Needless to say, there was also a sale going on. We found several neutral options in slacks, sweaters and blouses. Some of the styles were a little matronly for my relative, but overall, we got almost all of the items we needed. Happily, we were able to purchase several items of clothing, as we needed this for an upcoming business trip and there was no time to shop online and have it delivered in time.

So, of course anything "new" that opens in that area is a really BIG DEAL, and while my sister was in town we went to check the new Kohl's out. It was your typical Kohl's. Not much else to elaborate on. The aisles were clean and well-organized, but I'm guessing that has more to do with the lack of foot traffic more than anything. When we went, we were literally the only customers in this store, with the cashiers just standing around and gossiping. The worst part of our experience was the teenage cashier. While ringing us up, she started hounding me about the Kohl's charge card, and why it would be a great idea for me to get one. She was doing the familiar old sales pitch you get at every Kohl's. I told her I used to work at Corporate, and I didn't need to get their charge card since I know how that works. Her attitude changed after that - she went from OK to having a surly demeanor. Seriously Kohl's, listen to your customers. Odds are, if they are anything like me, they hate getting a hounding sales pitch - especially at the check out, when all they want to do is get out the door.

The tough part is each style and even color fit so differently in the same size. I know this happens from brand to brand but it was really frustrating that I couldn't trust the same style in different colors to both fit the same. The deals were decent but at least the particular visit I had wasn't the best for me.

That seems weird that my cooking store was now selling jeans. Like life everything changes including stores going out of business and new stores opening. So goodbye to the old and hello to the new Levi's Outlet Store. I decided to check it out because who doesn't like jeans half off. Take that any way you want! As I walked around the store I realized the sale was really good. I met Marcus and he was really cool. It is not often you meet a sales person that is just laid back and fun. I had a bunch of jeans in my hands but he steered me to another rack of 50% off jeans. I ended up putting back what I had in my hands and grabbed two pairs off the new rack. I went and tried them on and was happy with the fit, so I decided to buy them. The deal was great at $22.50 for a brand new pair of jeans. I had noticed these same pair of jeans at another store in Chicago for $48 a pair. Score! It was like getting two pairs for the price of one and saving on sales tax too. So I have a new favorite store at the Outlet Mall. Luckily there's a couple of other cooking stores on the other side of the mall to satisfy my shopping needs. I typically am always buying running shoes at the Nike Outlet, so I will probably become a regular at the Levi's store, because of its location, for years to come.

My sport jackets are from Salvation Army, Calvin Klein, Polo but the majority are from, you guessed it - Banana Republic. And at this location - you can catch a good sale and get one for under 50 or 40 bucks - hard to believe, I know. I also skip the front section and go straight to the sale area to see if there's anything 75 percent off, and there's often a lot of stuff to choose from. The store is very well organized and you're greeted as you enter. Note: At some outlet stores in general, you won't get greeted, perhaps they assume that you can't speak English, but that won't happen here - which is good. The fitting rooms are clean and neat and it's well organized. This is one awesome location.

I went to the pickup area where the cashier's are but no one was there. I waited for approximately 5 minutes but no one arrived. Finally someone came and she apologized and was very friendly. She checked my items and handed it over. I was able to get crew next tshirt for $8.00 piece. The shirts were normally $19.99. The quality is nice.

It's really not much different…read moreprice wise than the regular mall Eddie Bauer so I'm not convinced that shopping here is worth the trip. One big bonus is that the outlet tends to carry long or tall sizes, so it's easier to find things for the Mister. Otherwise, a lot of the stuff is made specifically for the outlet and is lower in quality than regular stores so choose carefully. Everyone who works here seems to be super nice, so that's a plus. If you need sweaters, puffer jackets or woodsy apparel, they've got it here.
