SBE were really easygoing when we asked to make a few tweaks to the appetizer menu, changed the size of the wedding cake (and then changed it back), and inquired about rentals. It all went very smoothly. Expectations and rules were clearly laid out in the venue contract regarding costs, service, vendors, rentals and food. We had one surprise with the admin fees on the bar tab the night of the wedding but the service was so excellent we didn't worry about it. The venue is gorgeous! It's right on the beach but the ceremony takes place on grass, which was helpful for our guests. It has a lovely path along the side garden that we used as the wedding entrance. The house is quite large and allowed for dinner in air conditioning. They even had the AC cranked up in the bride room for getting ready. We got A LOT of compliments from our guests (and vendors) on the food. I had at least one guest compliment that they loved each appetizer and each entree. I wholeheartedly recommend booking your wedding or event here.

We stayed in the Kaanapali area and most wedding/vow renewal services advertised were on the Kīhei side which would've taken 40+ minutes depending on traffic to get to and with 2 young kids, the drive back wouldn't have been fun (not to mention bedtime). Maui wedding adventures was able to meet us in Kapalua (one of our fave dive sites too). We dined at Merriman's and the food was delicious, as was the view. After dinner it was a short walk to the beach where we met Michael. We were able to choose from a list of musicians that could play while we had our ceremony. Marvin's music is just what we were looking for. He had many song choices with many of them being our favorites. His music really completed our ceremony. Michael's responses were prompt and he kept in contact by sending emails before we embarked on our trip to Maui and even sent a message the day we landed to welcome us! He also sent us messages on the day of to let us know what to look for. We got a sneak peek to our photos the next day and as he promised, the link to all the photos within 10 days. Expect to blow your budget, but you pay for what you get (we spent ~$2,800/guest for the weekend) and trust us, it was well worth it. Katy is one of a kind, and clearly multiple levels above other wedding planners. If you're looking for a luxurious, highly personalized wedding, one that truly accentuates your love and journey, hire Katy, she's your gal. She knows what she's doing! I can't imagine us having even close to the experience we had without her. Many gave us the advice that something always goes wrong at your wedding, just let it go, but our wedding, under Katy's leadership, was flawless. We can't underscore enough how critical Katy was in making our wedding weekend the best time ever. Katy is super organized, professional, and she's an amazing designer. There were many instances where both of us were decision-paralyzed particularly during the design phase. After a few questions and yay-or-nays on pictures, Katy knew exactly what we wanted. It's like she read our mind, and then delivered. From our wedding vision, to big ticket items to the smallest details, it can get overwhelming. Our advice: trust her and listen to her advice because she knows exactly what she's doing and she'll get it done so you have peace of mind. We had our dream wedding and all of our guests lamented about how it was "the most special and beautiful wedding they had ever been to," still to this day, and even the ones who had been to multiple weddings at our venue before. We had a very "us" experience... this was no cookie-cutter thing. We prioritized food, drinks, and entertainment, and boy-oh-boy was that done right. We eloped to Maui and said our vows on Oneloa (Ironwoods) Beach, then had a private picnic for two afterwards. Pia has a wonderful energy and is generous with his gifts of song and guitar. This review is embarrassingly overdue, as we have just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. But I can still say that the service we got from Lori and her team were excellent. Lori has a time tested process for gathering information for all her weddings, and the planning and organization of all aspects leading up to the event were great. There were a million decisions we had to make while planning our wedding, and Lori guided us through this process all the way through- flowers, tables and chairs, music, food, drinks, wardrobe, makeup, etc. etc. And once the day arrived, Lori and team were on-site from dawn to dusk, ensuring that the plan we so carefully prepared was executed flawlessly. Her goal is for the wedding couple to enjoy their day, without having to lift a finger and to be completely stress-free. I think we appreciated that the most (especially after seeing how stressed many of our friends were at their own weddings because they didn't have Lori!) Only after our wedding did we discover from our guests how much work was done behind the scenes- such as a guest breaking a glass on the beach, the wrong type of table being delivered to our site in the morning, lights not having been hung correctly. I may never know the full extent of that work, but I do know that Lori's team took care of it.
