We appreciated the way logistics were handled, from seating to organizing buffet service and keeping things moving along. Top tier tickets get some interaction with the staff. Medium tickets get you great seats, 2 drinks a person and a non perishable lei. Get "tattoos", grass crowns, shots of kava, and an amazingly entertaining cultural experience. Mauka Warriors Luau was a great experience! The luau was fun, entertaining and very interactive, which made the evening memorable. Me and my husband enjoyed the show and had a really great time! However, we're disappointed with the follow-up regarding our photos, which were included in the package we paid for. I've reached out a bunch of times to ask about them but each time, I was told that someone would get back to me. It has now been a week, and I still haven't received our photos or any update. It's unfortunate that this has taken away from an otherwise wonderful experience. I hope the team can improve their communication and follow through on delivering what customers have already paid for. I would still recommend the luau for the experience itself, but I hope they resolve this issue and send our photos soon. Was here on 9/30 and got food poisoning.... I have a lot to say about the food. I feel as though they dumb down the food and do not showcase true hawaiian and polynesian flavors. As if it is all curated to tourist and that really sucks because due to that all of the food was very bland and flavorless. I think one of the reasons the food might have made me sick is because i'm unsure of how long the food had been sitting out prior to me grabbing my plate. It was also hardly even warm at all. Also where is the mac salad????? no mac salad is insane. I saw the menu when I first booked and thought okay at least the bacon ham mac and cheese looks good. Unfortunately it was just so plain and flavorless. The best part of the food was probably the grilled pineapple, taro sweet potato, and the deserts. After I left the luau a little before 9 it took around 3 hours for the puking to begin. My boyfriend also experienced some issues as well but no where near as bad as me, but I still think it's important to note it happened to both. Since the food was an extreme let down and disappointment, the show itself was better. All dancers did a good job and i'm truly in love with polynesian culture they displayed it in a beautiful way. One thing though, WHERE are all the chee hoos????? All in all, this isn't the worst pick for a luau but next time I would try choose a different one or go back to an old favorite of mine. read more

From getting Lei'd to going around the field to have different experiences. They have a variety of actives, free pictures that they will send to your phone. We got Hawaiian "tattoos" We got to learn how to peel a banana, I know sounds silly but actually hard than it sounds! We learned to scrape a coconut, they had macca root I hope I spelled that right. It's medicinal and helps with pain and relaxation. They also had alllll you can eat style buffet which was awesome! The food was sooo good!!! The show was amazing! Honestly soo worth it. Everyone was soo nice and the cultural aspect was great learning about different time periods. This was the best Luau Experience I've experienced. I also belong to a Hālau school in the mainland so it's very interesting to see various performances from different luau's in the islands. My only complaint was regarding the bus transportation from/to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Please see below; To Whom It May Concern, My parent and I were passengers on Bus #1 departing from the Hilton Hawaiian Village yesterday for the luau and returning to the hotel afterward. I am writing to formally express my serious concerns regarding the inappropriate and disruptive behavior of one of the passengers traveling with a group of approximately five or six individuals. Throughout both the trip to the luau and the return journey, this passenger appeared to be heavily intoxicated. He was extremely loud and repeatedly used offensive and inappropriate language, including the F-word and references to "strippers." This behavior was particularly disturbing given that there were children, families, and other vacationers aboard the bus who should not have been subjected to this type of conduct. Additionally, the passenger's pants were hanging well below his waist, with his underwear clearly exposed. While individuals may have their own personal style of dress, the overall situation, combined with his loud, vulgar, and disruptive behavior, contributed to an uncomfortable and inappropriate environment for other passengers. I understand that managing passengers can present challenges. However, being intoxicated, verbally disruptive, and openly using profane language in a shared transportation setting--particularly one carrying children and families--should not be considered acceptable. I was sufficiently concerned by this individual's conduct that I seriously considered contacting the Honolulu Police Department. No passenger should have to endure this kind of behavior while participating in what is supposed to be an enjoyable vacation experience. I strongly encourage your organization to review this incident and establish or enforce clear standards of conduct for passengers. When an individual is unable to behave appropriately, staff should be prepared to intervene and, when warranted, take appropriate action, including refusing transportation or removing the individual from the vehicle in accordance with applicable safety procedures and policies. I would appreciate a response explaining how your organization handles incidents of this nature and what measures can be taken to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. Mauka Warriors was absolutely phenomenal! We were recommended to go here by the activities concierge at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and I'm so happy we went. I was skeptical at first, because I know they have contracts with certain companies/vendors, BUT I was wrong to be skeptical. It was such an amazing time and worth every penny! I highly recommend using their transportation and taking the bus up with others. We were on bus #2 with Steph as our guide and Manny as our driver, they both were amazing. Steph helped kill the time in traffic by sharing historical facts, teaching us a bit of the language, and just generally being super sweet and entertaining while telling us what activities were available, and what to expect. Great experience. 