Somewhat disappointed in this place. The store has lost all its integrity. Made in China? Made in India? A lot of non-Maus and Hoffman clothing, Bollick and Jones?  I was invited to the store's big "spring sale". Was under the impression they would have sale prices on some of their current catalogue items. I had never been before and figured I'd give it a try. Turns out this was simply a clearance sale of older merchandise (some items/styles looked to be years old). Not much at all in common sizes. Evidently, this same merchandise had previously circulated through the Palm Beach store's spring sale, so basically leftovers of the leftovers. I told the salesman, first time/last time. Pretty much a complete waste of time. Shameful!!! On my previous visit to the store back in the early spring, I went there because I was in a bind for a pair of black slacks. Had an event to go to the following day and somehow was lacking black pants, must have left all I have up north. Explained to the salesman I had everything I needed but was short the black pants. He was very pleasant, showed me the different styles, materials as well as prices. As I was trying to figure out which pants I wanted, this other salesperson came over and started showing me jackets, shirts, and shoes. I told him I didn't need anything else, but he kept pressing me. He insisted I put on the store shoes while I tried on the black pants.  Finally, I had to snap at the creepy guy before he eventually disappeared. Ridiculous!!! Recently, I arrived early down in Las Olas for a lunch event and thought I would run in the store and see what new items they had. I walked in the place, it literally smelled like Taco Bell and it was warm, like 85 degrees in the store. I walked in stayed for about 30 seconds and walked out. Speechless!!! read more

Bought a jacket and 2 pants here. They are very helpful with suggesting styles. Their alterations were speedy, as promised. We had a little pricing situation but they took care of it right away. Small women's section as well. Good options for men. read more

Maus & Hoffman - Sports Wear Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

An American built business with a European influence. The immediate vibrant colors of the ties and the polos captured my eye as soon as I entered. Large selection of dress belts, loafers and noteably the Paul & Shark Italian polo shirts which are internationally well-made at a $300.00 price point. I quickly realized that the finer things in life could break the bank. The staff greeted me wearing a paper measuring tape drapped over his neck at which time I knew he meant business. He informed me that they offer FREE tailoring with clothing purchases. read more

I came to know of Maus & Hoffman by receiving their catalog in the mail. Prior to my husband's birthday AND Christmas I saw items that I thought would be very special to serve as gifts. I purchased a leisure suit meant as his birthday gift. Made of velour and trimmed with white piping, the suit was luxurious but very pricey at $300 for a "leisure" outfit. At the same time I ordered the leisure suit I ordered a beautiful baby blue herringbone jacket made primarily of silk. Upon receiving it I was extremely surprised to see that the jacket was not lined with any fabric. I felt that at $2500 it shouldn't have been made without proper lining. The Italian dress shirts I selected were very unique and beautiful prints. Luckily none of the garments required altering except for the hems of the gabardine slacks I selected. All in all I was very happy with my purchases but I wouldn't shop with this company except for special occasions. read more

My husband and I visited this store twice while vacationing in the area--once in December and again last week. The clothing is of excellent quality, and the selection of menswear was impressive. However, the atmosphere of the store changed noticeably between visits. During our first visit, we were assisted by a knowledgeable and attentive sales associate, I believe her name was Barbara, who took the time to understand our needs and offered thoughtful and appropriate suggestions. She was professional, well spoken, and clearly experienced with high-end apparel, making the experience very enjoyable. Unfortunately, our second visit was quite different. Upon entering the store, several employees stood up, set their phones down and rushed to assist us, with one associate in particular appearing overly pushy bordering on aggressive and he actually "shooed" the others away. I believe his name was Ray or Reye. He did not listen to our preferences and repeatedly directed us toward items that did not align with our preferences, which made the interaction uncomfortable to say the least. My husband and I sensed that he was simply new and trying to make his quota or commission and was not interested in actually assisting us. As a result, we chose to leave the store without making a purchase. While we remain impressed by the merchandise and intend to return on a future visit to Fort Lauderdale, we hope the level of service will better reflect the quality and sophistication of the products offered by having experienced sales associates who know and understand high-end products. read more

Normally, I'm not one to complain, but this store is not the same place it used to be for pleasant casual shopping. My husband and I have been to the Palm Beach and Las Olas stores and made purchases in the past. Last week we went into the Las Olas store, and the atmosphere had changed for the worse. A saleswoman started working with us on a pair of shoes my husband had inquired about. As the woman assisted us, another salesperson began showing us other different shoes and clothing items we had not asked about. He was being very pushy, seemed almost desperate to sell us anything. It was uncomfortable, almost felt like we were at the Straw Market in Nassau. I could sense my husband was getting upset, so I grabbed him, and we left quickly without purchasing a thing. Probably best to try the Palm Beach store. read more

The availability of fine clothing is superb. They provide exquisite clothing selections that are stylish and comfortable. The customer service is phenomenal. Miguel and John are very friendly, knowledgeable and customer service oriented. If they don't have an item they will find it and deliver it with a smile. read more

