and a horrendous coffee from the unnamed yet ever iconic Golden Arches, I knew I'd need a different solution for my caffeine craving. While my husband filled the tank, I walked into maverick not expecting much and was blown away! Three different roasts to choose from, multiple different creamers, plus syrups and half and half. I grabbed my large Colombian roast, added a little non dairy vanilla cream, and then was able to use self check out to pay. 10/10 would recommend this maverick! read more

This Maverik is absolutely everything you want and need in a gas station/convenient store. This place is a must for any I-80 traveler. Conveniently located right off of the interstate. Big store, large and clean bathrooms, and unlimited offerings inside. And did I mention Cinnabon?! This Maverik was recently demolished and rebuilt. Before it was rebuilt this place was small, dirty, grungy, and old. It was in severe need of an update. And this newly built Maverik is incredible. Not to mention the 12+ gas pumps outside with unleaded, diesel, and ethanol free options, you'll find everything you need here. Only 2 reviews for the busiest convenience store I have ever been in? And maybe the smallest to boot? This place is teeny tiny teeny weeny. And as other posters have said...one bathroom. Just go elsewhere if you wanna use the can. Maverick is pretty cool, but the new ones make these old footprints look bad. REAL bad. Plus the getting in and out of this place is just one added hassle. Not sure I could recommend someplace else in Elko over this place. But this place, for a Maverick, sorta sucks. read more

I was Treated rudely and the cashier refused to give me back my 5$ for gas I couldn't fit in the tank,insisted I waited at end of a huge line after I just waited through it once so I had to just sacrifice the change because I had kids waiting for their supper . And when I called to make a report with the manager the same rude gal answered and refused to put me through then hung up on me after a couple 4letter words at me. I will never go to that place in a million years, they really need to properly train their cashiers and hold them accountable for their attitudes toward customers. This stop in Elko, Nevada, where we were having car issues, was met by an employee who went above and beyond in customer service. Our car was experiencing radiator issues and while fueling up we realized we had a leak. We were lacking sleep and over heated at 4:00 am when an employee, Dave came to our service with many options we could move forward, from Part Stores to the possibility of helping us acquire JB Weld and a Jack to work on our car. Dave went above and beyond and we were very grateful for the friendliness and concern he shared. The store itself seemed very clean, organized and superior to most stops we found on our trip. This is a convenient stop going to/from work. The Bonfire Grill foods are good quality and a great deal for a bite to take on the road. Coffee is always hot a good, a plus when just getting started on an all-night run. read more

This rating is for the coffee they sell the at Maverick gas station. It is really good stuff! We were visiting a friend in Spring Creek and while we were there each morning she would bring us cups of coffee and put them outside our room. When I woke up I'd drink it and it was delicious. I don't remember the brand name of the coffee, but it was better than the coffee in most coffee shops like Peets and Starbucks. I'd never expect that from gas station coffee. read more

There is only one toilet in the place and the bathroom was dirty. We stopped there twice in a week, coming and going on a road trip, and it was gross both times. They offered the porta potties outside as an alternative. Uh, no thanks. It's the oldest, tiniest Maverick's I've seen, so if you have to stop here do not expect the usual options. read more

The new place is beautiful. But the Cinnabon workers seem to not like the jobs all too well what seem to be the supervisor was yelling at one worker yesterday and I seen her walking to the restroom crying. The food is great and the workers are super nice and helpful so glad too see Elko growing. read more
