Dr. Valley is a thorough orthodontist and runs a very tidy and organized business. She sees my kids and has done a good job with them. I find communicating with her to be an odd experience most of the time though... There are an unusual amount of awkward pauses and a tone that seems to imply I might not understand the basic information I'm being given. I always feel as if I'm having a conversation with a robot that has been programmed to speak to children. I haven't decided whether to chalk it up to personality quirks, which intelligent people often have, or if she's maybe judging my intelligence on my appearance. I may not fit the mold of mundane suburban existence, but I do hold an advanced degree in a field of life science, not that one needs to in order to understand a basic update regarding their kid's braces. Anyway, the rest of the office staff are very easy to communicate with and highly organized. All in all I would recommend them. read more

Dr. Valley has been my family's orthodontist for years now, and we don't have a single complaint! My father, two siblings and I have gotten our braces / invisalign with her. Dr. Valley is incredible--she always knows exactly what she is doing and is fantastic at explaining everything and addressing any concerns. She is very kind, patient and warm-hearted. She always makes an effort to accommodate our schedule (despite her extremely packed one), and always makes herself available for any questions over the phone (even in the evenings) or emergency appointments in case a bracket falls out, or a wire is hurting, etc. The entire staff at Valley Orthodontics is always professional, polite and on top of things.The office is super cozy, clean, and fully stocked with refreshments (water bottles, hot cocoa, etc.) I would DEFINITELY recommend going to Dr. Valley! =) read more

Where do I even begin?! After a very traumatic accident that rearranged a few of my front teeth, my orthodontic case was very challenging. I previously consulted with a few orthodontists, none of which seemed to have an answer to how to treat me, until I met with Dr Valley. She listened to every concern, thought, question, and idea that I had and thoroughly explained each and every possible route to restoring my beautiful smile. I approached this with caution as an adult about to go into braces again, but Dr Valley reassured me that even though I had one front tooth fused to the bone and in a very awkward position, that she would put her brain and networking connections to the test to deliver the best results possible. Dr Valley really put so much after-hours personal time into emailing, calling, and brainstorming with my photos and xrays with every other specialty dentist (root canals, crowns, and plastic surgeons) to deliver what she promised. Her unimaginable skill and knowledge of all aspects of dentistry combined with the ease at which she presented her action plan to me really put my nerves to rest. Her staff was wonderful, always explaining every step that was being taken and what I would expect. I really bonded with Dr Valley and her office, they sure did see enough of me! She never hesitated to come early or stay late to do a last minute appointment for my busy schedule. I can't truly express my gratitude and how extremely happy I am with my results...she always put so much thought and effort into my treatment, I know I wouldn't have gotten the same commitment anywhere else! read more

Dr. Valley and her staff at Valley Orthodontics are the best! I had previous orthodontic treatment at a different office, and did not have a pleasant experience or good results. Some of the people I worked with were very rude, and the treatment the doctor chose to use actually exacerbated rather than improved my problem. I came to expect that level of service wherever I went, but once I met Dr. Valley, I realized how much I had missed out on in my original treatment. The office is clean and inviting, the staff are always friendly, and there's even a complimentary drink bar. Once Dr. Valley heard about my prior experience, she insisted on taking off all the residual concrete and composite my previous orthodontist had left on my teeth as well as fabricating new, more comfortable retainers to replace the ill-fitting ones I had gotten before. The staff do everything they can to make you as comfortable as possible, and after my experience, I would recommend Valley Orthodontics to anyone hoping to get orthodontic treatment. read more

First, Dr. Valley - and her staff - worked with us and our insurance in every way possible. Second, Dr. Valley was available whenever necessary - day or night if we had an emergency - and she was very flexible with her appointments... seeing us before school, after school or anytime during the day when needed. Dr. Valley and her staff are true professionals. I am so glad that some friends recommended that we visit her for a consultation. My son feels cared for and not afraid to go in for check-ups. The reception area is welcoming and I like how it is focused on the patient (not on the parents/guardians waiting). Kids check themselves in and are asked questions directly and respectfully. Dr. Valley is clear about all of the options and lets kids know how much work they'll have to do to take care of their teeth. Anna at the front desk is always responsive and respectful as well. Dr. Valley is FABULOUS. We just relocated back to Marinwood recently. We were still in the process of getting settled when my son had a wire break on his braces. It was stuck in his gums and twisted around and unable to fix it. He was in severe pain. I was panicking BIG time....it was 10:45 at night.....and I had not even started researching orthodontists, much less knew who, if anyone, I could call this late to help me....and not even know me!! I would have to go to the ER if I could not find someone. I was frantically looking up emergency orthodontists and calling place after place that advertised on call doctors....with no answer, or no available number. My son was in tears by the tine I dialed Valley Orthodontics. I called Dr. Valley and she answered immediately. I gave only a brief explanation and she very sympathetically agreed to meet me....in 10 minutes! (she was there in 8) She was extremely pleasant and gracious, then calmly started reassuring my son as she got him in the chair to examine him. In under a minute she had him out of pain.....then replaced all his bands! She even offered him to choose new colors if he wanted. She was accommodating and when we were through, she just handed us a card to follow up if we wanted. (Never asked for payment of any kind) The whole experience was great and my son comments as we leave, "I wouldn't mind going to this orthodontist " a far cry from his previous dentist. Dr. Valley needless to say is our new family orthodontist. I will be recommending her regardless of her tight schedule. Her compassion and caring for children is obvious, as is her professionalism. Dr. Valley and the staff at Valley Orthodontics are amazing. Their atmosphere is beautiful, relaxing and kid friendly at the same time. Our son has gone through the braces process and is now in a retainer. His teeth and smile are gorgeous. Our daughter is in the final stages of her braces and her teeth are looking great. We look forward to our appointments as we are always warmly greeted and relax in the comfortable atmosphere. They go out of their way to find a mutually available time for our appointments. We have had a couple of needs for emergency visits and have been accommodated immediately- even once on a Sunday afternoon. From my daughter; "I get to wear cool sunglasses, choose the flavor of the gloves and band colors. They always make sure that I am comfortable, they ask if I have any questions and if everything with my braces is running smoothly." read more

