I was disappointed with my experience with Mariana at the front desk. She initially told me she was ready to take me in, so I stood nearby and waited. While I was waiting, something seemed to come up and she was speaking quietly with another coworker. I completely understand that unexpected things can happen. After waiting for a while, I finally asked her for an update. Her response felt impatient, and she told me she couldn't take me in because the doctor was still with another patient. I had no problem waiting, but I would have appreciated being told that rather than being left standing there expecting to be taken in. What bothered me more was that once a room became available, she called another person in ahead of me, even though that person was still completing their paperwork while I had already finished mine. For me, the bigger issue is professionalism. Front desk staff are often the first point of contact with patients, and I expect patients to be treated with courtesy, consistency, and professionalism regardless of personal feelings or preferences. Staff should not use the small amount of discretion they have--such as deciding who is called in first--in a way that makes a patient feel singled out or dismissed. Unfortunately, after waiting for so long without a clear update, and then seeing another patient taken in ahead of me, I could no longer continue waiting and had to leave without being seen. That is what made this experience particularly disappointing. Woodglen has a new(ish) addition to the staff, an esthetician named Nicky (hope I spelled that…read morecorrectly) who gave me a Vi Peel 3 weeks ago.  It was my first professional peel in over a decade and recalling how well the Vi Peel worked for me back then I decided to do it again.  Woodglen always hires great ladies and I've loyally gone to RN's Sally and Melanie for botox, laser and lips for a long, long time (see earlier review)..  I'm happy to say that I now also plan to be a loyal client of Nicky's.  First, she has a cutting edge style not always encountered in a medical office, with one side of her head shaved and a few tattoos, and as someone who is fully sleeved myself I appreciate that.  Her skill, personality and love of skin care all make her a shoe-in for this line of work but on top of that this girl is just plain fun to be around. I really enjoyed her company while she did my peel and recommend that if you are searching for an esthetician in this area you go to her.    The peel itself turned out great and I will be returning for the second in a series of 3 in a few weeks.  Not that Im not always at Woodglen. I attempted to explain that I had been caught in heavy traffic due to two accidents, but her only response was that room 1 was ready for me. I have been a loyal customer for nearly three months, visiting twice a week, and it has always been customary for someone to escort me to the treatment room. However, Ana did not take the time to do so. After waiting for a few minutes for her to come to the room, I decided to look for the bell and prepare myself for the treatment. Ultimately, I only received one treatment, and when it concluded, I brought up the two appointment messages I had received for 3:30 and 4:00 PM. To my surprise, she refused to check my phone and insisted that I was late, claiming that she was doing me a favor by accommodating me, despite the fact that I had arrived way before 4 PM. I mentioned that I had previously waited for a room, but this time, they would not extend the same courtesy, and she maintained that it was their policy. Frustrated she insisted there were been nice to me and thinking after spending a significant amount of money to be treated this way, I raised my voice, which seemed to provoke her further. I then attempted to speak with another staff member, but Ana interrupted and instructed her not to engage with me. Eventually, the other girl, who remained calm throughout the situation, mentioned that they were doing me a favor by scheduling another session to compensate for the missed treatment and continued given excuses for Ana's lack of professionalism. In the past, I have left positive reviews for this place, but I feel compelled to point out that they frequently run out of disposable bras and the cream intended for abdominal treatments. Additionally, Ana did not prepare the green juice I had specifically requested. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was informed that there was no one available on-site. I later learned that her name is Honey. Given that I have paid up front a substantial amount of money, always arrived on time, and treated the staff with respect, I had anticipated receiving outstanding service during my visit.

It took me being unusually persistent and more forceful than I'm comfortable with just to get a response from the office, pharmacy, and insurance. That shouldn't be necessary for a patient trying to manage their healthcare. More importantly, this situation caused me a great deal of stress and anxiety and has negatively impacted my health. I already deal with high blood pressure, and this experience elevated it further, which is both troubling and unacceptable when seeking medical care. At this time, I'm giving a 3-star rating in recognition of the effort Dr. Tomasian made to personally address the situation. I may update this after future visits.