When it comes to top line quality men's and women's fashion, Maus & Hoffman is the place. I've long been one of their customers, have always enjoyed their customer catalogues that keep me touch with the latest of fashion trends, but more particularly their willingness to assist in selections along with their good attention to detail. Many of their items are not only made just for them but also custom designed by them. They have the most knowledgeable and competent staff of any fashion store in the area, so you don't need to worry about dropping big bucks then walking out only to end up looking like something left over from last month's blue light special from Walmart. As an aside, I stopped by Maus & Hoffman the other day to purchase a shirt. When I got it home, to my surprise I noted that on one the inside label it said "Made in USA!" Like really? I don't think I've seen a top of the line garment with a Made in USA label within the past couple of decades. read more

I've been a customer of this store for several years and have always liked their clothing although it is somewhat high-end. I used to visit the store more often and worked with a salesman named Ken, who was a great guy, but believe he is retired now. Admittedly, I don't shop there as much as I used to, but will go every now and then to treat myself to something nice. My last visit was in mid-December 2021 and turned out to be a very disappointing and disturbing one. I went to the store and was immediately met by a nice gentleman. He was very polite, told me his name and asked if he could help me find anything. As we were talking about my past experiences with the store and the items I was interested in looking at, a saleswoman approached us and said something to me like "I think I know you" and then said "yes you've been here before and I helped you with some things". I wasn't sure what the woman was getting at, but I could not recall ever purchasing anything from her in the past. I've always worked with salesmen at the store. I told her I could not recall meeting before, but she insisted that she knew me and had helped me out in the past. At one point she was shaking her finger at me (like a mother scolds a child) saying "I'm sure I know you from this store in the past". I was becoming uncomfortable, and I sensed the salesman was too. Finally, I said to the woman, "sorry but I'm just here to look at some jackets and shirts", to which she replied "I'd be glad to show you those things, we've always worked well in the past". I replied saying "no, I'm fine working with this gentleman here". Honestly, it was very strange. I felt like this woman was pressuring me to work with her instead of the original salesman who greeted me on my way in. I was so uncomfortable being in the store with her at this point, I could not concentrate on anything the salesman was showing me. I asked if there was a manager present but was told "no". I felt like running out of the store like my hair was on fire. Finally, I just told the salesman I wasn't feeling well and I would come back another time. Who behaves like this in a high-end retail store? Anyway, I haven't been back to the store and not sure I will return. My wife has suggested I call the manager and talk to them about it, but I'll just leave it at this. read more

Great Clothes! no cookie cutter clothes here. if you wear it you will be the only with it on, because these clothes are so distinctive! I always hear comments when I wear something from Maus i.e. " I like that shirt, shoe or sweater where did you get it?" Bring your wallet however, some times the clothes go on sale but then the sizes are limited. read more

This store has very nice clothing, and it appears that the customers who are able to shop there in person are quite positive. I have only dealt with them through their very attractive catalogs and on the internet. My recent experience was extremely negative, and I see that others have had similar problems. On January 16th, I ordered a relatively expensive blazer to give my wife for Valentine's Day and received an immediate confirmation. On January 20th, I received an email from their "customer service" stating that they could not locate the blazer in their warehouse and cancelling my order. There was no attempt to see if they could help me further with this. On January 23rd, I went back to the internet and ordered the same blazer in a different size and received a confirmation right away. A few days later the blazer arrived. Then for some strange reason, on February 1st they sent me another one and again charged my credit card a second time. Both charges to the credit card were on January 23rd. I brought this to their attention and was very surprised by their nonsensical response. They said that I had ordered two blazers regardless of what the order confirmation indicated. They refused to reverse the charge to my credit card until they received the second blazer back. After receiving the blazer, they sent a credit to Amex, but did not include the shipping charges. I contacted them yet again and finally received this. Needless to say, I will not order from them again despite their very nice products. Perhaps they have outsourced their "customer service" to North Korea, and they obviously hate their internet customers. read more

You know what you are getting yourself into here. The term, "you get what you pay for" applies for sure. Although items are priced at a premium, you are getting the best money can buy. Do yourself a favor and and stop in. The owners are the best part, very welcoming and always available to lend a helping hand. A Las Olas staple for sure. read more

I went in with my fiance to specifically look for a Brioni tuxedo and accessories for our wedding. It took quite awhile for anyone to greet us, and then when he did, he was rude. Perhaps the fact that we are young (late twenties and early thirties) he didn't take us seriously, but he should have. I have never been treated with such disrespect or met a salesperson with such a condescending attitude. In addition to his awful attitude, he was factually wrong in a tuxedo question. The service was horrible, the shop smelled of mothballs, and the sales clerks didn't lift a finger unless the customer asked. I am a Fort Lauderdale native and my family has shopped here for years- however, we never will again. In all honesty, I hope the store goes out of business to prevent others from having such a horrible experience. read more

Bought 4 items on the Internet and within 24 hours I was called and said 2 pocket squares were unavailable and offered no options for corrective action. I purchased a $ 125.00 belt that was well wrapped and protected when shipped to me. When received it was damaged and due the the significant amount of wrapping I could only assume it was shipped like that. After calling customer service it was determined that it was their last belt so I can only assume that the damage was known and possibly returned before by other customers that they shipped it to. But that is only a guess on my part and have no proof, it is just a belief. I would be very concerned about purchasing from them in the future. read more
