We felt it would be more appropriate and comfortable to provide our feedback directly to her, with the understanding that she could then relay it to her team. During numerous email discussions, Kara made excuses for every issue we raised and essentially blamed us for the shortcomings of our wedding planner. Because of that, I cannot recommend Aloha Wedding Planning Services. Although Veronica, our planner, was lovely and personable, the service we received on our wedding day did not reflect a 5-star experience. Given that we paid $4,000, I expected much higher quality. If the cost had been lower, I can confidently say I would not have been as upset by the small details that didn't go perfectly.

There was a last minute issue with our officiant and they were able to find a backup and helped ease my stress. Kim was beyond phenomenal with all our wedding planning needs! She held Zoom meetings with us, traveled to our venue to help with our vision for our wedding, was always excellent in communicating with us, extremely organized, and took so much stress off our plate! As crazy as it sounds, our wedding venue actually canceled on us just over 2 weeks before our wedding date after a year of planning! Kim was on it though, and was able to help us plan a new wedding in just two weeks! She scrambled and worked diligently to do everything she could, to help us still move forward with our wedding, keep and support all our local vendors (14 different local vendors), and most importantly, keep our same wedding date. Kim handled all the hard discussions with our vendors with relocating and all the adjustments with our guests, so flawlessly! She always listened to our needs and plans but also offered suggestions and advice that we did not think of or considered.  She has many contacts throughout the island and is very trustworthy.  She shared documents, kept us on track with planning, and she was an absolute life saver the day of the wedding.  Her colleague, Nathan, came through in the clutch for us as well on our wedding day with lots of extra setup and arrangements that we added last minute.   They made everything easy for us and worry-free even after the wedding when we were exhausted! This review is embarrassingly overdue, as we have just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. But I can still say that the service we got from Lori and her team were excellent. Lori has a time tested process for gathering information for all her weddings, and the planning and organization of all aspects leading up to the event were great. There were a million decisions we had to make while planning our wedding, and Lori guided us through this process all the way through- flowers, tables and chairs, music, food, drinks, wardrobe, makeup, etc. etc. And once the day arrived, Lori and team were on-site from dawn to dusk, ensuring that the plan we so carefully prepared was executed flawlessly. Her goal is for the wedding couple to enjoy their day, without having to lift a finger and to be completely stress-free. I think we appreciated that the most (especially after seeing how stressed many of our friends were at their own weddings because they didn't have Lori!) Only after our wedding did we discover from our guests how much work was done behind the scenes- such as a guest breaking a glass on the beach, the wrong type of table being delivered to our site in the morning, lights not having been hung correctly. I may never know the full extent of that work, but I do know that Lori's team took care of it. So to recap- if you're wondering whether to hire Tropical Maui Weddings for your wedding, or even if it's worth hiring a wedding planner at all, I would say yes to both! You will absolutely not regret it.

With a bit of regret not having done our vow renewal "formally" 5 years ago (FIL passed a few months later suddenly), we decided to do it for 15 years with our family being less grandpa but with a new addition, our 3 yo. Michael and his assistant were super friendly and easy to work with. He was helpful with restaurant recommendations around our site. We stayed in the Kaanapali area and most wedding/vow renewal services advertised were on the Kīhei side which would've taken 40+ minutes depending on traffic to get to and with 2 young kids, the drive back wouldn't have been fun (not to mention bedtime). Maui wedding adventures was able to meet us in Kapalua (one of our fave dive sites too). We dined at Merriman's and the food was delicious, as was the view. After dinner it was a short walk to the beach where we met Michael. We were able to choose from a list of musicians that could play while we had our ceremony. Marvin's music is just what we were looking for. He had many song choices with many of them being our favorites. His music really completed our ceremony. Michael's responses were prompt and he kept in contact by sending emails before we embarked on our trip to Maui and even sent a message the day we landed to welcome us! He also sent us messages on the day of to let us know what to look for. We got a sneak peek to our photos the next day and as he promised, the link to all the photos within 10 days. Nicole was the first to respond, and she immediately began communicating with my wife. She answered all our questions and made the decision to book with her incredibly easy. Once we arrived on the island, Nicole stayed in touch--discussing possible locations, weather concerns, and the vision we had for the shoot. When the scheduled day came, the weather was awful. Nicole called us to reschedule, and we agreed to try again the evening before we flew back home. Unfortunately, that day brought two new challenges: a difficult family situation and even worse weather than before. We were completely deflated--disappointed, sad, frustrated, and unsure if the shoot could or should even happen. Nicole was amazing. She remained understanding, compassionate, patient, and completely willing to adapt to whatever we needed. As we stood in the parking lot of DT Fleming Beach in the middle of a torrential downpour--just an hour before sunset--Nicole encouraged us not to give up. She and I gently persuaded my wife to at least walk down to the beach and see if the storm might pass. We were already there, with nothing to lose. As the rain began to ease and Nicole started guiding us, what followed was nothing short of magical. She captured a once-in-a-lifetime series of photos that we'll cherish forever. Two rainbows appeared, and she photographed us walking toward them, with the vibrant colors illuminating our backdrop. As the sun tried to peek through the clouds, Nicole made the most of every moment--capturing stunning images that perfectly told the story of our family's resilience and love. Even after we returned home, struggling to decide which photos to choose and wanting to purchase more, Nicole's kindness and professionalism never wavered. We're absolutely thrilled with the final results. I can't speak highly enough of the way Nicole managed the entire experience--from before we arrived to after we left. She was super patient and kind...I was in bridezilla mode almost due to not being able to see things in person but she made it so easy to plan everything virtually. At first my husband and I were just going to elope -- but didn't want to deal with the backlash of family members attempting to kill us when we got home. So now we have to get some "plan" together here since we now have guests! Now you would think we looked to Yelp to find one-stop-shopping for our wedding, but we didn't. I picked it based on how good the website was arranged. Yes, that's right ... I basically picked a website that looked *together* and basically looked, well .... pretty. Pretty pictures and cursive writing accompanied with easy page navigation. That's how I roll. Deanne sent us information and we picked our package. There was an a-la-carte menu to have additional things added, like releasing white doves or butterflies. (We decided to opt-out of releasing random insects or birds since we don't know what the repercussions are to the environment, and with our luck they would be hit by a car or sucked into the ocean, and of course we are so morbid ~ our laughter might be met by evil stares from onlookers.) Deanne was awesome! I wanted someone to have it all together for us, and we would simply show up -- and that's how it went down folks. No fuss, no confusion, no problems. If there were any, we didn't know about it. All of our communication was via email and then by phone when we got to the island, and we met her when we arrived in the parking lot of the beach we were getting married on. I only had two requests, the date and time, and I had to have a specific lei. Deanne delivered! We took a shuttle down to the beach, and when the door opened, I felt like I was met with paparazzi. Who's this guy taking pictures? Oh, that's our camera guy? Sweet! Deanne came and gave me a big hug, and I looked over at our minster, I realized he wasn't the one that she said was performing our service. Should I be worried? Nope! This guy was amazing! He did a traditional Hawaiian wedding and even blew the conch shell during our ceremony. Deanne, thank you so much for making our wedding day with friends and family awesome and totally stress free!
