I've really been wanting to like this place since it checks all the boxes of being a local biz and using eco friendly packaging....but it feels like most of the dishes are seasoned unnecessarily with sugar, garilc, and chilis powder making it hard to order things that won't lead to a stomach ache! We would order more frequently but we have found that many of their entrees contain sweet potatoes and we are allergic to those. (There is also a lot of kale and vinegar) Their nutella cookies are amazing and when they do the meat lasagna, that is a big win!!! The polenta and mushrooms is also yummy. There's always enough veg options for me to build 1-1.5 weeks' worth of lunches and dinners for well under $100. Maven Meals has delicious meals that delivered to our door each week. In the COVID lockdown this has been a lifesaver for two older people with a need to stay safely at home. We used Maven prior to the pandemic but have come to appreciate the full range of meals, tastes, pantry items (nut butters, jams, bagels, spreads, etc...) that get delivered once a week. Most meals just need to be reheated, but some portions of some meals (like fresh pasta) need to be cooked. Maven Meals provided perfect portion sizes for a delectable Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't do turkey this year as we didn't want all of the leftovers, but I loaded up on sides and my goodness they were so amazing! Service is reliable but the food options are frequently spicy which makes it hard on families to share these meals. I have to carefully check ingredients because the meals frequently have ingredients like cayenne pepper and chile powder. Even things like mac and cheese have these non kid friendly ingredients. Maven Meals has delicious food. We'd been ordering off and on for a while but regularly 2-3 meals per week for the past 2 months. All of the food is fresh and delicious. You can see a list of the ingredients before ordering and/or select your dietary restrictions. The portions are very large. Usually enough for an extra person (but not a teen boy or my uncle the runner) but so delicious we usually just eat it all. :-) The prices are much lower than dining out and the instructions for warming up the food are simple and easy to understand. These are great meals. However, if you are needing to watch your salt intake, the staff at Maven will no longer estimate the salt in their recipes. I only asked for a few of the meals to be evaluated re salt, and only asked for estimates, but their staff have decided that doing that is a "slippery slope". So if you are needing to know if your meals from Maven are low salt, they will not tell you that information anymore. They are saying they will look into getting a complete analysis of their food, but don't have any plans for doing that at this time. read more

I ordered two servings and specifically asked for it to be packaged in singles so I could take to work and it came in one great big container. I have found this place to be hit and miss. It's like they put in herbs and salt but don't mix it up enough so the foods do not have even seasonings throughout. I will be back because sometimes it is super good. The chicken and sweet potato salad use to be super good now it is very bland. It's not on my list to buy any longer. Actually, the hubs and I love to cook and enjoy preparing simple delicious meals at home. But, our schedules don't always work out so that we can prep. Also, having little ones means that you eat mac & cheese a lot when your 4 year old is a very picky eater! Ordering Maven Meals once a month, has worked out well. You go online, select off the menu and your items are dropped off in a containers and a cooler. I haven't figured out the portions yet, but the meals tend to satisfy. Sometimes, I do feel like I could have a bite or two more, but then again it was probably just enough. Previously a Munchery customer, had hundreds of meals from them. Maven meals food quality is fantastic. Fresh, healthy flavors. Minimal preparation. If any is needed, it takes a few minutes. For example, I had a seafood curry soup recently. Two containers arrived; one with the soup, the other with raw seafood. Instructions to simmer the seafood on the stove for 5 minutes. Super simple, and the proper way to serve it as it ensures the protein is not over cooked. I like that approach to quality. I also like that if any preparation is needed, it only takes a few minutes and involves heating on the stove or oven in only one step. My only complaint is I can get delivery only once per week. With Munchery, it was 5 days a week. I can't really order enough to last me 7 days at a stretch, so Maven Meals cannot take care of all my meals at home. read more

They definitely were sitting around, salmon was bad and stunk the whole house (the food did not sit at my door). And pork was off. We avoided the bad dishes to prevent from getting food poisoning.
