Ecoview Windows & Doors of Raleigh-Durham

The owner, Carl Cuttone, met with us personally and he was pleasant, knowledgeable, and refreshingly low-pressure--there were no upselling or hard-sell tactics at all. He took the time to show us photographs of his company's prior work and shared reviews from previous customers, which made us feel confident and comfortable in our decision. Meeting with him was genuinely enjoyable and set the tone for the entire project. Their quoted price was significantly lower than their competitors' quotes, which was quite surprising and they were the only company that was interested in cladding our front door surround, rather than trying to "hard sell" us a new front door insert, as the wood around the side light windows was deteriorating. The front door is made of solid mahogany, was in great condition, and it was important to us to preserve the door if possible. The window installation on our home was completed with great care and attention to detail, and the results look fantastic. The front door cladding looks amazing, like a brand new insert would have looked. The installers were professional, courteous, and clearly took pride in their work. They arrived on time, worked extremely well and efficiently as a team, and--something we really appreciated--left our home clean and tidy when they were finished. No mess, no hassle, just beautiful new windows. The final price was exactly the price they quoted, and there were no shenanigans. We highly recommend Eco-View Windows to anyone looking for quality products and a smooth, professional installation experience.

There is a large bay window in the living room, and it really needed some love so we decided to replace this one. I called Ecoview and spoke to Carl, the owner. We went back and forth for about a week as he offered a variety of options and price points. In fairness, the week was because we had some trouble making up our minds because there were so many great options. Carl helped us narrow things down, and we opted for what's called the 7000 series. The windows were delivered to our sons house in two weeks. We were happily surprised with this because even though Carl had promised us two weeks, everyone else told us their delivery would be between 6 to 8 weeks. The day after the windows were delivered, the installers were there (4 people). They had the old window out, and the new windows were in in just a FEW HOURS!!! AMAZING!! In the world of construction and services, it's so rare to get a true professional, but we sure found one with Carl! 10000% recommend...

If you only call one company, do yourself a favor and make sure its City Mirror and Glass. (not to be confused with City Glass and Mirror) Granted, City Mirror and Glass may not have the biggest showroom in the area but their service is top notch. I tend to be OCD when I'm considering making a purchase of considerable expense so I actually spent several weeks visiting all the top rated companies and showrooms in the greater Raleigh area interviewing employees and requesting quotes. Prior to my recent retirement I spent several decades working in every conceivable arena of home renovation market so I had the advantage of being familiar with county inspections, warranties, construction permits, state and county codes etc., I already knew what factors and options should be considered when buying shower glass, from the different types of glass, to the various water spot prevention systems being offered. I had each company come to my house, take measurements, explain what they could or could not provide and submit a formal estimate. Each company was given the same requirements as to what I wanted from the hardware finish to the desired height of the glass. I also maintained a detailed spreadsheet during my research so I could perform an apples to apples comparison between companies, their offering, prices and what they could or could not provide per my initial request. Fact, several of them bent the truth when explaining why their products or services were better than what other companies offered. Two of the companies interviewed said, due to the custom construction and layout of our shower "no shower glass company" could install glass the way I wanted." Four of them said they could provide "most" of what I wanted but the custom elements would be at an additional expense. Ramone at City Mirror and Glass was the only company that said they could provide all elements of my shower design without ever implying there was anything unusual about the layout Even more surprising, the price estimate I received from City Mirror and Glass was easily one of the better estimates I received and a bargain considering I got everything exactly the way I wanted. We have a custom designed Neo angle shower and were forewarned by "other vendors" to understand that Neo angle showers tend to leak around the door. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. Mike and Ce'sar (sp) like all the other employees as City Mirror and Glass were professionals. They took great care and time making infinite adjustments to all the panels and door clearances. We've now taken well over a dozen showers and are happy to report not a single drop of water has escaped our glass enclosure. Operating with honesty and integrity my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the service provided by City Mirror and Glass. Highly recommend.

He had to change to 12:15PM the day before, so I agreed. Once here, he put together everything, but I was a bit worried with him carrying heavy parts of the furniture down the steps because he is a bit older and doesn't seem to be in the best shape. I didn't want him to fall going down the steps. He put everything together and it all looked good. He quickly left after I payed.

I will say that he did go above and beyond to help me find the right hinges for a fair price, and he seemed like such a nice guy! He came back a few weeks later with his caulking man (George) and also to fix some uneven cabinet doors from when he installed the soft close hinges. We went through the house and I showed him and George the areas I wanted to be re-caulked: around the kitchen counters, a powder room sink, upstairs tub and bathroom, and laundry room sink. Surprisingly, they were done in less than 90 minutes! I was outside when they finished and were getting ready to leave. Probably my mistake, but I trusted that he did a good job since he talked up George's caulking work so much. I should have gone in and taken a look myself. He didn't ask me to take a look at the work before leaving (a habit that good contractors should have, in my opinion). When I took a closer look after they left, I was very disappointed. The caulking in the kitchen was messy looking-lumpy and edges were not smooth. There were areas that had dirt stuck in the caulking and there was caulk on my tile and cabinets. Then I noticed that he overlooked the powder room. I texted him and told him so and also commented on how the caulking job was not very neat. He replied that he didn't know about the powder room, that it "wasn't on his list". We then talked on the phone, and he was incredibly defensive and insisted that I didn't ask him to caulk the powder room. Ridiculous since George had gone in there with me and even pulled some of the old caulking off and left it on the sink! He just never went back to finish the job. Earl insisted that it wasn't on his "list", but his "list" is only in his mind. He doesn't write anything down! Anyways, he defended George, saying that his work was "perfect". I was taken aback by his defensiveness and unwillingness to admit any wrongdoing. He spoke in an annoyed and rude tone to me. If a customer is unhappy with your work then you apologize and try to see what you can do to fix it. You don't get defensive and rude and basically make him/her feel like they are wrong to complain. Sheesh. I'm very sorry it turned out this way, but I'm back to looking for a new handyman.

All these concerns and more. I'm a detail oriented guy that can find fault with just about everything, I know, not healthy. BUT, let me tell you while giving major praise and satisfaction thanks to Todd, the owner of Windows, Doors & More. His crew showed up 30 minutes prior to start time every day! I say "crew" BUT, these guys were true Craftsman and I mean Craftsman. The Team, Steve, Jacob, Ian, and Bill worked together like a fine tuned machine. A look and a nod in the place of words. WOW. Their personalities made it actually nice to have them around and working on my home. If you have a question, they stop what their doing, follow you, and listen intently with a true response. They even took extra care to help me and be certain my wood blinds would fit the new windows. Extra trim required, Not a problem. I look at these windows and completed installation with pleasing amazement. I'm not kidding, everything looks and operates beautifully. For a guy that's hard to please, I couldn't be happier. Also, their pricing is more than competitive and their products are top rated when you do the investigation. I addition, the painted commented that the woodwork was done and nailed the way it's supposed to be done unlike other work he has seen. Hats off to Todd and his team. Even now I look at these windows and smile in satisfaction. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I highly recommend Todd's company. Their price was very competitive, not even close to the most expensive, but certainly not the cheapest. Buy once, cry once. One of the window companies he represents was the only one we found (we looked at many) that offered colored vinyl extrusions where we could have white on the inside and a tan color outside (never needs to be painted, even if surface is scratched). Lifetime warranty too! We recently hired him and his team for more work, replacing the screens with windows on our screened porch (no more cleaning up pine pollen). We had them add a custom bar top along the window sills. It looks great and is a wonderful way to enjoy the view of our back yard, even if it is raining or in the winter. Call him, you will be happy you did.
