First time at Maverick Dance Hall! There's a $10 cover, and the place has two floors. The first floor is more focused on dancing, while the second is more relaxed, with a bar and plenty of space to sit and watch. Both floors have bathrooms, which is convenient. We also really liked the staff and security, they were friendly, kind, and did a great job keeping the place organized and under control. Absolutely such a fun time! Mother wanted her birthday celebration here they let us come a hr early to set up and we bought cupcakes and balloons and decorations. We don't pay for our table they told us if someone wanted to buy the table we had to move but no one did. Older crowed at the beginning then after 10pm younger crowd comes in. It does get a bit crowded but it's still a nice place to give a dance a try. No food here so eat before. Drinks were pricey but good. They don't have martinis here read more

If you're looking for a great country dancing spot in North DFW, Mavericks Dance Hall in The Colony has quickly become one of the best places to go for two-step, west coast swing, and line dancing. The dance floor is huge, the sound system is great, and the crowd is a fun mix of experienced dancers and people just coming out to have a good time! What I really appreciate is how welcoming the vibe feels. You'll see everything from two-steppers and west coast swing dancers to people just learning their first line dance. It's not intimidating like some dance halls can be, and when the place fills up the energy on the dance floor is fantastic. The staff has been great every time I've been there. The bartenders are quick and friendly, the door and security staff are helpful and polite, and you can tell the whole team is genuinely having fun working there. Management also deserves credit for how quickly they addressed concerns during opening week -- for example the A/C issue on opening night was fixed quickly, the dance floor refinished, and they've already added more seating along both sides of the dance floor which is really nice! They're also continuing to expand the experience with a speakeasy and outdoor patio expected to open soon, which should help with the Saturday night crowds. Speaking of Saturdays, the place has gotten so popular that lines can get long outside. If you want to avoid the wait, it's best to arrive before 9pm or come later after about 10:30pm. My friends and I have been going regularly since Mavericks opened, and as people who spend a lot of time around the DFW country dance scene, we've all noticed that every weekend seems to get better as the place finds its rhythm. I went to the new Mavericks Country Dance Hall last night and let me just say... immaculate. From the moment I walked in, the entire place looked incredible. The layout, the lighting, the dance floor -- everything was done right. The vibe was electric but still welcoming. It had that perfect mix of upscale and fun where you can actually let loose and enjoy yourself. The music..The lights..The crowd...A whole mood! And the drinks were outstanding. Crafted perfectly and served fast. My favorite bartender, Joel, was spot on all night...attentive, friendly, and clearly knows what he's doing behind the bar. It's rare to find a place where everything just flows, but Mavericks nailed it. If you're looking for great music, great drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere, this is it. Such a great place! New dance hall in DFW, and one of the best! The set up was great, bars in every corner, an upstairs (also with a bar), plenty of phot ops, bathrooms easy to find/get to, and the dance floor was a good size! Even with it being busy (opening night), there was space to move with ease and plenty of places to move out of the way, off to the side or upstairs to get a break from the crowd! Bartenders and staff were great, they had security all around which was nice to see, and everyone was happy to be there! A good mix of two stepping songs, line dances, and even some pop songs. Not just country! The music was also clean. All good fun! Everyone seemed to be enjoying their time and it was a very friendly crowd. read more

We went to opening night! The crowd dancing was amazing and it was fun to watch them from the 2nd story. The giant Titos bottle chandelier around the disco ball was sick. The floor obviously felt small if you're used to Cowboys Red River (ik an unfair comparison) but this one is much closer to home. It will probably be more comfortable on a less busy night than opening, and once the patio opens. Cover was $10 each. It was $8 for a vodka sprite and $7 for a dos. There IS a coat check. The women's bathroom was large and very nice, but according to my husband the men's was already a mess. There's a giant ai generated "sexy cowgirl" on the side of the building. She has buttons on both sides of her shirt, a belt that doesn't structurally make sense, and looks creepily airbrushed. Why not just pay a model- or better yet- attention to detail? That kind of set the tone for me of the bar. The business itself felt corporate and unauthentic after I noticed that. You can tell it's a chain, covered in neon signs quoting pop country tiktok songs that came out in the last year. I'm sure we'll be back a million times, and hopefully as it becomes lived in, it develops more heart. read more

Yeeeeee-haw ladies!!!! A fun and fabulous country dance hall with friendly staff, easy parking and warm folks. Girls night out and we had ten of us, took lessons on the floor mid way through so if your new head on down, you'll have a great time!!! Near all the restaurants too so dinner first then dancing!!! Let me tell you, this staff is the best in the world. Not only did I have an amazing time dancing, but as I was leaving, my phone died and it was right about the time I ordered an uber. The bouncers kept an eye on me and 2 of the staff members (an incredible brother and sister) ended up giving me a ride home. Truly the most wonderful people I have ever met and blew me away that there are people out there like that. Do not skip this place and tip big, because these are amazing human beings. read more

I had an absolute incredible time here with my friends, however I do think there can be some improvements to the overall experience of this place! As someone who frequents dance halls specifically to line dance, the dance floor is an absolute mess. Partner dancers bumping into Line dancers, drinks on the floor, no clear separation for partner dancers to move freely during line dance songs and no clear direction in which dances are suppose to start. I did enjoy the music however at times it felt more like a club than a dance hall since there wasn't a healthy mix on partner songs and line dance songs as well as an overwhelming amount of freestyle songs. The confetti cannons and confetti on the floor the whole night made it near impossible to line dance comfortably without feeling like I was going to slip and get hurt. We did see a few people with various drugs on them and it made us not interested in drinking for fear of our drinks possibly getting spiked. We did also see several people carrying knives on them as well. I think that all could be avoided with simple pat downs, wands and bag checks. I do think having a DJ who prioritizes the people who want to dance would minimize the chaos of people moving back and forth from one side to the other. It felt as if capacity was hit and surpassed without care for patron safety or comfort and we were sardines trying to wiggle our way through the crowd just to get to the bathroom or an exit. There was also no visual distinction on who was a staff member or just someone in a pearl snap and cowboy hat. Thankfully we noticed someone wearing a headset and was able to ask them our questions. Overall still had a fun time but would have been willing to stay longer if it felt a little less club like and a little more honky tonk. read more