10/10. Once we arrived, they called us off the bus by your package level and gave us wrist bands. We were in section 1, closest to the stage, so we had a welcome Mai tai, given a beautiful flower lei, and three drink tickets (these could also be used on shaved ice). They had activities all over the event; a tattoo station, a banana leaf headband station (I'm so sorry for not remembering the name of these), a Kava tasting station, a fire baton twirling station, a flower lei bracelet making station, a photo station, a spot where you could watch them pull up the kalua pig from the ground, and a bunch of great vendors selling hand made items. The food was buffet style, and honestly, I was super surprised how many options they had. Everything was DELICIOUS! Even my picky kids ate! They had chicken, kalua pork, baked Mac n cheese, noodles, white rice, wild rice pilaf, just too many great options to list. 10/10! The show was the BEST part. It wasn't just a hula show. It was a whole history lesson about the different Polynesian cultures and the wars they fought, so entertaining. I was worried my kids would get bored with a show, but they were blown away! The fire dancers were definitely a highlight for the kids, and they performed throughout the show, not just at the end. This was a phenomenal show! Hands down, the best I've seen! We missed the photo station, so we had to take our own family photo, so I recommend you do that sooner rather than later. They removed the photographers and props sooner than the other activities closed. But it didn't matter much, the background was great and our photos came out fine. Just a tip. The tattoo line was the longest, and if you stood in that, it's likely you missed other activities. It's just face paint, so it wasn't a need to see for us. read more

We especially liked the fish, but everything else was good. We did the transportation option from Waikiki to get there, and got picked up at the Hilton Hawaiian Village along with many others. There was a bit of confusion at first because there was another tour picking up at the same time, but everything eventually got sorted out and was fine after that. Upon arriving to the luau, there were several stations with demos and activities to keep you busy before dinner and the show. The show itself was magical, and left you with a deeper appreciation and understanding of island culture and heritage. All the performers were high quality and friendly. A *SOLID*4 1/2 stars, with only one tiny glitch, which I will get to. I heard very good things about this luau, one of the things is that it's locally owned. It's run by local Polynesians, as well as military veterans. That's one of the reasons I decided to book. I booked through the ticket office at Pearl Harbor for a discount. You can also get a military/veterans discount booking directly with them. Even without the discount, The prices are reasonable for all that you get. They have three different price levels, and each price level determines what type of lei greeting you get, where you sit for the show, and the number of drink tickets you get. I chose the middle tier, which got me a kukui nut lei, seating in the middle section, and two drink tickets. The luau is about a half hour to 45 minutes from Honolulu, depending on traffic and where you are starting from. The luau is not on the beach, but the luau grounds were very well kept. I paid an extra $30 for transportation, and it was worth every penny. It's so nice to just be able to sit back and let somebody else do all of the driving. Our guide was "cousin Stephanie," and she was wonderful. So friendly, so engaging, she is Oahu born and raised, she told us lots of neat stories about the islands, as well as gave us some tips on places to visit and eat at. I cannot say enough, good things about her. We got to the grounds, and it did look like it was going to be raining, so they gave everybody who wanted one a poncho, the rain was sporadic and very light, but it was still nice to have them. There were activities, such as. (temporary.) Polynesian tattoos. Cooking lessons, having your photo taken with different items from Polynesia, making headbands, and other things. Before dinner, there was a hula lesson for those who wanted to try, and then there was the "imu" ceremony, were they pulled the pig from the oven in the ground. As for drinks, you could either purchase them from the bar, and they also had things such as fruit punch, water, etc. complementary. Dinner was authentic, and ono-licious! It was buffet style, and everything was good. I especially loved the fish, the kalua pork, the mac & cheese, as well as the grilled pineapple. I loved everything, but those were my favorites. They also did a tribute and a special "Thank you" to all of the military and veterans in the audience, which I also thought was very special. The one tiny thing that I have to take off a half a star for, was the way that they did the drink coupons. I got two drink coupons, so I thought, fine... Two drinks. I get to the bar, and on the menu, it said that only certain drinks were covered by the drink tickets. I don't drink, and they had two very interesting "mocktails" on the menu, but neither of them were covered by my drink ticket. It just covered things such as juice, soda, coconut, water, etc. I had two very nice cans of coconut water, they were OK, but I was a little bit disappointed. That is the only. We attended the Mauka Warriors Luau last week and we cannot recommend it enough. From the moment you arrive until you leave you are entertained. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, the food and drinks were amazing, and the stories told throughout the evening kept us all engaged. The end of the show was jaw dropping and we were sad it was over. After the Paradise Cove luau closed and I was looking for a new spot and Man did I find it! Been going to Hawaii over 20 years and this is my favorite one I have ever been to! The show and story was very entertaining, sunny, and engaging! The shuttle picked us up from our Aulani resort and dropped us off after! The food was a buffet style and it did not disappoint! One of the best decisions I made while visiting Oahu was going to this Luau. The staff are courteous and friendly. They make you feel as if they are glad you are there. There are vendors with various items for sale before the show. They make free flower bracelets and head crowns for only a tip. The show is fantastic with history, comedy, dancing and seriously amazing performances by the musicians. There are lots of opportunities for audience participation. I would recommend that you be sure to get a taste of the fresh pork after the cooking demonstration. The food is buffet style. There are at least 8-10 lines that move very rapidly and you have the opportunity to go back for second helpings. I highly recommend the fish!!! It was so fresh and tasty. We received two drink tickets with our meal. You can choose soft drinks, mixed drinks, and non alcoholic beverages. Be sure to review the list because not all drinks are covered by the ticket so be sure to take some money to purchase items you may desire. They had three drinks available for free at a help yourself table. I believe it was mango tea, some type of punch, and maybe ice water.