I worked part time here for some work experience throughout 8-10th grade, and I was at first terrified of what the proper etiquette for working at an orthodontist would be. But the staff there are so caring and nice that I found myself being way more comfortable in just the first week. Every time I'd walk in, the staff at the front desk would say "hi chess!" and ask how I was doing and such. Whenever I had a question about how to do something the staff would take time to explain it to me thoughtfully and made sure I was confident in doing something before I did it. (Which was only really small tasks like making folders and re-supplying drawers) But no matter how small the task the staff were incredibly polite. The atmosphere of the office is very homey. There are comfortable couches and seats to wait in the lobby in. When working there I noticed that every client there is talked to with respect and kindness. You'll never have to worry about feeling uncomfortable or anxious about being in a new environment like I was at first. The lobby is very welcoming. Part of my job was to organize the toy section at the end of each day. There's these cool magnetic toys that every kid who comes in loves to play with, there's baskets of kids books and toys to keep the kids who come in occupied. And one of my favorite parts of the office are the raffles! They do frequent raffles where you answer a little fun multiple choice survey about something such as a healthy diet and fitness routine to your favorite parts of Halloween (during October). There's also free coffee! All in all Valley Orthodontics is always a welcoming and respectable place to get your orthodontic needs from. read more

Dr. Valley's recorded phone message says that she is flexible with evening and morning appointments. She also states, "We will work with you and your insurance coverage"....We chose to go forward with her office based upon the above. Despite the fact that we repeatedly told Dr. Valley's office that our insurance coverage was expiring, she failed to make ANY attempt to schedule an appointment before the insurance lapsed. You see, Dr. Valley works part-time. She's probably a great mom but how is that going to work for you and your child when he or she needs an appointment. After all kids need frequent changes in their schedules. So if you know what your child will be doing in six months, by all means call Dr. Valley. read more

Dr. Valley is exceptional in every way. She has excellent credentials, and even graduated from Harvard Dental School. My daughter had gotten orthodontic work done by a practitioner who, as it turns out, really magnified my daughter's overbite. Dr. Valley corrected the mistakes, and now has us on the right track. She is warm, patient, and cares about the patient more than any health care provider I have ever met. I can't praise her enough. read more

Dr. Maureen Valley is the quintessential professional -- warm and sensitive to her patients' needs, and responsive and inclusive with parents. Her travel to Africa and Mexico to share her knowledge and skills with those less fortunate is a perfect example of her altruistic spirit. Dr. Valley is "down-to-earth" and a role model in our community. She practices in the same community that she lives, and her children attend the same local public schools as many of her (child) patients. It's wonderful to be in the same community with Dr. Valley! Her staff move seamlessly between patients to keep them on track, and motivated and working toward the end result. Jessica has been especially warm, welcoming and reassuring, most notably during the early phases. Jessica was the first to celebrate with our daughter on the day she had her braces removed as well. Anna Bacon is knowledgeable and able to field and answer all questions and schedule appointments as needed. On one occasion, we needed to talk with someone after hours to ask a question, and Anna answered the call! It was VERY reassuring to know that we were never alone during the process. And did I mention the modern, clean, minimalist and inviting office?!? Wow. They have complimentary waters and patients have toothbrushes (pre-pasted!) waiting for them if they need to "tidy up" before their appointment. Valley Orthodontics seems to have thought of everything -- from caring for the patient, to a comfortable environment, and of course, the state-of-the-art methodologies. After spending time researching all my options-- conventional braces vs. invisalign, location, pricing, staffing, and parking--- it came down to this... I chose Dr. Valley because I liked what she said about her work. In an initial consultation, I asked her why she chose to be an orthodontist. She brightened and said that she had been inspired by an enthusiastic professor who helped her see what a difference she could make in people's lives. She had that sparkle in her eye that I look for in my practitioners. It helps that she's smart, that she teaches invisalign at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, that she's personable and has a great staff. She's passionate about what she does, and she's gifted at it. She's done a fastidious and wonderful job with my teeth, and I'm pleased at the results. It's been worth the drive from another county. Consult with her when you're considering costly and time-consuming dental work. You're making a big expenditure of money and a big commitment to the process. It's worth looking around for the best practitioner. Dr. Valley has my highest recommendation. read more
