It was a tough thing to accept because this area is rooted in tradition and nostalgia. I just was thinking "this must be the end". I wanted to visit Heislers because I found out they had beautiful sunflowers. I was so eager to see the fields of flowers! Heislers has 6 beautiful acres!!! For this reason guests may take 3 complimentary blooms. When I asked the attendant there he said we could take as much as we want. All complimentary but if you wish to have a Heislers vase that will cost you 14$. I'm absolutely thrilled with the new changes so far! I sure hope they will stay open much longer than Labor Day too. We shall see. Heislers has put a cute soft pretzel building in, in place of the ancient pizza place that used to have some weird assorted junk for sale in the past. I heard the new owners had soft pretzel business experience. I did not try them but I will. I would love to see a sesame seed option, please. I got strawberry cheesecake ice cream and my husband chose salted caramel which he reported was delicious! I didn't order any hot food nor did I look at the hot food menu- but I will in the future. Also- I was thrilled to see sought after merchandise in the small room that houses the ice-cream freezer. I am very happy to say I finally got my shirt!! Thank you for not making it white!! I can never keep a white shirt white!! I look forward to making memories here at this traditional business which the new owners are elevating and adding beauty and elegance! The sunflower sitting areas, the merchandise, mini golf, pretzels, live entertainment, beautiful lights, and lovely shelters are really bringing this business into 2026!

The "smash" burger was overdone- the fries, cold and flavorless. The milkshake still tastes the same but appears to be smaller and is topped with whipped cream, was not given a choice on that addition. It's still a beautiful setting and they have made a successful effort to refresh the property. Sadly, I am afraid the high prices will discourage most people, I can't imagine what the bill would be if you brought the whole family! I would suggest going back to the simpler menu (and crinkle cut fries) that kept Heisler's so successful in the past. This used to be a regular summer stop for us, unfortunately it won't be at these prices.

As a business owner myself, I take pride in how clients and customers are treated, and I can confidently say I would never speak to or handle any customer the way we and others were treated! We arrived around 7:30 PM to get some ice cream. From the moment we walked up to the window, the tone was hostile. My 12-year-old son was trying to place his order and asked me a quick question when the man behind the window rudely said "hurry up I don't got all day" even though there was no one else in line. That level of disrespect toward a child is unacceptable. Throughout the visit, the attitude from the owner remained rude, dismissive, and honestly came off as racially charged. As my children finished their ice cream and threw their napkins in the trash, the man yelled out hey for no clear reason. When a Black male politely asked if there was an issue, the owner said nothing but pulled in the tip jar, only to put it back out for white customers shortly after. It's very sad to witness such obvious bias and hostility in a place meant to serve families. Speaking to children like that and displaying that kind of behavior is disturbing. We were not the only ones who noticed it, other families looked just as uncomfortable. I truly hope this business reflects on how today was handled and takes accountability. Until then, we won't be returning and I would advise others to be cautious about where they choose to spend their money!
